Also, are the pages supposed to be on the opposite side like this? Ones that were on the right before are now on the left, and vice-versa.
Oh dear. If that's the case, then that doesn't bode well for the pages that are two-page spreads.

This is just how it was printed in the booklet along with other previews. I'm sure it'll be fine in the actual manga. I don't think there were any two page spreads in the preview.

Does anybody know if the new translators are credited in the Bilingual manga release? If they aren’t, is there a chance this is also a totally different translation than that one?

The bilingual manga's translation is credited to William Flanagan, so I'm not sure if that was a mistake (though that would be a pretty huge mistake to make) or if they scrapped that translation and are indeed using something completely new...

ETA: Looking at the previous page of this thread, it seems the preview of the Eternal Edition that Kodansha gave out in April used the translation from the bilingual release. Since that translation is credited to William Flanagan, I wonder if this means: A) He was incorrectly credited, in which case yikes, B) Kodansha messed up and used his translation for the preview even though it wasn't the translation they were using, in which case yikes, or C) Kodansha scrapped his translation and hired these new translators to do a new translation between now and April, which would make me a bit nervous...

I think it's a little bit less thicker than the japanese one. I can see some glitter in the cover, i was expecting metallic ink in the logo.

Pictures are starting to come in from people who got theirs early. Good grief, this thing is big! Too big.

Looks like we didn't get the metallic ink they promised when they announced it, but it's a little hard to see.

Pictures are the The Sailor Book's twitter.

Translation spoilers
Spoiler: show
- Japanese honorifics are kept.
- Apparently "Moon Stick" is still translated as "Moon Wand."

.......Is it really that hard to keep "Moon Stick" as "Moon Stick"?

I think it's true that "Moon Wand" sounds nicer but this has gotta be a deliberate choice, isn't it written as "Moon Stick" in katakana? That's just bizarre.

It's been confirmed that it was deliberate and there's a translation note at the back explaining it.

Well, I guess I don't have to like it, but at least they included a TL note. That's probably the best thing to do in this situation. Can't wait to check it out myself.

The price has been reduced on Amazon. I think I'll order it now.

What do you mean by "still"? Was it translated that way in the bilingual release? Did Viz translate it that way and I just don't remember? In any case, I'm happy about the change since "Moon Stick" sounds ridiculous. Wish they'd stuck a "Crescent" to the beginning ;) but I'll take what I can get.

"Moon Stick" can sound weird for English audiences, so that's probably why they changed it. Same reason why "pinch" gets translated as "in trouble" or "in danger".
