I don't know really. It's complicated how these companies and corporations work on a certain franchise.
They’re not going to cancel just because their director of marketing quit. They licensed the whole thing

You’ll get Sailor Stars dubbed. Oh its Viz so they will probably find an excuse to stretch it out but you’ll get it

How'd they manage to pull of doing InuYasha's dub so well?
Inuyasha was their baby before Naruto. It was actually one of their only running shows at the time (2002), and they were working with Ocean Studios, who always put out dependable, solid work. They had their share of mediocre dubs, but they never had a single dub I would call outright "bad." If you're talking about The Final Act, that release was heavily, heavily delayed while Viz tried unsuccessfully to run it on (pre-Toonami) [adult swim]. The dub sat on the shelf for years until it was finally released to DVD/Blu-ray (it finally got its Toonami run long after this).

Before InuYasha, Ranma 1/2 was their baby, and their "other" big show (Maison Ikkoku) got the shaft and was canceled after 36 episodes dubbed and 61 episodes subbed. The rest was dumped onto DVD in 2003 with a rushed dub (one of Ocean's weaker efforts) and tiny print runs. The last volume was RightStuf exclusive. Most of that was because the show was a difficult sell, but its obvious from looking at old anime magazines that Viz Anime was all about Ranma in the 90s.

With Bleach and Naruto gone, it doesn't surprise that Viz are trying to stretch out Sailor Moon. They're only got this and HunterxHunter unless Boruto is planned to be long running. Is Boruto popular?

Viz has licensed shows before and not gone through with fully dubbing them due to low sales, like Full Moon o Sagashite. I doubt this will happen with Sailor Moon though, unless they really stretch it out so long that people lose interest.

They gotta make it. Viz only got the second half of Supers, the remaining two films (S and Supers), the original video animations and Sailor Stars to go. We've waited nearly twenty years for Sailor Moon to be dubbed in English in its completion. We're not going to wait until another twenty more years for a third redub.

Sailor Moon doesn’t have any OVAs. The SuperS specials aired on tv in Japan and Ami’s first love was paired as a short with the SuperS movie. Nitpicky but there is no Original Video Animation with regards to the 90s anime.

Between the delays, they also tried to get it on TV through a syndication deal that they had with T3 Networks in September 2011 but that didn't work out when T3 went under 5 months later. There was also the (pre-Hulu) Neon Alley service which had the dub streamed with one new episode a week from 2012-2013.

With Bleach and Naruto gone, it doesn't surprise that Viz are trying to stretch out Sailor Moon. They're only got this and HunterxHunter unless Boruto is planned to be long running. Is Boruto popular?
They also still have Jojo along with the recent Osomatsu & Captain Tsubasa reboots and Infini-T Force (though shorter in comparison). Also Naruto's not exactly gone since they're still releasing Shippuden on DVD (with 4 more sets remaining) and is still airing on the current Toonami with Blu-ray probably around the corner for the first series like they did with Bleach after finishing those DVDs.

As for Boruto, that dub will probably happen too since they do have streaming rights for the sub on Hulu and also a dub cast thanks to the movie & Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 game expansion.

Viz has licensed shows before and not gone through with fully dubbing them due to low sales, like Full Moon o Sagashite. I doubt this will happen with Sailor Moon though, unless they really stretch it out so long that people lose interest.
Actually Full Moon may have been fully dubbed when Viz cancelled the DVDs since a website tied to Blue Water (dubbing studio) lists all 52 episodes as having been dubbed. They also had other shows like Zatch Bell, Hikaru No Go, Mega Man NT Warrior and others that had more episodes dubbed than what was released on disc while other shows like Blue Dragon (uncut version), Mega Man Star Force and even Naruto SD never got released on disc at all except in other English countries.

Considering Viz's announcement trailer for Sailor Moon included StarS footags, I can't see them cancelling it now. There's nothing to suggest it's a commercial failure for Viz Media, considering how infamous it is in North America. At the very most, I could see Viz dragging their feet on it and getting lazy with the production side of it. But there's no doubt in my mind we will get all the episodes and movies fully dubbed.

So episode 144 the monster of the week Bon Bon is that Kari Wahlgreen? As someone who is a big fan of Eureka Seven and FLCL, that would be so cool. To have a Eureka Seven / FLCL reunion would be cool, and let's not forget Kate Higgens was in Eureka Seven as well.

I’m pretty sure Viz are only hiring non-union VAs for Sailor Moon; Wahlgren is union now (Why she was replaced with Higgins in DMC4SE)

Cloverway didn't "cancel" the series, they simply never got the license from Toei to dub Sailor Stars back then, as Sailor Stars was a separate acquisition from the previous four seasons. And even then, by the time SuperS was done back then, Toei's pulling the Sailor Moon license away from the all international markets was just around the corner anyway.
Not true. The license was dropped around 2004. Italy was still closing SM-related deals back then.
But yes, Cloverway never got the rights to Stars and Viz made clear they got the rights to all seasons since day one.
There's no reason for "cancelling" Stars.

Lol at people talking about Sailor Stars getting cancelled. Sorry sis. It's not going to happen :). Back when this re-dub was announced they specifically said "All 200 episodes." "Sailor Stars in english for the first time." I can't waittttt :). You know that Part 2 of SuperS is due out by the end of this year so for sure Stars next year :). Oh and btw there are people that love the viz release. It's amazing!!!! I'm happy to have all 4 limited editon sets released so far! Look at how beautiful it is :). The booklets released with each one are gorgeous. I made an album on Facebook for you all to see. Sailor Moon SuperS Limited Edition Set | Facebook

Bump because no one else has answered my question why are so many people think we aren't getting Sailor Stars I thought the redub was doing well in sales?
