Okay, so I was making myself some personal screencaps for Act 29 when I noticed something different about Ami-chan/Sailor Mercury.
Did she lose weight? Maybe she changed her contact lenses? Nope. (Well, any one of those statements could probably be true, but I digress...)
Her henshin hair grew. See the attached pictures ("exhibits") for a comparison.
Hopefully, I'm not the first person to notice this, but I am the first person to make a big deal out of it enough to start a conversation about it. (I used the '
search' function just to make sure it wasn't already discussed.)
Now that it has been established that we've seen Mercury with bordering collar length hair, I pose this question to anybody willing to answer: Why is Mercury's hair longer? Is it a working attempt to make her compete with the other senshi for longest hair length? Is she not T3H SEX enough with the short hair, so the producers/higher-ups/etc. decided for her to grow it? Is it so her wig hair length can match that of her normal form*? Or is it all just an optical illusion? Please, please, help out a fledgling n00b13.
*Chisaki Hama never got her hair cut for the role, so I find this possible reason to be the most plausible...

Remember, this was the first episode since Ami-chan became good again after the whole 'Darkury' angle/saga.
