This is what I was telling kyself, but then when I looked at it, the design is pretty cleaned up in comparison to the girls concept art that looks a bit rough. Still we need a bit more of him to judge.
If that is the same with the silhouette in the calendar, I assume at least it's not a close up.
The reason it is clear is just because the staff vectorized and enlarged it.
But who knows. The most important thing is the final movie :fap:

I am fairly certain it is from the schedule book, yes. On one gand I am trying to be positive, on the everything with Eternal so far is either disappointing or vague.

There is no "Precure style" at play here. The fact is that anime nowadays uses smaller and rounder features. Mouths are lower, noses are smaller, hair is less detailed, it's just the look of the 2010s. Precure's one of the only franchises that does unique art styles for each season.

Tadano said in some official statement a while back that she was trying to blend elements of the manga with the 90's anime whiling giving it modern touch.

80s/90s for me please. So expressive! Paradoxically it seems like with computer animation they became lazy. I read that nowadays animation studios produce way more anime then before, so they have less capacities for each anime. more quantity, less quality. Sailor Moon Crystal proves it.

90s anime style seems the best to me honestly. The newer styles are more like "meh" to me, with some designs I've seen.

I do not really want Juniji Satou nor any 90s crew involved in potential Stars adaptation. I think once they started a close manga adaptation they should finish it before doing anything else and these guys were much better at creating their own stories than faithfully adaptating source material.

sorry but adapting the manga 100% identical is a bad idea and we know that because of s1-3. the manga is not a storyboard for anime!

faithful to the source material means to me, not altering heavily the plot or characters. minor adaptations are and always will be necessary. and for that you need creative and talented storywriters and directors.

It is too late now. They started it and Stars is the least deserving arc. So rather than that, let them finish it this way and if they ever make a new adaptation let them do it fresh with this crew. They screw this generation of Sailor Moon already. This is what I mean. They started it like this they have screwed the good story arcs, why wasting the talant for Stars instead of using it for the next adaptation? And while I agree that 100 percent manga adaptation won't work, I do not thing the monster of the day formula would work either. I hope the next adaptation focus more on the girls and the major villains, instead of the monsters of the week. We do not need battle every episode. Plus Junichi Satou will go back to the old habits of the 90s and the franchise needs something completely new and fresh after Crystal.

And let's be real Crystal s1-3 biggest problems happened whenever they strayed from the manga abd were not very faithful adaptation, especially s1 which was panned and armed the rest of it.

yeah i think the same, all people said the bad season was season 1 of crystal and was the one who add somethings unnecessary like the sxs plot and the censorship it was less censor in season 2 and 3
i hope season 4 dosent have much censorship
i wonder if we are going to see ray with a new hair style, in the manga she use her hair up, because the climate was hot

I wanna see Zirconia :-D

The trio looks good! I like the simplicity here. And that there is no way now that western companies transform fisheye into a woman.
They wouldn't anyway. I like the designs, but now that we have suddenly a lot if them I came to a realisation. This project has no unique style. The inners look in style, but Usagi and Chibi Usa designs look like a completely different show. Then the outers - Uranus is completely odd out in the designs. Tahen Helios looks exactly like the 90s, while Mamoru nothimg like it and now we have another 3 male characters that are in completely different style. This can be goid, actually great having characters that do not resemble each other at all, but something is odd about the mish-mash of styles. It is like characters that are from different shows. Almost no signiture look. Which can be a good thing. I do not like the syndrome of the same face and it might be a very diverse and cool piece, combining different style. Tiger Eye and Fish Eye give me Gibli vibes.

Tiger's Eye looks very generic and simplified and Hawk's Eye looks plain bad. What's up with his mouth? His hair is a hot mess too. The only one who looks decent is Fish Eye.
Yes, Hawks hair is a bit off, but for me everything else looks quite good. People said these leaked by we are yet to know the source. They look legit though.
