Sailor Saturn is my favorite since I was a child, and it still angers me how she barely appeared.

I thought about episode 125 where she breaks free from Mistress 9 and thought of a more interesting way for her to be awakened.
------------------------------------------------------
Instead, while Hotaru is making Mistress 9 struggle sub-consciously, imagine if a purple Lip Rod suddenly appeared in front of Mistress 9 due to Hotaru's hope. Mistress 9 is still fighting w/ Hotaru and is resisting the urge to grab it saying "no no don't grab that" but Hotaru is like "yes leave my body! this is my power."

So Hotaru/Mistress 9 finally grabs the rod which THEN causes Mistress 9 to disintegrate like in the original. But unlike the original, a naked glowing Hotaru is in her place with the rod now and shouts Saturn Planet Power, Make Up. Fully transformed, she teleports away.
-------------------------------------------------------
I honestly don't know why the old anime did not have Hotaru appear in Mistress 9's spot when she killed her. Just a floating symbol. Lame.

And why don't we see Saturn fight Pharaoh 90? I think a really good way to put icing on the cake that was that heartfelt scene would be to show Super Sailor Moon entering Pharaoh 90 inside.

Saturn is hacking and slashing with her Glaive and turns around to see Sailor Moon who says "I will protect you, Sailor Saturn." Even though Saturn claimed she is no longer Hotaru, it seems Hotaru is still there and she tears up and says "Thank you....... Usagi...!" Then screen goes white to the part after in the original episode.

Why did they not do this..... :( lol

Even in Stars. The most obvious place she could've fit in would be to put her in episode 190 during the fight against Sailor Amuse. Silence Wall anyone? Even when Usagi was sad about Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna arguing with the Starlights, Hotaru could've been the one to comfort her.

I do like these ideas and would have loved for these ideas to be included in the anime. I would also add that her line about not being Hotaru anymore was more symbolic about her new role as Sailor Saturn but Sailor Saturn and Hotaru are definitely the same person. I would especially like that in your take on this when Hotaru grabs the Lip Rod that we get a full transformation scene for Hotaru in the same vein as the other Outer Senshi.

However personally one of the reasons I had issues with Sailor Stars was the lack of use of the Outer Senshi and placement of the Starlights in their place so I would definitely have liked better for the Outers to have been used more and I definitely like the idea of Hotaru comforting Usagi. One thing I thought would be great would maybe for their to be an episode that is Hotaru centric where she is maybe missing Chibiusa and focusing on that. Maybe Hotaru could even go to Chibiusa's school and become friends with Momoko and Kyuusuke. Another episode that I think could be Outer Senshi centric is maybe for Professor Tomoe to come back in and want to see his daughter. It could be resolved with Haruka, Michiru and Setsuna moving in with Hotaru and her father and helping raise her. Maybe their could even be episodes showing Setsuna and Professor Tomoe growing closer paving the way for a romance between the two. Also I would definitely like to see her get a full attack animation and one for Silence Wall to. Maybe her main attack could have been Death Reborn Revolution where she shoots a Outer Planet ball like the others but when the attack hits it bursts into purple energy ribbons. Of course I would have also like for the Outers to have gained Super transformations in Sailor Stars akin to the Inners and even be given Crystal Change Rods. I would also have liked to give them Super attacks. One thing that might be interesting for Hotaru is if she showed a dislike for Seiya for trying to woo Usagi because of her relationship with Chibiusa.

I honestly love all these ideas. Hotaru is super under-developed and it sucks that she didn't get any filler episodes!

I really love the idea of her missing Chibiusa as and episode and her going to their school. At the end of the episode she has to protect them from a Phage or something. Such a missed opportunity lol. One of my other ideas was that in a filler episode Hotaru and Setsuna see the Inner Senshi on a nice day and they remark on how Hotaru seems to have grown back to her age in the S season. I don't know what the plot would be, but I do think that she should've gotten at least 3 filler episodes. Plus, Hotaru was drawn very inconsistently. When she finally awakened in ep 168 out of her bedroom, she's back to the age in S. But in the following episodes, she's back to a little girl. And when she transforms into Saturn, sh'es not exactly the height in S, but not exactly little either. *shrugs*

Death Reborn Revolution would've been awesome as a stock footage attack, since, interestingly, Silence Glaive Surprise seems to have switched its power in the anime than from the manga (why would they do that).

