They should have thought about it a very long time ago. There was almost a year bettwen the end of season 3 and the announcment the so called sequel will be two movies. What did they do all that time. I really thing they will cancel these... It just been too long of a break. People got tired of waiting and interest fades by the minute. Bad planning and zero marketing on their part honestly makes me thing they have silently canceled it. Keep in mind they have a history of not announcig canceled projects officially and let people hang for a decade with no official statement. So if this Usagi birthday pass without a mention of these films it will be safe to assume tjey are scrapped.
If that is the case where it's scrapped, then I'm giving up on Toei Animation (or rather, modern Toei) forever, Saintia Sho is just so typical of what modern Toei Animation is doing: playing it cheap, cutting corners, disrespecting fans. All they're doing is is running their old franchises in the ground and just focusing on the freaking Precure series, like that's all they want instead!! :x

In short, they're now being lazy & have lost their creativity, i.e. their will/courage to take risks - doing it safe & recycling their past works are alright for their survival/profitability in the short run, but that's actually costing their future in the long run.

Despite giving us the old Sailor Moon, Toei has always been a lazy bastards. I have seen a thing done by them that I have never seen before. The year was 1982 and they decided to animate a popular for the time manga, called Aishite Knight. So they made a charming, slightly more childish adaptation with a fun opening sequence that has a blonde girl on every frame, together with the main cast. The problem... This blonde main heroine is never to be seen in the show itself. Toei decided the manga blonde heroine is not Japanese enough and changed her hair color and hair style. The op was already done with the initial blonde chara design, so they decided they are to lazy to fix it and had it for all 42 episodes. Now this is something I have never seen - the main character to have a completely different design on the op and the show itself. Toei were always the same cheap [BLEEP].

In the shadows throwing roses at you
well look at it like this there's no new news at the moment why walk in circles like a chicken with it's head cut off about it
do something else like discuss the lore of the series or play one of the classic videogames or fan games to keep busy till there's some news

Yeah...if they go bankrupt though, I'd like Sailor Moon's new home to be with either Sunrise, Madhouse, or AIC.

True, but I don't know about discussing the lore or not (like I mentioned in the thing with the bad experiences I had with some people, I'm afraid that could get repeated), and I don't know how many fan games are coming out now or what good fan ones exist (one of the videos in the thread which was a disgusting R-18 one, I want nothing to do with those types of games and I actually, believe it or not, took down the video and managed to terminate that user). It's just, I don't want Sailor Moon's popularity and love to disappear and fade away (which is what I got scared of considering all those rabid Crystal fans I had the misfortune of meeting), and sometimes, I dunno I why I even build up expectations sometimes, it's like every time I try to give new stuff the benefit of the doubt, something happens that makes me even more disappointed/sad than I felt before.

TOEI needed Naoko Takeuchi's womb to conceive "Sailor Moon."

"Precure," on the other hand, is TOEI's legitimate baby.
You mean their cow they keep milking over and over again. The udder only holds so much milk though.

I think we will have other series / movie series in next decades. It will not end with Crystal.

@Crystal Moon Your word in Serenity's ear, m8. :) Btw... @sapphire91 Oh great, now I have a combined ear- and eyeworm, seeing/hearing the Intro in my mind all over again and again. I even should still have the full song floating around somewhere on my HDD.

I'm also quite optimistic about that, tho. lol Crystal may've ended, but not the franchise. :)
Well, the life action is not well regarded, if Crystal get canceled in te end I don't see Toei try anything with it. As long as tey exst no otherstudio can do it. And considering te fact toei is one of te first studios and very big and powerful. There is no chance of their demise.

I don't see Crystal being deleted or delayed. They are working on it, choosing a new designer, releasing a game with that design.
Maybe after many failures, they stop "boasting" about it and work in silence.
One thing I find really stupid is that there is no new toys, figures to remind people about Crystal. It could be a shopping card, a series of notebooks. I feel every advertisement campaign came and end quickly after Crystal being on air.

W/ a timespan of decades later, the new guys in charge of Toei by then could have different thinkings or a confidence that they could handle it better (whether it'd turn out to be so is another matter, of course lol ).

Lol. You cannot erase the legacy of Sailor Moon. It's been 27 years. Me thinks the problem is that SM keeps with the same dated story. I find it insane that shows like DBZ and everything else can get new does to face but we can't get that with SM. No new adventures or challenges to build hype off of either. Be cool if we had a new antagonist.

I'm also wondering about the length of this movie and just what they have to animate. All the Senshi appear in this movie. We have characters undergoing several forms, new attacks and very "colorful" villains. Double Moon Gorgeous Meditation...etc.

They have a lot to consider when plotting out this movie. Just things they need to be really careful about this one and how it paces for sure.
