Shouldn’t be a problem for me to watch with a 4 year old... ok, work.
And it’s not like I’m a fan of One Piece so it’s moot to compare it to that.
It’s fine, I guess I’ll just be the only one in my family who watches Sailor Moon then LOL I doubt my kids will want to get into a 50-year-old anime when they’re older.
It shouldn't be... I watch this my nieces same age as your kid and they KNOW better to not say any curse words etc. Anyways cause that's how they're raised But that's your right as a parent so I'm not gonna argue what you feel is appropriate or not for your child but I feel like the little swearing here and there in this dub is passable thing and not too vulgar compared to things in other cartoons and anime dubs these days. God... Carrie Keranen was TERRIBLY miscast as Galaxia.
Indeed. I feel like she would sound better if her voice was naturally deeper. She sounds like she can act well and says the lines as Galaxia would say them, but she also just sounds so much younger and higher-pitched than Galaxia ought to sound, like this is some sort of high school version of Galaxia.

Not bad!

Without spoiling for the first-timers, they made the last stretch of episodes look better than they actually were with this trailer.
Wow, that's a fantastic trailer. It's really dramatic, and really sells the stakes of the story. Viz's Sailor Moon trailers have gotten so much better. I remember when they were glorified AMVs with no voices, and set to generic uptempo music. Maybe it had something to do with Charlene Ingram leaving.

It’s just the labeling on the disc.. not the actual content.. sucks they didn’t catch it but it’s such a small issue.
So was the booklet yet they fixed that anyway.

I think the booklet issue was a bigger problem to Viz because people were taking it as homophobic censorship. They didn’t bother to fix the incomplete SuperS one.
The "Friendship" thing is true but when they originally announced the replacement program, it was to fix the incorrect romanji lyrics so even before that mess, they were going to fix something extremely minor.

Exactly...the swearing it happens very rarely, less than 10 times over 200 episodes, 3 movies and 3 specials. Very minor thing compared to what happens in shows like Family Guy, and I know a ton of people that will watch that with their kids. The kids that watch it don’t go around swearing because they know they aren’t allowed to. Also, the show is clearly marked as 14+ by Viz so it shouldn’t be shown to children technically anyway.

So overall they did a great job on Stars in my opinion. The animamates and starlights were spot on - especially Iron Mouse! She was so fun and charismatic!!
also who else was thoroughly impressed with the video quality? It really made me appreciate the artistic shots and angles much more than before.

I completely agree with your statement, the Viz Dub of Stars has been fantastic! My friend who has never seen this season loved Iron Mouse!!! Yes the video quality looks amazingggg <3. I have a subtitled bootleg dvd box set of Stars from back in the day which looks 100% less vibrant.

I actually dont mind the swear words. If they are minor and it also makes them seem more realistic too. I mean as long as it not excessive. They seem to be more mischievous in the Stars. I remember Minako making a brief reference to "Adults love XXX" if that part was translated correctly.

Also, that scene where Seiya was in Michiru's dressing room and she asked him to unzip her dress..lol All that seemed rather suggestive. Might fly over a kids head though..lol

Sailor Stars was hilarious at times if not a tad bit more "mature" than other seasons.

The only character I wouldn't expect to say damn frequently are Ami. Damn and hell are minor words. When the Senshi start dropping Sh"t and F-bombs. We have a problem.

I couldn't imagine Rei telling Usagi to get her $hit together and hurry up and transform!

I remember Minako making a brief reference to
Shortly before the most dramatic pause, and for good reason, in the entire Stars part 1. That reason probably did fly over kids' heads and probably isn't apparent to most casual viewers.:ami:

Part 1 also starts off pretty strong on the "I'm a big kid now" with Mamo & Usa on a park bench with Usa telling Mamo exactly what she wants to do now she is in high school. Apart from wanting to show Usagi as a leader capable of independently making tough decisions the reason Mamo gets possessed by shards of glass and sent away in Stars is because Sailor Moon was trying to grow up faster than her fanbase. I believe this is also the reason why Mamo has the break-up with Usa in R as well.