In the manga, SGS is like a "stock footage" attack. In the anime, it's the opposite so it would make sense for Death Reborn to be a stock footage attack.

I still find it baffling how the Starlights usurped the Outer Senshi's spotlight and got main roles. In the manga they were fairly minor, and even died by Mnemosyne and Lethe's river before the real final battle. They got 2 transformations while Saturn got none? Shame

I even think her roles in Stars as a whole were in vain. Her attack didn't even work against Nehellenia and she didn't put up a fight against Galaxia (for the sake of plot I guess). In the battle against Nehellenia I don't see why Silence Gliave Surprise could killed them both, but to keep the fact that the main character needs to save the day, Saturn's attack causes Nehellenia's dimension to fall apart and so Eternal Sailor Moon is the one to save everyone before it deteriorates with them in it forever. Plus, wouldn't she be reborn anyway? I don't know. Just a way for her awakening to not be useless yknow. Even in 168 when she appeared during the Hikawa shrine battle, she didn't even use an attack on the mirror ladies.. it was Uranus who did.

Lastly I think she could've easily been inserted into the Black Dream Hole movie due to Pluto's appearance being nonsensical.

But yeah that's the end of my Sailor Saturn tangent; she just is so separated from the others.

I definitely agree with most of the things you say here Science Project 88 the only thing I disagree on is including Sailor Saturn in the SuperS movie. Sailor Pluto could probably be explained away but Sailor Saturn's presence wouldn't be able to. That being said it would have been nice if there was a Sailor Moon Sailor Stars movie where Sailor Saturn could have shined all though I think you would also agree with me that when it comes right down to it all of the Outers should have came back in SuperS instead of waiting till Sailor Stars and got their Super forms and attacks. Then maybe in Sailor Stars all of the Senshi could go Eternal like Sailor Moon.

------------------------------------------------------

Mistress 9 is still fighting w/ Hotaru and is resisting the urge to grab it saying "no no don't grab that" but Hotaru is like "yes leave my body! this is my power."

I also wanted to redo this scene, and I had planned a fanfic where this was going to happen.

One big difference I would have had would have been to see what was happening in the mind of Mistress 9. In that mindscape, many of the past victims -- it would have been implied she has taken the hearts of others -- of Mistress 9 were statues in a ruined urban landscape, visually echoing Rei's premonition. The only ones that would be mobile would be Chibi-Usa and Hotaru, who is completely discouraged. Chibi-Usa would counter that she knows what it is like and shares memories of herself as Black Lady, but then Mistress 9 appears and interjects, reminding Chibi-Usa that it was her own insecurities which helped fuel that transformation. Mistress 9 claims Hotaru doesn't even exist and is just the ghost of a persona that is no longer needed. Chibi-Usa then begins to turn into a statue to Hotaru's horror.

Hotaru says she does not know how to fight, but she stands up to Mistress 9. She starts using the powers she displayed in previous episodes (forcefield creation to block Mistress 9's hair, draining her by the hair, etc) and fights back.

During the fight, the world flutters out of existence and Hotaru is standing before the heroes, but now her body is different. She realizes that she is now in control of Mistress 9 and begs the heroes* to finish her off while she still has control, but they don't. Then Mistress 9 reasserts control, taking Hotaru back to the dreamworld, and mocks the heroes for falling for the "trick," but the heroes fight all the harder as that was the real Hotaru.

Hotaru realizes that Mistress 9 can't turn her into a statue and the symbol of Saturn glows on her forehead. The Silence Glaive appears before her, and Hotaru knows what she must do. Grabbing the . Then she quotes Mankind...

"Destruction...can be beautiful."

She lowers the glaive, destroying the world and Mistress 9. In the real world,, Mistress 9 grabs her head and collapses in the pain, and the glaive pierced her forehead from within, splitting her head in two as Saturn emerges with Chbii-Usa's heart crystal, then teleports and gives it to her. Then Saturn would fight alongside the dwindling heroes to beat the true villain.

*Yes, some other things happen differently in this fanfic idea.
