The edition will be called "All color complete edition.”
That's such a clunky name. Why didn't they call it "Rainbow Edition" or "Moonbow Edition?" Hopefully, the American release will change the name.
I'm sure a print release (especially for translations) will be out soon enough so I won't be buying the rest of the Eternal Editions (only bought the first volume) after all.
I don't see Kodansha USA being satisfied with just a digital release. It may not make sense for Kodansha Japan to do a print version since colorized manga is not part of Japanese culture, but the rest of the world will want it in print. Fingers crossed Kodansha and PNP will allow it.
I wonder if the Sailor V manga will get colorized too?
They better!
If they're going to do this, they need to go all the way!
Hate to nitpick but Usagi’s anatomy seems pretty off in the cover, even by Naoko standards. It doesn’t seem that her legs line up with her torso.
We can forget about any errors getting corrected and redrawn when she can't even realize the problem when she's creating new art. We're going to be stuck with Uranus' insect arm forever.
Also, someone suggested on Twitter that these covers may have been done for the Ice Skating show that was delayed. Now that I see it I find it totally possible. That would explain the dynamic and "weird" poses and the reason why we don't see their feet, not even the upper part of Sailor Moon's boots at all.
I noticed it right away. It's obvious they are supposed to be skating. Which raises the question: why wasn't new (and relevant) art commissioned for the covers? Did Kodansha not ask Naoko or did Naoko not want to? These poses don't make sense outside of a skating theme and cropping out their feet to cover up the fact they're wearing skates looks weird and unappealing. Even when they give us something we want, they still manage to screw it up. Can't they do anything right?
I'd say she did the original colorization of Act 1 for the art exhibition, but it seems they've redone it and now the coloring looks simpler.
The original looks better. The colors are more vibrant and the shading is more prominent which makes the characters pop out. I'm a bit disappointed by the changes.
