Are The Three Lights And Princess Kakyuu In Some Sort of Polyamorous Relationship?

Now I think I know why the Starlights were crammed down our throats so much. Boy Bands were really popular in that time I assume or whatever.

Then TOEI misinterpreted and ruined Takeuchi’s idea by changing the actual gender of the Starlights... they were meant to be girls disguised as boys, not boys.

So where's the harm?

The Starlights were men, biologically, and that aspect changes the idea that under the mens’ clothes—when they were performing—there are men and not women.

I mean to me it really sounds like nitpicking because out of all changes 90 anime have made this one seems to me like a really clever one and it makes a lot of sense. Plus it uses Naoko's ideas which she used in the series twice.

Yeah that exactly what she imposed for the new musicals sknce 2014, all male characters are also played by female. TOEI wanted probably them as boy to "first" passe the "homexuality / trans" ban internationnaly, secondly wanted to attract new viewers with Sailor being Boys.. (or half boys)... That why they pushed them so much on screen with 2 different transformations and 3 version of their attacks... When all the Inner and even more Outer get thown under the bus... But somehow I still like Stars. The fillers are not like a copy paste of each others like in SuperS. And I really love the last 5 episodes and the small Nehelenia's arc...

In the 90’s anime, most interactions between Seiya and Usagi are those between a man a woman—because biologically Seiya is a man, he only changes gender upon transforming. In that light, as a human, not as a senshi, Seiya is by all means a guy who is in love or infatuated with Usagi.

In the manga, this is handled differently. Usagi becomes aware that Seiya is a girl right in the beginning and *she* has an unrequited love for Usagi, which Usagi herself notices. In that sense, Seiya is 100% female and like Haruka.

Let's not assume Seiya's gender. It's actually an asexual space creature that reproduces through spores.

To be fair, the manga threw all the inners + outers under the bus... they all disappear —much like Mars, Mercury, and Jupiter disappeared in the Black Moon arc—and we only get to see them again as Galaxia’s servants later.

that’s true but the last arc manga has what 10 acts ? It was more easy to push the Outers in the anime... but I guess they got lost.. it’s not very easy to have such a huge cast of characters true. That’s why Takeuchi always make them kidnapped or killed lol
