Sailor Team No Theme from SuperS. Before the days of Youtube and digital tunes to buy, I'd pop in the DVD with that episode because the song is so damn awesome.

Moon Revenge from the R movie was another one I did that for.

Moonlight Densetsu(Moon lips), Sailor Stars, Fall in love with New Moon(Moon Pride was quite bad), Eternal Eternity, and Sailor Moon S Ending music
I disagree on Moon Pride, but I love Revo and the prog metal riffs in that song.
Fall in Love with the New Moon is good but I feel that the combined version mashup is the best version of the song. I wish that we had gotten the mashup in the last episode of season 3...

Oh man, this is so hard to choose. It'd be shorter to dredge up what few songs I don't like (I Am Sailormoon is a little clunky I guess? I can't think of one I hate, and somehow I've never tired of Moonlight Densetsu- speaking of which, Momoiro Clover Z did a nice version of it). I haven't heard PGSM's songs or any of Sera Myu yet, though; I should give them a try.

'90s Anime:
  • Sailor Star Song (The original, but there's a great Mitsuko Horie version, too... and some good BGM versions, like the slow violin one. If I had to pick one song, I'd cringe to cut the rest of the list, but, Sailor Star Song would be the one. There's also this really nice fan version (epilepsy warning))
  • Yume Miru Dakeja Dame (A sentinental one for me, since I heard of it before I even saw the show and have loved it forever. Salome Anjari did a nice Spanish version of it, too. In fact, she does nice versions of lots of things! She's great.)
  • Route Venus (Could've been a good theme for a Sailor V anime.)
  • Moon Revenge (even though the lyrics are baffling, I can't get that image of the dramatic asteroid conclusion with Serenity and Endymion and the Inner Senshi out of my head whenever I hear it.)
  • Heart Moving (Still one of my favorite ending themes, and the various isntrumental versions are great too! Although it's got stiff competition...)
  • Otome no Policy (...such as.)
  • Todokanu Omoi (I'm not so sure about the lyrics, but the sound of this one is absolutely fantastic, the far better of the two Three Lights songs. And there's two killer instrumental versions, too! Poor Alluminum Siren getting in over her head.)
  • Tsuki ni Kawatte Oshioki Yo (A great fight scene song from episode 21. The instrumental version on this one is fantastic, and I wish they'd used it in the show too.)

Miscellaneous:
  • Gasshou Kumiyoku: The Whole album! I can't pick one track, it's all amazing! That doomy version of Beryl's theme, the medley of some of the best action songs, the big finale with Tuxedo Mirage and the PC Engine end credits theme... simply wonderful. Epic in the grandiose operatic sense. Every fan of the '90s anime songs should give it a try!
  • PC Engine: Koisuru Otome wa Makenai (well worthy of being an intro theme for the anime! This would've fit right in. Glad to see someone else has heard of it around here ^_^ By the way, there's a version of it in Gasshou Kumiyoku, too.)
  • Another Story: Four Heartful Kings (I'm a sucker for all things Shitennou, and this is another great doomy theme song for them, especially this fancy instrumental CD version. Sounds like music for a dramatic last stand, although in this case it was for their ghosts appearing to reveal information about crystals to heal Mamoru.)
  • German '90s Anime: Sag das Zauberwort (there's some great fan versions of this, too! And this sorta mashup with Flieg Durch Die Wolken. I also like the Dutch version, Zeg Het Toverwoord.)
Crystal:
(The Shitennou have their own image song! And it's great! The broken robot sound is a little odd, but the song has this nice melancholy drama to it.)
(Moon Pride is nice too and I do like it, but I can't list it as a top favorite like these otehrs, just pretty high)

DiC Dub:
  • My Only Love
(I love Maboroshi no Ginzuishou and it worked well for the quiet awakening of Usagi and it suits the Silver Millennium era more in my mind, but the DiC dub's song was great in it's own right, too! A more melancholy and wistful tone. If only they didn't add a bunch of needless extra dialogue of everybody talking over it... Also, here's a nice somber string quartet version!)

