I thought Toei f***ed it up with Crystermos by releasing a mess when the franchise became super popular again. I expected the hype to go dormant immediately.

Which didn’t happen. Seems like Sailor Moon’s popularity is going to stay. So Toei could drop anytime a new project, whether it’s live action or animated (or a new gaaaaaaaaame ). Instead of waiting until 2027 to have a reason. But we are anyway used to wait, aren’t we lol

I saw an AI transformation of Jupiter that looked pretty interesting.

There will be a new Sailor Moon project in the future. Sailor Moon is GOAT status and the popularity is here to stay. SM inspired a lot of us Millennials and we aren't going to forget her. Besides. Naoko will remain an icon. She and her hubbie are a power couple with both legendary anime.
I saw that too and I think AI might help to produce a good looking live action production without a a huge budget.

I guess the 2027 will be its 40 th anyversary ? Another anime reboot ? Unlikely they just finished Crystal and making a third animated reboot is unlikly.Movise animation this actually more likely they could make original films. That takes place after Stars.
Games the brand seems more for women.

Live action films or shows that could be something I guess partnership with Netflix.

35th anniversary. The 40th anniversary will be in 2031/2032.

Next year would mark the 35th anniversary of the start of the manga and 2027 is the 35th anniversary of the original anime, so in either one of those years I would anticipate some kind of new project.

I feel like the most likely scenario is a new live action series or a film (or series of films).

I just feel like anything anime related feels unlikely to me with Kotono making it clear that she has no plans to return as Usagi. If we do get a new anime, it would have to either be a reboot which feels too soon, or if it’s a sequel it would need to focus on Chibimoon by default and I just do not see her having as much of a draw. My personal preference would be a Sailor V anime, but I think it’s unlikely for the same reasons as a Chibimoon sequel unfortunately.

The worst case scenario, and we’ve seen this with Digimon and Doremi, Toei may just release a 5 minute celebratory animated music video or PV on 2027 and call it a day.

That said, I am still perplexed by those comments Naoko made about a potential new Sailor Guardian. It could very have been a mistranslation or she was just saying that she thinks about new Sailor Guardians all the time, but it does not necessarily mean that she is actually planning on introducing one.

Guys, forget about the 35th or even 40th anniversary. The only date we should mark on our calendars is Naoko's children finally graduating. Because packing bento and walking them to school is what kept her busy every day, and precluded any chance of returning back to work. That's what all the fans were telling me for past 20 years or so. Just imagine all the new manga and stories we'll get from Naoko when that day finally comes. :oh:

Her son already graduated. He was born in 2001. Now we just have to to wait for her daughter who was born in 2008. If she doesn't go into medicine, she should graduate in 2030. Then for sure, we'll get a new manga by our Queen!

It's unlikely, but maybe she could make a sequel manga .With an adaption of that.Maybe a story that takes place in the future.I agree live action for any new adaption would be the most logical thing.Animes don't usually make 3 animated reboots and would be too soon to do one.
