  • Would Princess Serenity have still become Sailor Moon?
  • Would she and Prince Endymion still have been together (perhaps abdicating their thrones to do so), or would they have ended their relationship to appease their respective kingdoms?
  • Would the Four Generals and the Soldiers of the Four Guardian Deities have ended up together?
  • Would Saturn have ever awakened?
  • Would Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto have always remained in isolation?
  • Would Artemis and Luna have still become a couple and had Diana?
  • Would Chibiusa (assuming Serenity and Endymion did stay together and had a daughter) have still suffered her weird stunted aging thing?
  • Would the Black Moon Clan have still arisen?
  • Would the Death Busters have still invaded Earth, or would the Outers have detected and defeated them in time?

Would Princess Serenity have still become Sailor Moon?
No, probably not.
Would she and Prince Endymion still have been together
They definitely would have, yes.
Would the Four Generals and the Soldiers of the Four Guardian Deities have ended up together?
GOD I HOPE NOT!:zoid:
Would Saturn have ever awakened?
No.
Would Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto have always remained in isolation?
Probably.
Would Artemis and Luna have still become a couple and had Diana?
Yes, definitely.
Would Chibiusa still have suffered her weird stunted aging thing?
Ehhh that's difficult to answer.
Would the Black Moon Clan have still arisen?
Yes they would.
Would the Death Busters have still invaded Earth, or would the Outers have detected and defeated them in time?
Hard to answer given that it won't happen until thousands of years later.

I assume Endymion and Sailor Moon would still be together. Even if the love between the two would cool down significantly.

While the series suggests otherwise, romantic marriages are a rather new thing. In the past, politically arranged marriages were the standard, even if not a few rulers kept a mistress who also enjoyed many privileges. It wasn't even for power-hungry reasons, but simply to stabilize the country. There are simply fewer reasons to raid another country when you have relatives in the administration there who negotiate contracts between the nations so that the flow of goods is secure.
If you keep that in mind, of course, there is also a higher chance that the four generals and the Inner Senshi will be coupled together.

And oh well, I hope that Saturn would have been awakened. She was my favorite back then.

Would Princess Serenity have still become Sailor Moon?
No. No reincarnation on Earth means no Sailor Moon. She would still be the Princess the Sailor Soldiers protect. There would be no reason for that to change.

Would she and Prince Endymion still have been together (perhaps abdicating their thrones to do so), or would they have ended their relationship to appease their respective kingdoms?
Yes, they'd still be together. It's not called "Miracle Romance" for nothing, you know. :p And yes, they would still have remained in their respective positions of power. It's the only way of life they've ever known. Not to mention, I think they love being royals since even as humans on Earth they wasted no time establishing their reign again.

Would the Four Generals and the Soldiers of the Four Guardian Deities have ended up together?
Maybe. They would probably have to spend a lot of time together to confer on how to keep protecting the royal couple and the kingdoms. On the other hand, love doesn't work so neatly and conveniently like that. Perhaps a love triangle would have developed or something even messier. Who knows?

Would Saturn have ever awakened?
That's difficult to tell. It depends on whether a new threat ever appeared.

Would Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto have always remained in isolation?
Probably. They really did get the short end on the stick during Silver Millennium, didn't they? :D

Would Artemis and Luna have still become a couple and had Diana?
If no other Mau inhabitants migrated to the Moon and they were the only two of their species there, then yes.

Would Chibiusa (assuming Serenity and Endymion did stay together and had a daughter) have still suffered her weird stunted aging thing?
Yes. Even though I hate that stunted growth nonsense, it's safe to assume that whatever mental issues Chibiusa had developed because of her position as the princess, would be more or less the same since her role and the pressure it carried wouldn't have changed.

Would the Black Moon Clan have still arisen?
That's entirely plausible. If history has taught us anything, it is that there will always be people who are against monarchy as a system of rule and are willing to fight against it.

