Don't get me wrong, Crystal Usa ain't half bad but she ain't no 90's Usa.

If you had to choose between never watching 90's Sailor Moon again or never watching Crystal Sailor Moon again, and you chose Crystal, then I shed tears for you because the Sailor Moon you like is not the Sailor Moon I cherish and you will never know just how precious a gift you have missed out on. Usagi taught me how to be happy and free in a world where some people I meet seem to be filled with greed, rivalry, bitterness and a lack of trust. You don't need to join divisive religions/cults, wear a sailor suit or wave magical wands to look at the world with light, wonder and hope.

That's just another case of the Miss Dream translation being way off. In both the Kodansha and the Tokyopop translations, Usagi tells Mamoru that Chibiusa is in love with him. He says she's just a kid and Usagi says that doesn't matter ("Age has nothing to do with it! It doesn't matter how little she is! A woman's a woman!) which makes waaaay more sense. Like, it's still ridiculous she's jealous of a little girl, but at least she doesn't think Mamoru might have romantic or sexual feelings for her. BIG difference.
Yah, Miss dreams translation are awkward.

90s Usagi is the best for me. Funny, heartwarming, sweet but also lazy, annoying, and selfish too - she's very humanlike with several positive and negative sides. Plus she really is a hero when necessary. What i love about this particular Usagi is how she actually bonded with every single main character (maybe bar Setsuna) and even got through to some of the enemies.
Manga Usagi isnt as far from the 90s Usagi as some people think but its true that she is a little more romantic and mature (allthough i disagree she doesnt go back to being her old self just like the 90s Usagi - see the early Dream arc or pretty much every single side story). My biggest complain about manga Usagi is how she's so overly focused on Mamoru, sometimes you could even say obsessed. Every arc we spend several instances of Usagi being worried/jealous/unsure of Mamoru's feelings. Considering she KNOWS he is her future husband it feels a little too annoying at times. Also i dislike how there is no real bond between manga Usa and the individual senshi. Its usually just whole group-Usagi relationship.
Crystal Usagi is manga Usagi except she's not funny as in the manga.
PGSM Usagi is actually really cool and i do agree that she's a perfect combo of manga and anime Usagi except that i dont like her in the princess saga and i feel like its the only version of SM where Usagi is overshadowed by Inners. The show focuses on them and relationships between them so much (except Ami and Minako - damn you PGSM!) that Usagi feels a little...unnecessary at times

So i would rate them as
90s > PGSM > Manga >>>>> Crystal (so far)

Usagi is too nice (anime 90), she is not really formidable, since she always seeks to purify people instead of killing them.
I don’t like how passive Usagi is in the 90s anime.
That's actually a misconception, Usagi in the 90's anime was willing to kill people if she had too, her seeking to purify her human/looking foes rarely happens.

Dark Kingdom
Jadeite got ran over plane because of her and the team(he survived but they don't know that)
Nephrite killed due to infighting but his soul was redeem by Naru love for him.
Zoisite killed by Beryl.
Kunzite she tried to purify him didn't work, had to kill him
Beryl same as Kunzite.

Black Moon Clan
Koan was purify by Sailor Moon but only because Sailor Mars ask her too.
Berthier was purify because Koan ask Usagi to do so.
Calaveras and Petz ask Usagi to purify them after Rubeus almost killed them.
Rubeus who the Scouts left him to died on his ship. (which he did)
Saphir... purify himself before dying to Wisemen.
Prince Demande was convince by Usagi that Wiseman and he dies protecting her.

Death Busters
Kaolinite (the first time) was killed by both Inner and Outer Scouts.
Eudial killed due to infighting but...
Usagi didn't bother talking to her.:P
Mimete trapped forever due to infighting.
Tellu killed by Tuxedo Mask.:P
Viluy dies because her nanobots ate her alive because of Sailor Moon attack.
Cyprine and Ptilol were killed by Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Mercury.

Dead Moon Circus
The Amazon Trio died after restoring Usagi Dream Mirror but they gain Dream Mirrors themselves and their souls are taken to land of Elysion by Helios/Pegasus and he promises that one day they will be reborn as the humans they wish to be, with their beautiful dreams intact.
The Amazon Quartet convince by Usagi to give up being villains after Zirconia almost kills them.
Queen Nehelenia is ultimately redeemed by the Sailor Guardians' forgiveness, and reborn as a small child. Signs point to her having learned her lesson, as she is seen making an effort to become close to her subjects as true friends.

ShadowGalactica
Sailor Iron Mouse killed by Galaxia.
Sailor Aluminum Seiren killed by Galaxia.
Sailor Lead Crow killed by Tin Nyanko.
Sailor Tin Nyanko killed by Galaxia
Sailor Galaxia was saved by Usagi when she purges Chaos from her body.

Why do I have to choose between never watching 90's SM again or never watching Crystal again?
To be honest, I barely watch 90's again after a corresponding season of Crystal was released. For example, I almost do not watch classic, R and S these days. I'm watching some episodes of SuperS and Stars now, but I may not do it as frequently after Eternal and Season V of Crystal are released. I just watch the old series sometimes to feel nostalgic about my old days, but that's all. Crystal fits my taste better.

@ChibiNehellenia It’s not a misconception, and it’s even part of the climax and end of S lol.
though the bit with Nehellenia always seemed ambiguous to me, almost like Queen N HAD ...well, “found her peace”. Or rather, is dreaming forever now.
The funniest part is that the sailors didn't have to do much. The villains usually kill, or redeemed themselves.

No I'm just saying it doesn't happen as much everyone think it does.

Did the Guardians give her a second chance in life or did they give her a mercy kill and that Nehellenia final scene is her in Heaven? I prefer the former because the Guardians dialogue support that scenario.

it doesn’t happen every episode but it seems like her healing/purification powers are more front and center here so I can see how people are under the impression.
I think the former is a higher possibility than the latter, but we’re led to believe that Usagi Can both restore a WHOLE kingdom and its subjects back to life as well as turn back time? It’s nice, but I think that they just mercy killed her with love lol. Either way, Queen N was awful and didn’t need to be redeemed

Why do I have to choose between never watching 90's SM again or never watching Crystal again?
Thank goodness we don't, this thread is all about preferences and it was a very rhetorical question. I've watched Crystal at least 3 times because it has many amazing moments too. Couldn't bear to part with either of them.

haha, right? The “if you chose __ I’m sad for you” stuff is the saddest thing I’ve read in this thread. There’s no right or wrong answer here, and you can be respectful of other’s opinions. Some of you are grown folk, I can’t
Yes, I should have chosen my words more wisely. I would love to convey in detail how special 90's Moon is to me and I hope that one day I can find the right words and context to do so.
