Who says she will do part 2? Maybe they will hire another character designer lol

do u guys think we have a chance to get a proper trailer still in 2019?
They won't hire another designer, they said that both films will premier next year, part 2 will be immediate continuation of the same story arc. It would be like a character designer change in the middle of the same season. The are most likely working on both films simultaneously, so another studio was needed. I doubt for a trailer in 2019, as we have nothing - not even a single piece of artwork. I still bet on February, the anniversary of the franchise itself. It is a big date and it fits the time frame.

Actually, my question about a character designer for part2 was ironic. About the trailer: you might be right. Even though I wish they would atleast release an artwork or anything that feeds the hype before the year ends...

I have another question: Will they change character design again for season 5? :yay::yay::yay:
I bet they will, except everybody is super happy with Tadano's designs. I mean, actually I think it would be consistent to change the designs again, because somehow, Sailor Moon Crystal is a franchise re-launch with 3 separate sub-projects, season 1+2 (webseries) season 3 (tv series) and eternal (2 movies).

I won't be surpirsed if they change the style of the background, making it more real instead of watercolor alike.
Why?

Other question: How will Studio Deen influence the outcome of the movies? Does Deen stand for something specific? Do they have their aesthetic signature?

I think the watercolor style of backgrounds makes it oudated and unimpressive, and it doesn't work well on big screen.
The watercolor backgrounds were amazing. I love the whole art design for Crystal. But it was designed to work with the first character designs, to have the manga feel. In season 3 it looked a bit awkward with the more moe approach, and it will look even more so with the new designs, I bet they will change chara designs for Stars again as it became something like a style for Crystal and I stopped feeling bitter about it - it keeps things fresh each time and there is something for everyone.

Maybe it'd be a realistic design a la Akira or Ghost in the Shell. lol

They should have changed the character design for season 2 and should do so for season 5. :yay::yay::yay:

maybe, if the movies will be a commercial success, yukie sako comes back for stars, because toei can afford to animate her design lol

I think there will be more merch, but not a lot, because they announced them already (figures and items...)

It's funny that the identity of SMC was totally changed each season. For example.
They drew new images based on the style of SMC 1 - 2 to promote new products at the end of 2015 (6 months after the end of SMC 2)

And then, SMC 3 was announced in January, and everything related to SMC 1 - 2 was no more used. They started to used the logo of SMC 3, tried to distance from SMC 1 - 2, as if SMC 1 - 2 was not SMC.

(till the beginning of 2018)

I would feel ridiculous having a product that has the title "season 3". Why not just call it "SMC"?

And now, they started to use the new logo, SME. They went on the same route basically.

Most SMC merch is for me not really interesting. The series has/had difficulties with it's target audience. In the beginning they said, they made it for grown up fans (mostly women). But they delivered a series that does not come quality wise close to what an adult person wants and needs to be satisfied. So I think, there was aleways so little merch for SMC because the series was not really worth producing merch for it.
I don't know if a new videogame would be based on SMC-Eternal or on the 90s anime? I think it would have better chances to sell well based on the 90s. But maybe the character design of the Eternal movies will blend in so nicely to the 90s anime, that people will perceive them as the same.

A fighting game between the numerous versions of the Senshi team from the 90s anime by different character designers & animation directors, Crystal S1/S2, Crystal S3, & Eternal (assuming the two movies have the same character designs). :D