Would the Death Busters have still invaded Earth, or would the Outers have detected and defeated them in time?
I say yes. Even if the Outers detected them, they wouldn't be able to defeat them on their own without the power of the Silver Crystal.

I have to admit this is a unique line of questioning. While many people focus on what would happen if Crystal Tokyo arose or if it never did arise, there seems to be an inevitability of the downfall of the Silver Millennium that people don't speculate on this topic. That includes me, so this is an engaging thought exercise.
  • No, there would be no Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon only came about because Luna sensed something about her reincarnation and that reincarnation became Sailor Moon. No reincarnation, no Sailor Moon. The other Sailors existed to protect the Princess, and if there was no fall, there was no .
  • Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion would have still been together and they would have united their their kingdoms in an Earth-Moon alliance.
  • This really, really depends on the continuity. Crystal and many of the musicals point to yes. The manga itself gives a maybe. PGSM is completely unknown, while the old anime heavily leans toward no. I'll split the difference. I can see Mars and Jadeite getting together since there is some subtle subtext there in the actual manga, but not the other three. I'll buy that Venus had a crush on Kunzite, but I don't think it would have been requited. I actually would pair her with Adonis.
  • Sailor Saturn would have never awakened. There would be no need for her powers.
  • This is going to sound crazy, but no. While their duty as Sailor Guardians is to remain at their posts, there is also the point that they are the princesses of their respective planets, and eventually that means they will become queens and have to pass on that power. Presumably, that means they have daughters who take their places.
  • Artemis and Luna would still have been a couple and had Diana.
  • Chibi-Usa (who would be just the next "Princess Serenity" and never would have the name Usagi) would have grown up like any Silver Millennium child. I headcanon one reason her aging was stunted because despite the girl's dream to be a lady, that deep down, Chibi-Usa didn't want to mentally grow up and her body reflected that subconscious desire by remaining a child. It is also unclear as to when Wiseman incident happened, which if it happened soon enough after the founding of Crystal Tokyo, may have indirectly traumatized Chibi-Usa.
  • The Black Moon Clan itself would have arisen, just under a different name and organization. With Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion getting together, it would be similar to the rise of Crystal Tokyo, where a long-lived being of the moon came down and took over the people of Earth, offering them long life and prosperity. Some people will always be against it. I don't think the Black Moon Clan would have been as successful, though, since there would be more warning thanks to the Outers being at their posts.
  • The Death Busters would have invaded, albeit with a slightly different approach; they would probably be more purely magical than Magitek and they would have a completely different vessel. I don't think they would have been stopped by the Outers; I always got the impression they were able to travel through wormholes, use inter-dimensional passageways, or warp space in some fashion to get to Earth. However, their invasion would be short-lived, since as soon as they started implanting Daimon eggs into people, they'd have been Moon Crystal Powered back to obscurity. That's really too bad, because it would be interesting if since Princess Saturn would not be a suitable host that instead they forcibly plant a Daimon Egg in the equivalent of of Chibi-Usa....but I can't see them, even if combining forces with the Black Moon Clan, obtaining that much power in a never-fallen Silver Millennium.

Not answering the questions in the OP but just the thread title: as Sailor Moon wouldn't have existed, there'd be no story about her, hence no titular manga, 90s anime, live-action, musicals, games, & "Crysternal" anime - in short, no titular franchise. :p

The ripple across all subsequent mahou shoujo series would be noticeable, too. Might've slowed down the creation of the darker magical girl series.

Eeeh. Then the story would end up being written under a different premise. The rise and fall of Galaxia for an example is completely unaffected by the history of the Silver Millenium.
In addition, there is of course always the possibility that completely different Villains will appear instead of Queen Nehelenia and Co (assuming that she never escaped from her mirror or was never locked there) ... the world of fanfiction shows millions of possibilities.

