Season 4 movies update: Sailor Moon Eternal - Delayed to 2021 (Part 1 on January 8th & Part 2 on February 11th)

It simply happened off screen. Do we need everything over explained?

Well yeah ! It would have been less effect shipped! Seeing them discuss this would have been nice.

Are you sure those people watched the movie? There's a scene in the manga where the girls talk about "powering up" and thinking about the Outers which leads to Minako realizing she can't transform. The scene where Minako tries to transform was confirmed to be kept in the movie, so it wouldn't make much sense if that scene was cut...

(It's also just a weird complaint in general. The '90s anime had countless episodes where the girls get a new attack and it's never even discussed in the show or even frankly justified.)

But not everything can be explained " off screen " and move on.

Particularly, the manga has lots of unexplained things in Dreams that doesnt get any explanation ( that I can remember now ) and the movies adapted that the same way with no explanations.

For example, the first battle in Dream with the tiger ( that we have already watched trough the leaks ) with Moon and Chibimoon being unable to transform. Why they can't transform? They have their regular brooches from the last season intact and they dont respond. Why is that? Then their grials come from nowhere ( you dont know if they are there phisically or they are a vision ) and it seems they can't transform cause the outers are not there with them to have the chalice activated. Well... the inners are not there either in the same place. The outers are in Japan alive as the inners who are at their places. So it is a problem of distance? xD Its totally absurd. If the outers were dead I could understand that the chalices couldnt work but they are alive. Its the same with the inners... they are upgraded by Serenity at the end of the mugen arc with the super form. Why can't they transform now and they need to have a new power awaken in a dangerous situation while amost being killed? It seems like Naoko just wanted to introduce a new magical item ( the heart brooch ) and thats it.

In the 90's anime everything is explained according to the past events from S and given a logical explanation. They can henshi into their regular forms since they have their brooches. The problem is that the dead moon enemies are stronger and their powers dont work for them so Pegasus come and give them new powers so they can have new brooches improved that gives them the power to evolve into super form since Moon can't use the chalice because it was destroyed by Pharaon 90 so she can't transform into super.

Anyway I find it interersting that in Eternal the Amazon Trio are quite "promoted" while actually they're not that diffrent from, say, Xenotime and Zeolite, in that story.
All their popularity is thanks to the 90s anime. I'm sure things would be much different if they were depicted like in the manga back in the day.
But I'd personally still have loved Fish Eye and the Trio. I take U-Ikasaman as a proof of that (she's just a daimon, yet I love her).

I was saying this cause I remember that someone said in this forum I think ( Adam maybe ) that the girls dont talk about anything that has happened to them with the trio and the new powers. And basically the most negative aspect of the movies commented by people who have seen the movies are the missing peacing and the strict adaptation of the manga so everything feels rushed and unnatural. Thats why I was saying that...

And yes, Its not like the 90s anime discussed and explained everything. Its not what I meant but in this particular case ( beggining of SuperS/ Dream Arc at least in the 90s they gave a coherent explanation with the past events that had happened ).

I feel like you're making several unrelated points. More runtime doesn't suddenly mean everything gets an explanation. The '90s anime had 200 episodes where things completley go unexplained. SuperS was one of the worst offenders. Why did the entire cast get held back a year and not graduate to high school? Why is that only Usagi saw the Dead Moon Circus? Why didn't she even bother telling the girls about it when they're literally getting attacked by circus performers every day? You are picking and choosing what seems logical and natural.

The issues with pacing have been a problem with Crystal from the start when it was a TV series. Do you really think ten minutes would magically solve the issue? Season 3 had a whole extra episode and the pacing was still lightning fast. The story of the manga is compact and as a result any faithful adaptation of it will have issues with pacing.

Well Im saying this considering because both movies will have a total lenght of footage reduced compared to the previous arcs so I think 10 minutes extra ( since they put new scenes and avoided others ) trying to connect everything and giving more time to some characters that dont have enough screen time would have made the narrative more fluid and not that strictly fast making a better product at the end. I havent seen the movie but from all the critics I have read from those who has, they all say that the worse part is the rushed happening of the events that dont let the story breath so if everyone is saying so I guess you can make a constructive criticism saying that right?

