The torsos look tubular and the skirts are too long, like in the musicals. Weird proportions. The faces though are pretty.
I agree. Proportions have never been her strength, but something's definitely off here. In the solo image, Moon also looks like someone's holding her hair up out-of-frame like some cosplayers do, lol. Still, the faces of everyone are lovely. Nice to see something new out of her.

For some reason, the crystal-fied version of the Moon Stick always makes me think of the live action PGSM. Which makes me think of it as looking like cheap plastic instead of as a chunk of the silver crystal or something.

Sailor Moon Original Picture Collection Vol. I – Sailormusic.net

In her artbook, concept art of Sailor Moon ended with her wear said cape. So it isn't random.
At least that one doesn't look Dracula. lol

She just doesn't care about them wearing shoes anymore lol
I think she's supposed to be barefoot, giving her a sexy feel?

In the solo image, Moon also looks like someone's holding her hair up out-of-frame like some cosplayers do, lol.
Actually there're page boys carrying her long pigtails outta-frame. :)

The thing is in the old illustrations she wears a white & magenta cape, which suits her quite well. It made Sailor Moon more regal like Sailor Cosmos. But the recent one is more Draculaish.

Hey! It might be a foreshadowing of the new arc. :megaoh:

Most likely shoes are too hard to draw for her so she just draws them barefeet now ^^

About Naoko’s style, I really don’t see that much difference between Kanzenbar covers and museum illustrations. They are very much alike and some for the museum are even superior to kanzenban imo (like, all the outers).

LMAOOO thats my problem with the Classic Moon Stick, the gold looks so cheap and tacky (imo), it looks like a toy (and I know they made it like that cause they wanted to sell some toys lol)

Wait, didn’t she chop the feet a.k.a. ice skates off bc she made the artwork initially for the prism on ice thing?

also, i’m remembering an old artwork with the senshi all barefoot. i remember that i found it super ugly when i saw it for the first time. do u guys know which one i’m talking about?

edit: this one. i think they look like trolls.

I've longed to see a new anime basing on the musical stories. :D

Most likely shoes are too hard to draw for her so she just draws them barefeet now ^^
But can she draw feet & toes properly, considering how she draws hands & fingers?
