I love the manga, but I ultimately choose the film.

Luna flying to the U.S. and then appearing in Japan again within a short period of time felt a tiny bit awkward.

I feel that Naoko wrote a great story and TOEI polished it to make it perfect.

I love both the manga and the movie, but I picked the movie because it portrays the story very well and it's very beautifully animated too.

In the movie she doesn't yet know that she and Artemis are supposed to have a daughter in the future, so her cheating on him is not as deplorable.
Although Artemis didn’t get his own story like Luna did, the manga implies that he has feelings for Sailor Venus. A crush.

He looks at Venus while she is showering and blushes—when she is in trouble, he becomes human to save her.

I believe Naoko didn’t have much time to explore Artemis x Sailor Venus as a pairing, but it is there.

I mean, I get where this mindset is coming from. But at the same time, Diana is still a kitten waaaaay off in the future. If someone hopped out of a time machine and showed you a significant other and family in your future, that doesn't mean you couldn't go on a date between now and then. And Luna is supposed to be approximately the mental age of a teenager, so it's reasonable for her to have a heart-throb moment over someone. It happens.

Very true. Even though she's doomed to never find love (supposedly), kind of interesting that Venus got three implied pairings over the course of the two series. I guess she really is the Goddess of Love in comparison to the rest of the senshi. :P

I think people are reading too much into it. Any teenage boy would blush if he sees a girl naked.

I would have to read the manga again, but I think Luna, having fallen in love with a human before, is the one who reprimands Artemis for looking at Minako.

I think Artemis also says Minako is very beautiful and looks more and more like a Goddess each day.

The movie is a winter story. The manga is a Christmas story. The fight scenes are better in the film, but I think everything else is better in the manga.
To be fair the movie seems to be set while the girls are on Winter break so it’s either just before or just after Christmas

It’s funny we never got an actual Christmas
episode though.

Doesn't the nurse Venus episode in R take place at Christmas time? Still not a proper Christmas episode, but it's the closest they got to one.

Usagi’s fever dream had her and Mamoru celebrating Christmas time which I think indicated it was just before Christmas in that episode, which coincided with its airdate being a week before Christmas.

Funny enough, the following episode with Artemis and the animals actually aired on Christmas day go figure.

I love the film. It helped polished Naoko vision of Princess Snow Kaguya plot.

It would have been interesting if she back then had time to flesh it as another story arc!
