In case they struggle to find someone to do the character designs for the Stars movie...

Blah, it would look like early 90s show. The eye shape is reallgiving these vibes. It is pretty, but the way she draws the eye shape bugs me. Also the noses are huge as Escaflowne. Sone that are not profile look really good manga replica, but if these worked for anime Naoko could have done them. These are separate mediums. Modern manga artstyles got simplified in favours and hopes to be anime adapted, but as back in time you go, the more difficult to animate a manga design gets.

Well, if there is one thing Sailor Moon does, it inspires people to do some epic stuff. I really like seeing women and girls flaunt their love for Sailor Moon with their talents and hobbies.

Here's hoping the production value of Stars will be on par with Toei's greatest animation team.

I didn‘t pay much attention to the art itself, but I greatly admired her dedication, love, and persistence to get the job done.

Actually if they didn't cut these scenes Chibi Usa should see her mom and dad in her dream after flying with Pegasus. Can somebody that watched the film would tell whether this was cut and whay was NQS hair blond or silver?

No surprise, he has been busy as one of the Chief Animation Directors for the Dragon Quest Dai reboot since episode 8 and production for that show was far ahead before it's premiere back in October.

Shame, but understandable. Wonder if they managed to get any of the previous staff to work on the second half..

Toei Animation Refuses Labor Negotiations With LGBT Union Member

Well, this is a crappy thing to do. And here I was trying to give them my money.
At this point, if you want to watch this movie, unless Toei changes their ways (I doubt it though, and if the Toei Company is in Tokyo, they're in trouble as Tokyo passed a law in 2018 explicitly making discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity illegal), watch the film on a website like GoGoAnime instead of giving money to an anti-LGBT company and especially instead of giving it to Netflix if Eternal ends up there.

Disgusting, but not surprising. Toei treating their staff like garbage is well known, and now we can add bigotry and illegal discrimination to that as well.
Here I was thinking that Toei was one of the better studios to work for (which isn’t saying much considering the sorry state of the industry) A lot of their works often have empowering messages (Doremi tackling racism, an episode in Precure where a boy becomes a Cure, many of the themes in 90’s Sailor Moon) but perhaps this is more the directors message than the studio itself, as evidenced by this latest fiasco.

Seems that Kyoani is the only one that really gives a damn about its workers and fostering talent (from what I read, at least)

Anyways, here's a drawing of Eternal Sailor Moon by Kazuko Tadano. Besides seeming to be an earlier design (smaller wings, opaque sleeves, round choker,) the pose looks like it was based off an old illustration from back in the early 2000's when the movies were first remastered on DVD.

There's a lot of good people there, but the higher ups have always been terrible.

If there was ever a poster boy for the stereotypical "ultra traditionalist Japanese company run by cruel and out-of-touch old men with a culture of power harassment, overworking, abuse, and discrimination," Toei would make for a good candidate.

I've heard it wasn't, around the time Crystal was first airing, one animator from the Philippines (where Crystal's first two seasons got outsourced) actually expressed grievances of her job there, and sadly was harassed by angry fans who should have been angry at the higher ups of the company.

Then again, since like 2014, even if they did good anime like some Precure series, like what I said, Toei Animation absolutely doesn't give a [BLEEP] about anything except merchandise sales and money.
