Episode 7
This time the theme song starts without its opening notes, jump right into the sung part.
The subs for Makoto’s and Minako’s lyrics are still switched.
Usagi: “How did you become Tuxedo Mask?” - - “How” should be “Why”.
The flashback of the car crash actually gives us a look at some the moments Mamoru spent with his parents before the accident, including an actual glimpse of his parents.
“God.” - - not too sure how accurate that translation is.
Before Usagi leaves, Mamoru stops her for a moment and calls her “Usako” for the first time.
On her way, Usagi decides to call Mamoru “Mamo-chan”.
At the Secret Base, which has some very Greek-looking architecture in it, Luna is communicating with someone who seems to be Sailor V.
First true appearance of Queen Metalia.
And we get a flashback to pre-queen Beryl finding the Dark Kingdom and Metalia at D-Point. And even in back then, Beryl had long, pointy fingers.
In the present, Beryl isn’t 100% fully loyal to Metalia and wants the Silver Crystal for herself.
The sign on the store is subbed as “Rental Shop Dark”. And in this version, it’s a DVD rental store instead of a video rental store.
Ami’s doing research on Sailor V.
Umino turns into a black silhouette that looks not too unlike Professor Tomoe in the 90’s anime.
“V-chan” is kept in the subs.
Usagi can’t find her handkerchief, not knowing she dropped it at the masquerade before and that Mamoru has it now.
Even in the manga, I was a little weirded out by Usagi and Mamoru rubbing their faces into the objects belonging to the other person.
The Sailor V game sprite is speaking to Usagi again.
The transformation sequences for Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter are skipped and bypassed in this episode.
“Moon Prism Power, Make up!” is subbed like so.
Sailor Moon displays some great competence by immediately starting with Moon Healing Escalation from the get-go.
Sailor Moon’s speech is subbed as “You imposed upon innocent people… it’s an unforgivable sin! I will punish you in the name of the Moon…”
The attacks in this show are
huge compared to those of the 90’s anime!
Sweet! Tuxedo Kamen punched Zoisite in the face!
Zoisite manifests a large crystal to kill Sailor Moon with, like he once did in the 90’s anime.
In this version, the fifth Sailor Soldier blasts the crystal instead of Zoisite himself.
But she does strike him with her compact, non-fatally though.
Cliffhanger ending on her arrival.
Next episode is the big moment we've waited for.
