Also, someone suggested on Twitter that these covers may have been done for the Ice Skating show that was delayed.
Now that I see it I find it totally possible. That would explain the dynamic and "weird" poses and the reason why we don't see their feet, not even the upper part of Sailor Moon's boots at all.
Mercury's cover is a bit more weird. The pose is quite "skaty" and the way her feet disappear is also suspicious.

I can definitely see these cover illustrations as having been recently done with the idea of using them to promote the ice show.
But Usagi's holding roses, which makes me think of the cover illustration for the art book that was announced in 2017 where all the girls are holding roses, so possibly these illustrations were done way back then? And they've been working on this since around then? Perhaps the art books have been delayed because they wanted to include these covers and thus wait until the color editions could be released?
Whatever the case, I can't wait to get these! I hope fans outside of Japan will be able to get (DRM-free) copies. Only 3 more days!!!!!

It says on the official site that she is supervising, so probably not. I hope I will be able to buy it on Monday, outside Japan.

Or they are just seeing if it sells good enough in digital to release a printed version which will be more expensive.
I believe it was supposed to be paired with Sailor Moon on ice as they are basically figure skating. Hard to imagine Haruka doing it though. I am super happy it is digital release as well. I mean everybody wants it printed and hard covered, but I find color art popping up much better in digital format. And it would cost oh so much.
