You know, I tried to give religion a go when I had a girlfriend because she was religious but I just somehow couldn't get religious. I know that not all religious people are like this but when I see these kinds of people attacking a TV show or a movie or a game or whatever, it makes me feel as if I'm happy where I already am and I am an Atheist.

I got no issue with anybody who is religious. Some of my best friends are religious, but they are nothing like those people are.

There just bored. These type of people need validation to comfort their egos and the only way they can do that is attack others by making themselves seem superior. There's nothing wrong with believing in something but the problem with these types is that they believe their way is the right and ONLY way and everything else is beneath them and wrong.

@Millicent Just ignore them. As long as they don't personally (and physically) attack you and/or your peers (that would be a case for the Courtroom) just try to ignore them. Let all these (insert Ethnic here) Supremacists, Flateartheners, Gay Bashers etc. believe what they want to believe and think your own thoughts. :|

That said, the classic 'Some of my best friends are X' argument might be not helpful to your case, depending on whom you're talking to, though. :mischief:

Oh boy do I have things to say about this:

- When talking about the CWi dub for S, they seem to have the misunderstanding that the "uncut" version found on DVD was used for broadcast, which wasn't the case. Many scenes, especially suggestive moments between Haruka and Michiru, were trimmed down to meet guidelines.

- They seem to throw Crystal in here too, without really differentiating between the two, which is a problem because Crystal was marketed to 14+ and was not made accessible in the same ways the original dub was.

- They seem confused how Mamoru could "accidentally" kiss Chibiusa even though it's clearly shown that the fall was the cause and there was nothing "sexual" about it, it was supposed to be comedic.

- They even take issue with the Starlights' gender-switching while Seiya has feelings for Usagi. What, is Seiya not allowed to feel love because of her abilities?

- Oh no, the show has MAGIC! Time to get rid of every show that uses magic, because only Jesus is allowed to have special powers it seems!

- Funny how when we go back to the 90's S for the alcohol scene, they use the Viz dub and not the CWi dub they initially used, which had changed the alcohol to juice. Oh, and the fact that Usagi ACCIDENTALLY drank it. I swear.

- "Notice that there are five Sailor girls each named after different planets..."

- Shows the Witches 5, then Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto-

None of these people even watched the show properly, did they?

- ROFL. At the 20:00 mark, they actually showcase fanmade footage from Supreme Moon Senshi's Sailor Earth transformation. These people aren't even trying.

That covers the Sailor Moon segment and what an absolute farce this turned out to be. I can't how bored these people must be to go after something like Sailor Moon. Like, is it not enough that they can follow their own beliefs but they have to spread misinformation to recruit others? Ridiculous!

Paranoia and fear are very in mode right now. I was taught that Pokemon was evil in the church I attended as a child. I didn't buy into it and the ridiculousness of ideas like that is why I was easily able to move on from that once I got a little bit older. But I'm not at all surprised about a video like this even existing. Grifters gotta grift.

Far right Christians don’t approve if anything that brings people joy.
None of the Abrahamic religions do. One thing they love is misery, self hatred and shame. They hate anything beautiful, sexy lovely and joyous. It made me think of Ned Flanders eulogy to his wife Maude in how she taught people the joy of shame and the shame of joy. However the one thing that Abrahamics hate more then joy and fun is wisdom and knowledge. After all that s the original sin in these faiths and the reason for this is because they know that if people question their faith it all falls a part and that is also why their faiths are in many cases based on salvation through belief and not virtue and good works. In fact they destroyed numerous universities, learning institutions etc. Look what they did to the Library of Alexandria or even what happened to Hypatia of Alexandria. So much was lost due to the destruction of this institution of learning and this and many other things led the world into the Dark Ages.

When it comes to pedophilia ask them what happened to the Amalekite and Midianite girls who never slept with a man in the Bible. I'll wait.
One day a talking goat approached them and said they shall become Sailor Amalekite and Sailor Midianite, and fight the evil in the name of the God Almighty. Deuteronomy 30:19

If my memory doesn't fail me. :O

That would be especially dark considering the story. I mean honestly it would sound like Madoka Magica, mixed with a Loli version of Boku no Pico mixed with Bible Black if you know the actual story. I mean I am hardcore Marge Simpson shuddering thinking of that horror. Now that I am thinking of it maybe the same goat could come around later during Mohammad's time and do the same thing he did to the Amalekite and Midianite girls and turn Aisha into Sailor Sunni.

I wouldn't worry too much about what ultra-conservative Christian shitters do with too much time and boredom. In most cases this is just free PR for the medium in question. Does anyone here know Terry Rakolta? This is a shitter with too much time who led a crusade against "Married ... with Children". But this led to the series becoming known nationwide and also being the subject of talk shows.

Yeah I know her. Unfortunately the woke left has now embraced this same censorious purtiantical spirit as your Terry Rakoltas. There is very little difference from say Terry Rakolta, Tipper Gore, Jack Thompson and say your Anita Sarkeesians etc.

If Memory serves me right, the Producers still send a Gratitude Basket full of food and goodies to her every year as a 'gift' for her unintentional PR (and to mock her further), or do they? Nice job 'breaking' it, Terry!

Correct. They even dedicated an episode to her in which they re-enact the story. In this episode, Kelly chats to a producer about her family life because she thinks the prototype she is auditioning for is totally artificial. And then he steals those stories and builds a new sitcom around them that is a huge hit (and everyone in the family hates it, except Al himself).

Not all Christians are like this. I am a moderate one myself. The people in the community from my Church helped me get through a very dark time in my life. They helped me find treatment for my depression which while I still have it somewhat its no where near as bad as it was. Don't judge all of us based on a few jerks.

I think it is clear that we are not talking about people who practice their faith in the normal way, but about 1) newly awakened Christians who believe in even the most outlandish conspiracy theory and 2) opportunistic alt-right politicians who are fishing in the waters of 1) for votes. Yes, I'm looking at you Marjorie Taylor Greene.
