Hmmm...no. Even though the execution of the character design is well made, nice colours and shadows, I find it too simple and not dynamic. I hope it's going to be very different from season 3.

Okay, THIS looks totally like Naoko and I actually like it. Although it looks a bit flat and very mangaesque, I think this could work.

He will be on anime expo. But for the bday we also have Kotono and Chibi Usa's voice actor as well. Considering Chibi Usa being important this arc the announcment might come from them. If he doesn't know anything again he will be the only one watching this masterpiece.

They never do. But we assume it as they always do mention something at the bday and because of the special guests this yar Misato Fukuen and Kotono. They were not there last year, so most people assume they are attending for a reason. Especially Fukuen.

Who is Fukuen? What part has that person taken in the Crystal project?

If I remember correctly, one of the issues with season 1 and 2’s character designs was that it was too detailed and hard to animate. I think that’s why they simplified it for season 3. But also, seasons 1 and 2, they were literally pushing out episodes as they went, that’s why they would only put out an episode every other week. So maybe with a movie budget and more time to animate, they can have something not as simple as season 3’s character designs. But it seems like Toei doesn’t give Crystal any prep time, even though there are long gaps between announcements.

I just don’t want to see those Doritos skirts again LOL

I like the realistic odango in her hair, they eyes are perfect, as well as all the details and the lips are just right. He made it look both pretty, elegant and yet so expressive. The pain... You can feel it. If she had the watch instead of the music box it would have been wonderful. I hope we get something like this. All his scetches are pretty good but this one stands out for me. If Tadano makes similar designs, with all the details, etheral feel and expression, I would wait till my 50s for them to readapt the manga again from scratch.

I don't like the o-dango at all. Sakou Yukie's odango is the best. Akira's hair is quite good, it looks silky and not very elaborate.
7 days to the Rabbits' birthday.

Akira's bubbly hair wasn't good at all - it was gummy and was done well by one animation director in a frame or two in the opening and the Tellu epsode, but she kind a did her own details, which were not part of his designs. I agree on Yukie Sakou - she did the hair well, except on some blu ray covers - and this was more coloring issue than with her art. I really think her art would have worked for the full run of the show, if the animators were not so bad and didn't screw her art.
As for Season III I don't blame everything on Akira. I think Chiaki Kon asked him to do it this way. Based on her prior work she always seem to use similar more moe kind of designs. I recently watched Golden Time and I spotted a feel recurring stuff that she probably inserted on Crystal as well - However it is just speculation on my part, but Akira directed several episodes of Crystal 1 and 2 and simplified the designs a lot, but his take felt significantly different there than Season III. I hope she won't meddle with Tadano.

Question, does anybody know at what time that Usagi/Chibi-Usa birthday event start? I so hope we gonna get some news regarding Dream movies, preferably both character designed and release date :)

I actually wondered the same thing. Last year the show got broadcast on nico nico, so I was wondering will they do it again this year. While I have a feeling we might not get exact release date, I really hope to see these designs. We sure waited long enough and if they end up being just a minor update of Akira's it would have been for nothing.
And I found the answer for the time: 1st Part 15:30-2nd Part 18:30 - Fingers crossed
