Even though a Sakou/Tanado collab will never happen, her style with Tandano's eyes with the right animators would be lit!

In any case, I am so glad Tadano came back. She is such a dedicated and creative soul. She's killing it in her 60's!!

She seems so reserved. Even Kon seemed like she was a little reserved but I can imagine the pressure of such jobs these women have to deal with and they still have the energy to deal with the masses, both positive and negative.

Tadano and Sakou don't need to work together. Let's be real here - Tadano has been doing that for ages, she is way more experienced. She did what she was asked to do, she did a great job doing it. If they asked her to do a manga inspired style with a more mature look, she could have done that most likely way better than Sakou, as Sakou while a good artist and most of the shows she worked on have no problems with animation, hasn't done much chara design work, and this is not that easy to do.
Yeah. This is a point people tend to to forget about anime.

Although character designers could have a "style", they usually design based on what they are asked.

That's why they could work on pretty different types of anime.

Well, after watching the interviews in the NHK program, Tadano comments that she was asked to design the girls as more mature than the 90’s design (she points out the they were in the 2nd year of high school when she designed them and there was an air of immaturity.)

She also says that she gave different eyes to Ami and Makoto to better reflect their personalities in the 90’s designs.

Here's that new trailer and scene shown at the event yesterday for anyone who missed it. The animation is super expressive. here's a peak at queen serenity
Also, it looks like animator Shingo Fuji confirmed he did Mercury's new transformation sequence.

Interesting. Everybody thinks they look younger then ever. But the fact that she was told to make them look older gives me hope for the Stars arc.

the final designs that were on animedia did look older. I wonder what went wrong, but even like this they are pretty, despite looking young and I am fine with it.

Well they popped up new screenshots daily at 4 p.m (Japan's time). It is almost 6 p.m.
So even if we're gonna get something, it won't be on that level as last week

Yeah, they sure spoiled us last week. I guess we will have a lot to talk about after the pre-screening, I hope Japanese fans share impressions and info on the writing and the movie content. And there might be some more official stills as well, I mean there has always been after a prescreening of a premier for Crystal before.

The chara design they use on every promo article and the animedia designs are two different things. the promo art ist is more detailed and has a different coloring, while the animedia designs are basically from the settei and the coloring is more flat to represent how the models look in the anime. So it's not really correct to call the animedia designs "final" or "updated", because Toei sticks with and uses both designs.
At leat that's my impression.

last week we've been really spoiled and I think the only thing I want now is a final 1:30 minutes trailer that includes some action, villains and fun. Something like this:

Maybe we'll get a full trailer tomorrow. We normally got things on Tuesdays and tomorrow marks the 1 month countdown till the release of the movie. On the other hans, they've already published quite a few things last week so I wouldn't bet my life on a new trailer this week.

I doubt we will get another trailer, to be honest. We might get some sneak peek after the prescreening, but I guess this is for now. And as we still have no official information, I guess the next good thing will be the music video.

The full version of Chainon (the MomoClo/Senshi mix) got uploaded with lyrics (the CD version, not the live performance): https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1HK4y177gf/

So one English-speaking Japanese fan quite popular on Instagram just won a ticket for the early premiere. He definitely will share things with us but avoid asking for pics please.
His instagram is labour_moon.
Nice! I hope nobody tries harassing him for pics or every tiny detail though.