And no, Im not saying that everything need to be explained as the examples you mentioned from the 90's anime but the most significative ones that happen on screen.

Another I can thing off watching the leaks: Mercury's harp not being shown or presented before attacking. I think it would be perfect to have a 3-5 second shot of the harp appearing ( remember that in the manga it talks like the kaleidoscopes ) and Mercury looking at it and then grabbing it to start the Aqua Rhapsody attack. But nothing is explained or shown and it just feels too mechanical.

mh about why she cant transform i dont know, the inners i understand because they power up, but i dont know what happen to their pens, in the manga we know they didnt use them in infinity arc and season 3 keep them, but maybe they havent time to transform because of the attack, but sailor venus and the outers cant transform, well it feels like you need a new phrase to activate them or use them something like that, or maybe was neherenia magic because the persons start acting aggressive in the manga and looks like neherenia use a spell but that just given much credit

remembering the outers senshi manga part i think most was due to neherenia magic or spell that they couldn't transform

now she/he disapoint me uwu i think she/he was a clean defender of crystal/ eternal with good explanations and arguments but this behavior is sad

As I said, I couldn't give you the whole MV, because my laptop is not strong enough to encode a blu-ray. Do you have any idea about how harmful it is to a laptop if you encode a blu-ray? I don't care if you believe me or not. I can't risk breaking my computer down just to encode an MV, and have no equipment to study and do my assignments. All I have now I just a laptop, not a desktop computer!!

This point is Super S still make me ! Specially because we saw them 100 times in the third season studying to be successful with their exams. They could have done so many good fillers about the Sailor in the SuperS season based on the exams short manga story... instead of introducing every week characters as interesting as a stone (I have in mind these boring episodes with the car renovation or the sword lutte girl)... they never show them with school uniforms as they knew obviously that something was not correct! My only explanation is that this season is like a dream from the moment the Dead Moon on Earth is, it’s kind of Limbo Dream without real time...

Anyway I understand what Sailor_Art said, you can adapt very faithfully a story from a book but you can still develop the story. If pacing is not correct it’s mean that the adaption is not good enough. And that the problem of Crystal since day 1! One manga page doesn’t mean 1 min in Crystal (just giving a stupid example but...).

I never understood why they kept them in season 3. Because they wanted to sell it as toys ?! It’s really for me a huge plot hole. They’re screaming for “Planet Power” and they have a pen with a “star” on it... really WTF. And the outers have none but you can more or less guess in the transformations that they just change their mind about drawing them. Here also I still don’t understand WHY!

lol not in Stars, the Outer seems to be able to transform without phrase or even without transformations sequences, of course probably to reduce budget cost LOL (or the inners for 6/7 episodes in supers) But I would have like an update of their transformations in stars specially when we got 2 sequences for the ugly Draglights.

I just received my copy of the Moon Color Chainon CD + BRD. I can't really encode it to video unfortunately...

1. I can confirm that the end of inners transformation is kinda weird, it seems to lack some frames. I really hope it's not the definitive version... The part where Venus does her thing with her hair at the end is disapointing (it was so beautiful in SuperS)
2. Venus attack seems quite disapointing too, clearly it lacks some frames and the end pose is weirdly positioned on the screen
3. Jupiter's attack seems the weakest, I don't know if it's the full version but there is nos close-up of her face, she just spins...
4. Mars's attack is the best with Mercury, there are some extra frames with nice close up and there is a "wind blow" on her hair which is quite elegant ^^
5. The part when they turn from princess to eternal forms is not as bad as it seems on screenshot, there is a camera movement from right to left which kinda hides the not-so-pretty faces... It's like some elaborated Ando's face (I kinda liked Ando's episodes but that's another subject ^^)
6. Nothing new about the outers (lol) besides what we saw on the trailer
7. Seeing like 4 minutes of animation in full resolution on computer screen is a pleasant experience. Honnestly besides some questionnable shots, it moves nicely and it's a step-up from S3 (let alone S1-2 lol). Don't expect Violet Evergarden or Evangelion type animation and you probably won't be disapointed.

Can you just maybe post a picture of the CD and BR covers with the box ? I haven’t see them in “live”