Sure, but that'd be a different story, not the Sailor Moon story. It could even be written by someone else, say, someone who'd identify w/ one of those villains (hence the villain would become a protagonist instead of an antagonist), & the alternative franchise could be way more successful/unsuccessful than the Sailor Moon one.

I wouldn't mind a Sailor Moon version of Wicked with Beryl or Nehellenia or whomever as the main protagonist.

  • No, there would be no Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon only came about because Luna sensed something about her reincarnation and that reincarnation became Sailor Moon. No reincarnation, no Sailor Moon. The other Sailors existed to protect the Princess, and if there was no fall, there was no.
The Starlights similarly existed to protect their princess, but Kakyuu was still able to become Sailor Kakyuu, so I feel like Princess Serenity likewise should have been able to become Sailor Moon/Sailor Serenity at some point. The only thing to suggest otherwise would be Queen Serenity, who doesn't seem to have ever been a Sailor Soldier. (Of course, maybe she was and it just never came up, or maybe it's a generational difference thing, who knows?)

  • I'll buy that Venus had a crush on Kunzite, but I don't think it would have been requited. I actually would pair her with Adonis.

This may be getting a bit off topic, but I was never entirely sure: was his real name actually Adonis, or was it Danburite? Because I tend to lean towards Danburite's being his real name, and he was just grandstanding when he called himself "Adonis." If Adonis is his real name and Danburite was just, like, a military codename for him, then that suggests Kunzite, Jadeite, etc. aren't the Four Generals' real names either...

Would like to see how Takeuchi would design a "Queen Sailor Moon," as opposed to PSM. :D

  • Would Princess Serenity have still become Sailor Moon?
Maybe... Kakyu did become Sailor Kakyu after all, but I think she would lack the strength of the current Sailor Moon (who lost her Kingdom and happy life once and experience her life as a normal girl instead of a Princess who always need to be protected)... that's just my personal idea though...
  • Would she and Prince Endymion still have been together (perhaps abdicating their thrones to do so), or would they have ended their relationship to appease their respective kingdoms?
Yes, I think they would be still together and with very high possibility and establish something between the Moon and Earth Kingdom if they slowly work it out without Beryl & Metalia's intervention
  • Would the Four Generals and the Soldiers of the Four Guardian Deities have ended up together?
If the Silver Millenium didn't become ruins and still ongoing, I would be very pleased if this happen, as Naoko-sensei did have that intention when drawing the illutrations of the Shitennou and 4 Guardian Senshis together... And to be honest I would like to see how those couples work their way to be happily in love while still keep their guardians duty well  I really like the Four Guardian Deities so I really want to see them have some happy and sweetmoments too, instead of spending all their lives for Princess Serenity forvever without experience some romances...
  • Would Saturn have ever awakened?
I think not, her power of destruction and rebirth wouldn't be needed in this situation.
  • Would Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto have always remained in isolation?
Yes, even the future Pluto still guard the Time Door alone...
  • Would Artemis and Luna have still become a couple and had Diana?
Yes, why not?
  • Would Chibiusa (assuming Serenity and Endymion did stay together and had a daughter) have still suffered her weird stunted aging thing?
I don't know how to answer this...
  • Would the Black Moon Clan have still arisen?
  • Would the Death Busters have still invaded Earth, or would the Outers have detected and defeated them in time?
I think yes, but they won't come as the same time or the same method as the original timeline, cuz everything has changed until these points.

