I AM WEAKKKKKK!

I've never seen this one before. I had a feeling the original director had some credit since I also heard he directed some One Piece movies or something. I wonder if he was behind some of the fights in Crystal..not the actual falling down but organization of the choreography, like Venus running up the wall like a Crescent Ninja.

I figured something was up when I saw a tweet where he said something about he will never work for Toei ever again or something to that effect. Seemed pissed. Who knows.

I know folks don't mind waiting but it has been a while and I'd like to see something anime related to Crystal. They must be planning hard or still in limbo about what to do.

Sailor Moon seems like it was a stressful project. I remember one time hearing an alleged rumor from the old moon days of the animators being locked in a room or something and weren't released until their art was finished..lol I wonder if it was really like that as an animators?

Being an animator is stressful enough. I have an animator friend who worked on Dora who quit years ago due to occupational health reasons of the industry.

Base on what we already know Sailormoon is sadly low priority on TOEI's list.

I've read here that the guy they had over Crystal really had no experience with a full magical girl show and Toei threw it on him and I believe he was ridiculed for it or something.
He directed Suite Precure in 2011 and that show was also a production mess but for a good reason.

Wouldn't be the first time they "played it safe" after a real tragedy (see Ohranger after the 1995 Sarin Gas attacks, see also Gokaiger because of that same tsunami).

As for Crystal s1, it was one of 8 Toei shows airing that year and having that many shows worked on at the same time will cause problems. Even that year's Precure, Happiness Charge, was a mess and that was directed by the same guy who worked on Heartcatch Precure, the series that everyone liked.

I can't find them now but both Munehisa and Sakie - the character designer had mentioned somewhere they were screwed by Toei. I still cant believe they convinced Tadano to come back when she was very vocal about their bad treatment and schedules years ago

Maybe she is one of the reasons of the delay - it probably took time to convince her and make her happy with a not so stressful schedule, as this was her main problem in the past. I hope she delivers at least and some needed refinement to compensate for that. The moment they release a visual we will know what to expect.

Seriously everyone just needs to calm down. The film is coming when its coming.

I'm still banking on mid next year to coincide with Super S classic being released on blu-ray. It's an obvious cash in.

The Japanese production committe system is notorious laborious in its decision making process but its not going to change overnight as that is how most anime is financed and run these days.

Just be glad you are not a Yamato 2199 fan which faced a botched release and then a LONNNNNG wait and FINALLY it's getting the 2 box limited edition treatment it deserves from Funimation.

None of us has said they want the movie out this instant. I personally it would be nice to see designs, Other studios announce movies with a vague release date. I know they need time, but to have zero info two years is not ok for a show as popular as Sailor Moon. It has a main stream status, not something niche.

lol Voyager, remember when they had that Japanese model promote their release with those awkward news videos? P-:

The Japanese release had subs from the beginning so it made no sense for Voyager to redo them like they did. They should have just imported those discs and modified the cover & disc art with the Star Blazers name, especially since they weren't going to continue past that test dub that Bang Zoom did for them.

As for FUNi, the only real positive of them getting it is that it includes 2202 which Japan didn't sub for their discs.

LOL Miyazaki's new film was announced early last year and apart from a title ZERO info and supposedly a lead time of 3 - 4 years.

Miyzaki is undoubtedly bigger than Sailor Moon will ever be.

Once again Miyazaki being well known as a person who works on a movie for years. Nothing new, nothing surprising. Plus the animation Ghibli are doing is way different than anything else anime. His movie is original as well, not adaptation of something that was out for 25 years, and it is not a continuation of something that started almost 5 years ago. The second a Violet Garden film was announced it was announced with a release date - January 2020. When Miyazaki works on a film people know it will take ages because he is a perfectionist and you expect quality from him and they still have a vague date or period of time for a movie announced less than an year. This cannot be said for Toei.

As much as I hate to say it - the blame probably lies with Naoko imposing a very laborious approvals process.

The Japanese production committe system means it has to go through many people before something gets approved.

However I think Naoko's influence shows here as compare the relese of the CCS Novels to the Sailor Moon novels - so far all of Clow Card, Sakura Card and Clear Card has been released for CCS and yet there is only *1* novel published for Sailor Moon. - Now why I ask you ?. Both are huge magical girl franchises, both very successful both in Japan and overseats - what's the difference ?

It wont be next summer. It is out of the question if they just started working on the script in March-April. This is why we are kind a angry.
LOL I could say the same about CCS Clear Card goodness knows how long of a wait till we see the continuation - stopping the anime right at the latest chapter - they should have waited longer
