Ok, today at home we are child free for once, so it will be all day musicals. I am a first time watcher so I hope they are good.Has anybody seen the Nogizaka one? I am not a fan, but the trailer for team Star looks so good. I do not know why I am asking this here, but oh well, do not kill me - Which team is worth watching? It is 3 hours long, and I cannot see both. :D

Team Star's performance and the musical itself are wonderful. :)

Where can I read the novelizations of the Sailor Moon musicals in English?
Sea of Serenity.Net here you can download the musicals with English subtitles. The people managing the site did a wonderful job translating them. I am watching them now and started loving them. I had some odd predjudice, but the medium is quite fun. So far I have seen the Nogizaka 46 (I watched Team Star I compared few scenes with team Moon, but Team Star are in my opinion way better) one and La Reconquista. I recommend them both. Tomorrow I will watch La petite estrangere. La Reconquista is getting a novellization, but it was just released in Japan an I doubt they will ever translate it. Watch the musical, it is a lot of fun. I still liked the Nogizaka one better, but I am biased manga fan.

For anyone else who's curious, here's my attempt at summarizing / partially translating the LR novelization. I hope it gets an official translation some day, but that's unlikely. I wonder why LR was the only musical to get novelized though. Was it poor sales? Did Takuya Hiramitsu not want to novelize the other musicals?

Wonderful, thank you for all the effort. I just want to ask about the name of the old Beryl henchwoman. Is her nane Barbar? In the musical I hear Baba. I might hear it wrong, but Baba makes sense as she is an old hag.

And which is your favorite musical? I started with the newer ones as they are easier to get into for a newbie. I am sure the older ones would be a bit harder for someone unfamiliar to appreciate.

The official pamphlet used the spelling "Barbar," so that's what I went with.

I absolutely loved the Team Star version of the NogiMyu. Loved La Reconquista but wasn't really fond of the other recent musicals (though I thought Un Nouveau Voyage had a lot of great songs; "Music of the Spheres" is probably my favorite song from the "New Myu" era). As for the older musicals... I've really only watched them through once because they're kind of long and cringey and whatnot, but the first Dracul musical is entertaining and I really liked the Black Moon Clan one (I think it's called Birth of the Princess of Darkness Black Lady or something?). The Infinity arc one (Mistress Labyrinth) was also pretty good from what I recall.

How many of the Sailor Moon concerts are subtitled or fan subbed?
The ones that have been released on either VHS or DVD have been subtitled. Here are some sources you can go to download the subbed series:

* The Musicals from the 90's-2005 (By Bandai, split into 3 stages): Miss Dream (Some have been subbed), Sea of Serenity and Sera Myu Antics (They subbed all)
* The Musicals from 2013 and 2017 (by Nelke) have been subbed my Miss Dream (removed) and Sea of Serenity
* The Musicals featuring Nogizaka48 have been subbed by Sea of Serenity the 2019 Musical hasn't been released on DVD yet but surely SOS will sub them soon.

The Musical Concert featuring the cast from PGSM (2003 Live Action Tokusatsu Series) can be viewed here.

Hi! I have never watched a SM Myusical before. Which one is considered the best?
Well, I doubt there is such title. I just started watching them and the newer ones are easier to follow. I tried one of the oldies and they demand a required taste. Nogizaki46 one is quite good, La Reconquista was quite fun as well. La Petite Estrangere was a bit slow... But it has nice songs. Overall you have to try and if you don't like it, you can always stop watching. It is a bit cringe at first, and some of the singers, as well as the songs are not the best, but it is good. I started with the Nogizaka 46 Team Star, the most impressive songs were performed by the Dark Kingdom. If you like musicals in general, there is no reason to not like the Myus.

Lol. Un Noveau Voyage is amazing. I watched the first half of it. Overall I completely changed my view on the musicals. At least we have a ton of new Sailor Moon experience that still feels fresh. It will fill the time to Eternal.

So much of the Sailor V manga involves idols, so it should be easy to turn it into a musical. The question is how to expand Usagi and co.'s roles in the story beyond brief cameos as I'm not sure Nelke/Toei would be willing to invest in a Sailor V musical that didn't more heavily feature the other Sailors / I'm not sure if there are enough Sailor V fans in Japan to make a V musical financially worthwhile. Therefore I think a musical "inspired by" the Sailor V manga is more likely than a musical that's a straightforward adaptation of it.

Favourite songs from the Nelke Musicals? For me it is definitely Unmei no Gonin, Sailor Destiny. This gave me a feeling me of watching a musical. Especially the Dark Kingdom part and the final verse where both parties sing in unison.Cannot wait to see the 2019 version with the new cast. Do you know if they replaced Beryl? Nami Tamaki was chilling. I know her as a singer, but she was a very decent Beryl.

Hmm... maybe more silver millennium flashback sequences? They could elaborate on the past princesses' personalities as well