  • Assuming we're still going by the currently established manga lore I don't think it's a question about whether Princess Serenity would ever become Sailor Moon or not, she is Sailor Moon! So long as the Silver Crystal is her Sailor Crystal and she holds the Moon's Star Seed she will always inherently be the Moon's Guardian Senshi at her core. I imagine it would be a similar situation to Manga!Princess Kakyuu where her Senshi form is not her "main" form perse, but she'd always be able to activate it under special circumstances. Of course I realize that everything regarding a Senshi's origins concerning Sailor Crystals and Star Seeds was retconned later on into the manga and didn't exist as a concept back when Naoko was first writing the 1st arc so she probably didn't think that far ahead but I like it better than the original "Silver Crystal was a Moon family heirloom and wasn't inherently linked to the ability to be a Senshi" concept, so I'm gonna go with that.
  • Probably the Moon and Earth would've reached some kind of peace treaty with the royal families of both stars meeting and Queen Serenity giving her official okay to the marriage. It might've even ushered in a new age of prosperity for the Solar System now that Earth has finally been formally indoctrinated into the Silver Alliance.
  • I'm not a fan of the Sen/Shi pairings besides Venus/Kunzite so I'd like to think not. I think only Venus and Kunzite would get together, and even then it would never be a super serious relationship because they'd both be too married to their jobs.
  • If another world-ending threat besides Metallia ever popped up I'm sure she would've awakened sometime. I like to think Galaxia would've still reached our Solar System eventually to wreak havoc and she would've probably been the cause for the end of the Silver Millenium, or if not her maybe Nehellenia would've finally tried to do something directly once she noticed her curse wasn't taking affect, she always had the biggest grudge against the White Moon's reign more than anyone. (I think she would've eventually escaped the seal on her mirror, correct me if I'm wrong but her breaking out of her seal had nothing to do with the Senshi all on Earth right? Wasn't it just because of the advent of another Solar Eclipse? Which would've happened eventually whether the SilMil fell or not) Remember, Metallia was never the be-all-end-all threat to the SilMil, in the manga Metallia was just another concuit for Chaos, and it's part of the universe's cycle for Chaos to always seek the galaxy's strongest Sailor Crystal, so either Galaxia or another incarnation of Chaos would've come to cause trouble eventually. Chaos can never be truly defeated without risking destroying the source of all life itself, the Galaxy Cauldron so it'll always be around to upset things.
  • Probably yes, since they'd now have no reason to come together as they were stuck at their posts instead of reincarnated on Earth.
  • Yes. I don't think Luna and Artemis getting together had anything to do with the SilMil falling, those were two entirely independent events. Remember too that they were sent as envoys to Queen Serenity from Planet Mau, and Mau would've still likely been destroyed by Galaxia, leaving them the last two remaining Mautian survivors besides Tin Nyanko, so they still wouldn't really have any other options besides each other assuming a Mautian with any other alien humanoid species counts as beastiality. (I still slightly ship Minako/Human!Artemis despite this though)
  • Yes again, Chibi-Usa's stunted growth had nothing to do with the SilMil falling and everything to do with the fact that she was a Moon/Earth crossbreed as well as her own inherent insecurities. That wouldn't suddenly change just because she was raised and born on the Moon rather than on the Earth.
  • That would all depend on whether the White Moon claimed jurisdiction over the Earth after Princess Serenity's and Endymion's union. If Queen and/or Princess Serenity felt that they now had complete rule over the Earth's affairs due to it now being part of their empire and ordered a Silver Crystal cleansing of all Earthlings in order to increase their longevity, the Black Moon Clan would definitely still arise and try to rebel. Even if they didn't, they might still come about if Endymion decides to move to the Moon following his marriage to Serenity and abdicates his claim to the Earth's throne. I could easily see this throwing Earth into a political frenzy and radical nationalist groups emerging from the fallout, with the Black Moon Clan being one of them. Remember too, Beryl and Metallia would've never been able to get away with their revolution if the Earth's people weren't already feeling threatened by their Prince's romance with the Moon Princess, so if they're stared right in the face with the reality of their Prince literally abandoning their planet to go serve as consort for another rather than just with the mere possibility of it, I imagine they wouldn't take too well to it, even with a peace treaty in place. Dissenters will always exist after all.
  • I think assuming the status-quo was still in place with the Outers at their posts, the Death Busters wouldn't have been able to invade no, because the Outers would've made quick work of them.
