Hoping they pulled these to improve them. The coloring was.. lackluster. It was overly faded and so much empty white spaces.. I hope it was just a rush job and they’ll give us something more in line with the colored version that was displayed at the museum exhibit.

Exactly my thoughts. I am sure this February they will relaunch it.
February? I don't know, probably for Usagi's birthday? I think Naoko has had enough time to make 10 new illustrations, only 10 in a year and a half / almost two years. The colouring process must have already been finished too.

Yeah, the original Act 1 displayed in the 2016 exhibition was superb. Even the bad panels were really gorgeous to look at thanks to the colour technique.

I do not think they will spend the same amount of effort as they did for the exhibition for a release of the whole thing. February is the franchise anniversary, so they announce it then, but you are right the release won't be before June 30 th.

I just want the full color manga to be hardcover and to be released in English along with a full color release for Codename Sailor V too.
I really doubt any foreign publisher would be willing to face Naoko's approval process of a full colored edition, if even the approval of a few colored pages and covers in the Kanzenban has been proven a never ending nightmare. Brazil announced the Kanzenban before the pandemic and Naoko is still requesting changes, according to JBC.

And it would probably be extremely pricey per volume too. But, if we did get a full color edition of the manga I’d buy it. Sailor Moon is only series that I’d be willing to quadruple dip for.

It would have been lovely to get a full color version of the manga. It is a shame though that this one stopped after the first arc. Which is a shame as there are alot of characters in the manga that I would love to see what they looked like in full color as some we have no idea what they look like and unless Crystal/Eternal shows what they look like we may never see them.

For instance if we do get movies based on the Stars arc I think we will definitely finally get to see what Guardian Cosmos looks like in full color and maybe Sailor Chaos and Sailor Coronis though I could see them leaving out those two. I have said before that I would love it if they gave Sailor Chaos the color scheme of Chaos Galaxia from the 90s anime because I think the black outfit with the red hair, the yellow eyes and the pale skin honestly would look perfect for her and screams evil and Sailor Cosmos's opposite etc.

Honestly unless we are very lucky and they include them in some specials or something we will probably never see what certain manga exclusive characters look like, like Lilica Hubert's Mother from the first Chibiusa's Picture Diary, Shokujo, Kengyu, Zeta and Epsilon from the second Picture Diary, Touhi Chan from the Makoto's Melancholy Exam Battle or Ghost Cistern from the Rei and Minako's Girl School Days Exam Battle. Likewise we probably won't see what Resin looks like from the 4th Chibiusa's Picture Diary or Otakura from the 5th Chibiusa's picture Diary and we won't get to see what the Parallel Sailor Senshi's Sailor Outfits look like in full color either and we most certainly won't see what many of the Codename Sailor V villains look like in color. The only ones we even have colored images of are Phantom Ace/Danburite and Pandora to my knowledge.

That's why I prefer a digital release simultaneously in different languages. The approval of all the volumes would be... an authentic eternal edition. :wow:

I think Naoko might be correcting mistakes before having the rest of the series colored which could take a while.

Or maybe she's procrastinating and leaving the new faded-leg Outers artwork unfinished.

I think the main reason might be why the rest of the volumes don't get colored (yet) is that Naoko is procrastinating fixing mistakes in the manga which is required for the manga to be colored.

They really forget about this... I still don't know why. I doubt it was because of sells - the website entries got grayed out within days. My guess - 5 colors were revealed with the inners skating. However they 5 more covers and Naoko decided she is too lazy to draw them.

I think they were released to make up for Eternal delay. Surely Naoko didn't have new artwork - why should she if the colour edition wasn't due to be released in 2020? - and finally Kodansha used promotional illustrations as a quick fix.

Maybe Naoko has made new artwork for the museum that can fit in such collection.

Yeah, surely she's currently working overnight everyday to painstakingly comb & correct all the mistakes in the manga. :megaoh:
