I’m definitely not getting my hopes up for Stars. I’ll probably be more hyped when they start teasing stuff but at the moment I’m very ambivalent about the whole thing. Of course I made it this far so I won’t not watch it but after the Eternal movies I’m cautious.

Anyone who expects a left field work of art from Stars are just deluding themselves. We will most likely get a serviceable ‘adaptation’ (1:1) from Ms. Kon and if we are lucky we will get something akin to what we saw in Eternal part 1 in terms of animation. I definitely to not expect them to take any stylistic risks or expand or the original material, even though the story in Stars is begging for some kind of Madoka level treatment. Seriously, the story in the manga is a mess but it has the potential to be amazing with the right team, just a shame it probably won’t realise its true potential.

Sorry if this sounded salty but I guess I am :P
God, here comrs the fun police

Season 3 definitely left a lot to be desired most of time in terms of style. Some of those shots are in the Eternal film too but the Eternak film also has some gorgeous shots.

S1-2 of Crystal had problems in some parts but looked real great in others, like Jupiter's debut episode. However, to me, none of the girls in the early parts of Crystal S1-2 look like more like. They look like older teens (young adult women).

The style of S1-2 when done right is way too sophisticated for a lof of folks to handle imo. It's very beautiful but not "cute" to me.

It seems like it would have been a style to use for Stars or something though. Eternal should have been something they started with and maybe progressed into the more sophisticated style for the final Arc.

I wish the smoothness of animation was as good as the best parts of Eternal movie.
I value your opinions.

A realistically optimistic expectation would be an almost complete retrace w/ a tiny lil bit new added to it. :P
She also gets 2 transformations. Seeing as how the Eternal movies messed up a solo Super henshin for part 2 for :usagi: and :chibiusa: I don't see that happening. :D #WastedOpportunity

Technically any new transformations not in the 90s anime can also be retraced from old ones, if they're lazy enough. lol Let's just hope they'd give us some decently-looking new ones if they wouldn't be that lazy.

Honestly, I stick to mine opinion thebudget would better go on other things rather than new transformations for the inners, they will die right after anyway.
If it were a TV series, yes, that'd be a waste of resources, but since it's a movie, that wouldn't be so even if it'd appear only once on the screen. :)

.....and maybe interaction.
We're gonna get more of that in Part 2 (if they do still plan a 2 parter) as its mostly the evil :ami::minako::rei::haruka::hotaru::setsuna::mihiru: spamming team combo spells at :usagi:.

And just like before the first few stock footages will have priority and the last won't be as awesome :booze:

Quite the opposite. On tv it would save budget eating time, for a movie you spend quite amount for making a scene used once.
Why it's a waste for a TV series if it appears only once: it's not reusable, hence uneconomic, i.e. it can save budget by eating time only once & not in every episode nor even multiple times in the same episode.
Why it's not for a movie: it's already supposed to have a higher budget than a TV series, & scenes are already expected to be used only once & not repeated like in a TV series.

I think Stars will add the Starlights wearing female outfits and the revival of the dead senshi i.e. Twin river senshi and Kinmoku Senshi.

Actually you are right, in Stars they will transform once anyway, even on a tv show. So it is outright useless in both cases to spend much on the transformations, considering these better be spend on attacks for both senshi and animamates as we are getting a lot of them. My biggest issue is looking at Moon Gorgeous Meditation so many times, especially in part 2. Instead of blown out transformations, they should invest in good looking real times attack and make it more dynamic for Stars, because it is really all Usagi doing it over and over again. It is not like the budget rule apply to Crysternal anyway, so they better cut corners in the right places.

oh no, I need fresh actual and modern designers please
Ikuko Itou would be a good choice though. From the market perspective people will love it, also she is the one with the best faces, she gives them proportional noses and mouths and she can do nice profiles - something Crystal is constantly struggling with, plus she will most likely take the job of animation director as well, which will make everything more consistent. According to ANN Tadano was not involved in part 2 and it shows with the inconsistent designs there. I still like that one animator that posted an Eternal Sailor Moon illustration on twitter. Cannot find it though :( And of course Sailor Crisis, but this is a dream of mine and I know most people are against her Yukie Sako-like style, I personally find it gorgeous.

I havent checked the manga but this could be the last chance for a group transformation, like they do in precure. i don’t mind if the choreographies are the same, but give us some new angles and maybe interaction.
This is exactly what S1 of Crystal did but they used the wrong type of animation people weren't happy with. All five senshi had relatively new choreography, with different angles, especially Mercury, Mars, and definitely Venus. S3 and not even Eternal had been as immersive when they transformed as S1-2 of Crystal was. Had they animated the actual girls transformations in S1-2 like they did World Shaking in the Eternal movie, the transformations would have been perfect, imo. The effects are okay but the girls themselves look strange. They should have whoever did World Shaking, Nehellania's banishment, Flame Sniper, and Mercury's water sequence strick exclusively to the transformations and give them enough time to do them.

The choreography was nice in s1-2 but these 3d models looked dead. Especially Moon, the angles were nice, the story-boarding was quite good as well, but it was a really bad call making these CGI. Season 3 was choppy and Eternal too safe and bland.

I only hope they will correct the moon chalice mistake in the transformation. It's easy, Usagi could use the Silver Moon Crystal Power instead of the moon chalice and that's it. In the manga, the grail is the symbol of the unity between the 10 Solar Sailor Senshis. When they're not together the grail is supposed to disappear like in the beginning of the Dream arc, but in Stars it doesn't, Usagi keeps summoning it even if her friends are being killed one after another. So, Usagi couldn't transform in that regard. :P I know they won't, but it's a small detail to consider.

Her style looks fine but looks like a nightmare to draw for Toei business execs. I really like how Sailor Crisis draws her (or his) version. Usagi looks full figured and not so thin like in S1-S2. Also like the brooches. They look much better too.

I also love that it has all the good stuff about Sakou, like hair and skirts, nice lips and nose and it actually has a more realistic, full figure proportions. This is something Toei cannot work with for sure, but in a dream world... Realistically speaking aged-up Tadano would be fine. Like this one sketch of Eternal Sailor Moon by one of the animators that I cannot find anymore.
