The manga is my favourite and I never imagined of such a release. I did, but found it impossible.
What's really crazy is that I've been currently re-reading the manga (now that I finished with the anime. Lots of free time in lockdown lol) and I was literally thinking just *yesterday* that a full colour version would be neat but doubted it would happen.
Then this morning I come on the forum and saw this news and my jaw dropped.

The edition will be called "All color complete edition.”
That's such a clunky name. Why didn't they call it "Rainbow Edition" or "Moonbow Edition?" Hopefully, the American release will change the name.

I'm sure a print release (especially for translations) will be out soon enough so I won't be buying the rest of the Eternal Editions (only bought the first volume) after all.
I don't see Kodansha USA being satisfied with just a digital release. It may not make sense for Kodansha Japan to do a print version since colorized manga is not part of Japanese culture, but the rest of the world will want it in print. Fingers crossed Kodansha and PNP will allow it.

I wonder if the Sailor V manga will get colorized too?
They better! If they're going to do this, they need to go all the way!

Hate to nitpick but Usagi’s anatomy seems pretty off in the cover, even by Naoko standards. It doesn’t seem that her legs line up with her torso.
We can forget about any errors getting corrected and redrawn when she can't even realize the problem when she's creating new art. We're going to be stuck with Uranus' insect arm forever. ^_^'

Also, someone suggested on Twitter that these covers may have been done for the Ice Skating show that was delayed. Now that I see it I find it totally possible. That would explain the dynamic and "weird" poses and the reason why we don't see their feet, not even the upper part of Sailor Moon's boots at all.
I noticed it right away. It's obvious they are supposed to be skating. Which raises the question: why wasn't new (and relevant) art commissioned for the covers? Did Kodansha not ask Naoko or did Naoko not want to? These poses don't make sense outside of a skating theme and cropping out their feet to cover up the fact they're wearing skates looks weird and unappealing. Even when they give us something we want, they still manage to screw it up. Can't they do anything right?

I'd say she did the original colorization of Act 1 for the art exhibition, but it seems they've redone it and now the coloring looks simpler.
The original looks better. The colors are more vibrant and the shading is more prominent which makes the characters pop out. I'm a bit disappointed by the changes.

"Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon: Prism Edition."

I mean... Usagi has three hands on the cover of volume 10 of the Eternal Edition. Of course Uranus's double elbow was never getting fixed.

I agree. The only thing I can think of is it would take too long to properly colorize everything so, in order to match the simpler coloring/shading of the rest of the manga, they had to redo Act 1. L A M E.

I personally love the new covers. The girls look a bit younger on them and full of live. While they did a bit simpler colorizing than the one Naoko did for act 1, but it is good enough. Really pretty. And we are getting the whole manga this time. I wonder if there will be tweaks on the already color pages.

Two days to go! I hope fans outside of Japan will get to buy it.

What scenes are you most looking forward to seeing in colored? For me it's all the Moon Kingdom flashbacks.
Same for me. Also the melting Chiba's face, act 9 and act 10 for me. I know it will be in the next too, but Casablanca memories. And Princess Kaguya, oh my! :D Honestly, though, every page. It will feel like reading it for the very first time. Fingers crossed we will be able to buy it as well. 9 dollars is quite manageable price for this experience.

I'm hoping that Kodansha USA will release the full color edition of the manga in hardcover. And I hope that Codename Sailor V gets the full color treatment too. I'm so excited for this and I can't wait to buy the eventual physical releases. Do we know how they're splitting up each story arc or will it be one story arc per volume?

I think it will be like the Eternal/ Kanzenban editions, 10 volumes just in color.

Do you think we're getting two volumes every month (maybe with a print release getting announced for Christmas/to coincide with Eternal?) or do you think they'll just do one a month hereafter or ??
What I would do in their place would be to make it in 12 volumes. 10 for the main story - 2 volumes per arc, and two for the side stories, than make it 2 per month, filling exactly the time till Eternal. I've always found it better to have the side stories separated, rather than mixed between chapters, as most of them are not related to the main plot, and the few that actually are, were not necessarily placed chronologically in the Eternal Edition anyway.

yes those poses are copy from skating itself which supposed to be in use for ice show that got delayed\cancelled and they decided to use it as cover, one of reasons why their legs is cropped maybe because they was on skates but kodansha was too lazy to redraw leg part and just cropped it

Kinda shocking how lazy that is. I mean, it's the full colored manga edition. Recycling artwork that was meant for other purposes is almost an insult. They could at least draw additionally the boots and adapt it.

lol Over here it's said that when you see persons w/o legs or w/ blurred lower parts of their body, they're probably ghosts. XD
