Season 2 trailer has some scenes that went straight into episodes, scenes that were re-touched aswell as scenes that were never used outside this trailer (meeting Pluto) so i guess we cant say for sure they wont update the transformation
That kiss was sexy. It looks nice in this style. I actually like the lips on the girls.
Isnt that the episode Pluto does that bomb rush Dead Scream...lol

Back then, I had high expectations and imagined that each Act of the manga would be adapted into two episodes—26 episodes in total covering the Dark Kingdom arc.

As time progressed, though, I felt disappointed, but ultimately I enjoyed Crystal as it is, and I thought the 3rd season was an improvement—but, again, I love the story of the third manga act and I always thought the third arc is the best one.

I'm surprised they made it a short range attack when in the manga she actually throws a projectile with her staff.

Though I have to admit it looks better in Season 3 if this is the 'Dead Scream' of Season 2.

So they just released this Valatntine choolates limited edition for Eternal and, while there is no new art ont it something cought my attention. Just in silhouette but we are getting new poses for some of the sailors - Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus (Mercurt one looks closer to the s1-2 henshin pose of Crystal). While the images are rather small Pluto look great with her lips on.

Yess, the pose is definetely closer to season 1-2. And Mars and Venus ones are their speach poses, so I guess the speach animation will also be a redraw of the previous ones in the new style. I wonder what is with the upturn strand of hair inn Rei's design (sorry do not know how to explain it properly), but in the manga it is Minako who is drawn sometimes like this, not Rei.

You cannot compare MAPPA with Toei. MAPPA are doing stuff with passion.
It’s sad could you imagine if sailor moon was bought by a studio like Mappa, ufotable, wit madhouse or production ig??? Or somewhere very unique like Trigger or Studio 3hz. Even middle of the road studios like Brian’s base or Jc staff would be fine. It drives me crazy because they put much more effort in DBZ or Digimon, heck even one piece. Even pretty cure is starting to lose its sparkle abit. Aikatsu is looking much better and that’s not saying much. Honestly if sailor moon was some oversexed Battle shonen Toei would pour money into it.

Sailor Moon is “eternally“ tied to TOEI.

But I was reading a while ago that Netflix decided to invest heavily in anime and that Netflix even hired CLAMP to work on character designs of new anime that I suspect will be made by studios paid by Netflix or by Netflix itself. These new anime titles are expected to air in over 190 countries via Netflix.

So maybe one day Netflix will offer TOEI and Naoko a proposal to make a “Sailor Moon“ anime—and it will be done right. Because Netflix has $$$$.

Well, they put effort in DB and One Piece because those are their two top franchises.
I've started watching this year's Digimon and the animation is not far from Crystal Season III.
Since Naoko bought the rights from Toei in the early 2000s when SM was at its lowest, Toei doesn't win that much with the franchise. The jackpot goes to PNP.

Agreed. They went all out on the first three episodes to sorta promote it (it was crazy awesome, pretty much movie animation right there) but after those initial three it became standard TV series animation.

So I wouldn't really say it's getting more fanfare than Sailor Moon.

So far Netflix anime is horrible though. Especially the ones they were part of the production commetee. Like 7 seeds, it was worse than season 1

"Netflix Japan Anime posted a small, 30-second teaser of some of their animated series and welcomed a group of new creators they have brought along to make original anime series for the streaming service. “Announcement of partnership with six original creators such as manga artists, novelists and screenwriters in planning and producing new original animations.”

I like most anime stuff on Netflix. Right now I'm watching Fate Extra Last Encore. It's very different from all the other Fate series I've watched. This is pretty much the Utena of the Fate series mixed in with some fantasy isekai purgatory themes set in a virtual world. So its no Sword Art Online rip off. Also. I love the Alice In Wonderland episodes. The backgrounds really look lovely with its abstract art inspired from Alice of Wonderland.

Also Castlevania is really good. Sypha's the first mary sue character I actually liked.

I'm keeping away from CGI stuff though but I might change my mind.