'90s Anime (BGM):
  • Miracle Romance (Orgel version): (Moonlight Densetsu was already amazing, but then they did THIS, and put it in some of the most heartrending scenes of the first year- and it exists in setting, it's literally what the Orgel locket plays. I've cried to this song.)
  • Hoshizora ha Mysterious Number 5 A quaint little sentimental piano piece that always makes me think of one of my favorite episodes, 26- during it's flashback to another favorite, 24. And of that time Usagi tries to remind Mamoru about the history of Season 1 and Silver Milennium with her crayon drawings, in the Makaiju arc.
  • Sailor Uranus & Neptune Excellent action and transformation music themes, with a violin!
  • Kuroi Tsuki, Soukougeki (Black Moon, General Attack) A doomy organ piece which builds up the pace, it sounds
  • amazing! Like something from a Castlevania game. This only plays when the Phantom Sisters appear, but it's final boss material in my opinion, they should've whipped this out for Death Phantom.
  • Yuugure Toki wa Youma no Yokan (Evening Sense of Ghosts) - Part 6 Good worried action scene music that builds up the tension, it always sounds like a tragedy is about to happen. Not sure what's up with the picture choice in the video though.
  • Yuugure Toki wa Youma no Yokan (Evening Sense of Ghosts) - Part 4 Such a sad song for death scenes! It reminds me of Dragon Quest death themes, when you go to destroyed kingdoms- very fitting.
  • SuperS Movie: Performance Another really nice action scene song.
...and that's just my short list!

Wait, there's a Sailor Moon PC Engine game? Every time I think I learn more about that old system, something comes along to add to its mystique...

As for Another Story, I liked the standard boss theme, and Apsu's final form has a good beat to it.

Not only is there a PC Engine game- which, unfortunately game-design-wise, is basically a visual novel (with five viewpoints on the main story, depending on the character selected) plus a few minigames- but it's almost like some list fourth (or rather, first) movie of the '90s anime. Although some of the dialogue is just text, most of it is spoken, and it features the full voice cast of Usagi and friends (and Mamoru and the cats), plus Naru, Umino, the Shitennou, and Beryl- all prominently featured in the plot! and even the freakin' D.D. Girls from episode 45 (plus a new villain who is, weirdly, called 'Past Wiseman'). It's probably not fully "canon", but it's meant to take place in between the Makaiju arc and the Black Moon arc, and involves the plot point from the manga about the Shitennou being Endymion's team in the distant past. It also brings back the plot device of the Kurozuishou (the black crystal Nephrite made/obtained, which was stolen by Zoisite). It toys with that past life relationships thing, though it doesn't take that very far and it feels to me more like it's a passing of the torch from the old fallen team rather than a romance thing, which is kinda neat.

The fullest translation I've seen so far (although it's a little mangled-sounding, and they click through the text extremely slowly) is here (oh, make sure to turn on Closed Captioning to see the subtitles):
(Full playlist here) It takes a long time to watch though.

BGM-wise, the PC Engine game is a mixed bag. The composition is all fine, but most of the BGM is very electronic and low-fidelity sounding, and in some songs that becomes grating to listen to. Other times it's pretty catchy. The transformation sequences get their own decent little tunes too, which have fancier audio quality. But the the intro and ending songs are simply fantastic. (Also, there are full-length versions of them not played during the game, which were linked by SailorSugaBabe back on page 1)

Another Story has a lot of neat music! I love the way it captures the style of various Arisawa Takanori musical cues, yet puts it's own new spin on them, creating new songs which evoke the earlier ones. Also, Another Story and the PC Engine Game are both intriguing tie-in stories, definitely the two videogames with the most story that I know of.

I also love a lot of the BGM from the original series, especially in S.

I actually don't really like any of the Crystal music.
