Doesn't look like we're getting volume 3 this month unless they release it without prior notice. I'd be fine with waiting until even Christmas for the next release, just as long as I knew that's when it was coming out. It's the lack of any kind of schedule that's driving me nuts.
And that is my biggest issue with the Sailor Moon franchise. The total lack of transparency.

I'm convinced volumes 1 and 2 were rushed out because they needed something new to "give" fans for Usagi's birthday to make up for the movies being pushed back, and the digital-only release may have been partly due to there not being enough time to do a print run. I suspect they originally intended to begin releasing the color manga in September to promote the movie and putting out the first two volumes earlier than planned means their initial timetable is three months behind. Hopefully volume 3 gets released next month, with a new volume coming out every month thereafter, but we'll see what happens..

I am not bothered. We know it is a thing, we can wait. The good thing - we know we know what we are getting, and some Dark Kindom pannels aside it is well worth it

Do we know if these are Japanese only? or if they'll be coming to english digital platforms too?

I don't think we'll see an international release in less than 5 years.
The Eternal Edition hasn't been released in my country yet (it was supposed to but Corona) so I don't expect to have this edition in my language in at least 10 years

I think the reason why it's taking so long for us to get more volumes is most likely due to the amount of time it takes to color the manga.

That's what I think! That and corona!

How the coronavirus could affect an artist sitting at home/office and coloring pages? All the work is 100% remote/digital, so after each page is done that artist can send the results over the Internet to their chief editor/supervisor. Publishing and selling of finished volumes in online stores is also done remotely over the Internet. At no point there is any physical interaction between people necessary. No need to blame coronavirus for everything that is wrong in this world.

how would you know that theres no need for physical interaction to complete it anyway?

I'm afraid that they have to go to the company to work, so the materials won't be leaked.

Cite official sources confirming that there is mandatory physical interaction between people for coloring manga, and that this work cannot be done in any other way.

Maybe, and maybe their supervisor also forces every artist to jump through a hula hoop after finishing each page. Both would mean the real reason for delays is ineffective management, not the evil coronavirus.

I mean, I think the pandemic *might* be why it's a digital-only release (for now), and while I'm sure there would have been delays anyway (just like how all the Eternal Editions kept getting delays) and the pandemic certainly isn't helping matters, I agree that we can't blame the lack of updates on covid. If volume 3 wasn't ready yet, they could have at least given us a vague release window for it (like, "It'll be out later this year"), but instead they've given us literally no information. A color release is all I've ever wanted, and I'm happy to finally be getting it, but of course they had to bungle things.
