As we all know, being the multi-media franchise that it is Sailor Moon has more differences between it's versions than most Manga > Anime franchises do. Not only in it's story and plot elements or characterizaiton but even in it's romantic pair-ups. Alot of this has to do with the franchise taking a very "many different cooks in the kitchen" approach. Naoko is not the sole contributor or even creator of Sailor Moon: There's also corporations involved like Toei, Bandai, Kodansha, even her own editor Osabu could technically be credited as Sailor Moon's "true creator" since he was the one who pitched the idea from the very start. All these different involvements brings many different people working on their franchise, each with their own unique shipping biases.
Probably the one shipping element that's forever remained consistent between the versions are that the main couples always remain canon regardless, I'm talking about: Usagi/Mamoru, Haruka/Michiru, Chibi-Usa/Helios, (One-sided) Usagi/Seiya, Demande's obsession with NQS, Chibi-Usa's rather disturbing crush on Mamoru (taken more seriously in the Manga/Crystal) Luna/Artemis and Kenji/Ikuko (not really a "main" couple, but important in the creation of Usagi nontheless) All other shippings however seem to be fair game depending on the version you consume. So for this thread I thought I'd do a fun little experiment of listing out all the attempted ships between the versions and you can comment which continuity's ships you prefer overall. I will also include Original Character shippings not present in the manga at all such as Ail/En and Mamoru/Fiore, I'll even do the old Optimum dub's attempt at shipping just for the heck of it. Let's go!

As you can see, by far the biggest edition to the ships was the 90's anime, which version's set-up of ships do you prefer? I'd say overall I prefer the 90's anime interpretation of ships but I do appreciate the Manga for giving us stuff like Reinako, Minako/Ace, Minako/Kunzite, Chibi-Usa/Hotaru, Minako/Usagi, Beryl/Endymion, and Pluto/Endymion. There happens to be more ships I love that are a 90's anime invention than ships I love that are from the Manga (While the Manga/Crystal has ships I actively dislike like Sen/Shi, besides Venus/Kunzite) What say you?
