Eternal failed to make it to the top 10 of Netflix US in its debut 4-day weekend. Instead, a couple of low-quality cartoons that no one's ever heard of made it which is embarrassing to say the least. I've learned it didn't make it to the top 10 in Australia, Brazil or Ireland either. Does anyone know how it performed in other countries/territories? Screenshots will be appreciated.

I’m not surprised it didn’t make top 10 in the UK or Ireland. Sailor Moon has laid dormant in the UK since the end of the broadcast of the DiC dub way back in 2002. Obviously anime fans will know of it even if they’ve never watched it.. but casuals? Probably not. Was never popular here like other European countries.

The movies reached TOP 5 in a lot of countries even reach 4 in Germany for 2 days and Top 3 in Italy.

You have a recap of every days, charts here :

Pretty Guardians Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie • FlixPatrol

yet you have to claim it’s a failure because it’s didn’t chart in Ireland and Bresil lol…

So basically yeah in every country where Sailor Moon is well known it reached Top 5/10 (and still in the charts after this weekend).

For the US, it’s such a huge viewers country I’m not surprised that some kid cartons are more popular right now than an Japanese carton targeted for adults.

Worldwide (all countries mixed) number 13. Which is still very good for a Japanese anime movie and not embarrassing like you’re claiming…

Besides that Netflix never really communicate about his viewers they did it only on a very very few times for movies with exceptional performances

Yeah, Sailor Moon was insanely popular in germany during the mid/late 90s. Basically, 70% of the german Internet at that time consisted of fan pages for Dragonball Z and Sailor Moon. I'm not surprised.

... but let's celebrate its successes regardless, because it does us no harm to have people remember what they loved about the series or perhaps be introduced to it for the first time.
I'm happy. In any case in France, even if the film did not reach the top 5, it still remains in the right places without a huge drop. They hold the position well.

The Real Story Behind Netflix’s Top 10 Lists

Given how famously opaque streamers — including Netflix — have been about releasing performance data, the introduction of the top-ten lists has not been greeted with universal acclaim. For one thing, Netflix admits its rankings aren’t based on the average audience size of a title, the way Nielsen measures linear TV consumption. Instead, the streamer uses what it calls a “chose to watch” standard, which tallies how many people sample at least two minutes of a given title.
What makes the "top 10" list on Netflix isn't necessarily an accurate indicator of that title's success.

Id like to add in that despite being a magical girl anime, it is probably one of the few anime to chart either way. Granted I just started Netflix but have not seen any other anime in the genre charting or anything. While the Top 10 should be taken with a grain of salt, it is still good the show is charting which mean it has visibility somewhere.

I find it hard to believe it is not popular over here in the U.S. we had folks over here yapping about tuning in cause it is Sailor Moon Eternal Day which should actually be a real holiday if we are being honest.
