If you could add scenes to Sailor Moon, what would they be?

Probably one where Michiru and Haruka have finger rings.

Also something with the cats having their powers unveiled to the Tsukinos. Although it would probably mean that the parents freak out about not having had their door closed when both Usagis and Shingo are out of the house and decided that was a good opportunity only for one of the cats to hear them.

I do remember Luna having quite the time in Ami's hands and arms on introduction to her which made her forget what she was doing at the time.

Flashback of the destruction of Silver Millenium by :hotaru:.

Thankgoodness for Crystal Season 3. Can't imagine this scene with bad animation from Crystal Season 1. I ::love:: the meme but don't ::love:: it that much. :booze:

^ but Pluto will be punished, she has it hard enough as it is :setsuna::booze:
It is Minako’s fault.

She fell in love with the TV reporter, to begin with.

Now everybody knows Minako’s identity and people are starting to become suspicious of her friends.

They have caused nothing but trouble to Pluto since day 1.

Minako getting a better backstory episode in season 1.

A few that popped into my head:

Regarding the '90s anime:
+ More scenes that flesh out Ami, Rei, Makoto and Minako's home life and their parents. We got a tiny peak with Ami, but I feel like it was a huge miss that we got nothing for the rest of the girls. Even if their back stories ended up being changed, it would have been interesting to see the 90s anime's interpretations of Rei's issues with her father, especially with her characterization being quite different from her manga counterpart.
+ More scenes revolving around Setsuna and Hotaru in general. They are shafted hard in later seasons, which is nonsense. I don't mind filler, and I think the '90s anime shines with a lot of its filler episodes. But when the series constantly chooses to focus on characters that appear only in one episode over the main cast... it's a problem.
+ Scenes that allow the audience to actually buy into Mamoru and Usagi's romance. While frankly I'm not a die-hard Miracle Romance shipper, and I think the earlier seasons do a better job at this, I think this is something that could be added onto SuperS easily.

Regarding Crystal/the manga:
+ Scenes where we get to see Ami, Rei, Makoto and Minako interact with each other more, especially pairings that we see very little of. It's kind of insane to me that across all adaptations, Ami and Minako barely interact with each other (not just the manga, but aside from correcting Minako's wrong puns, there's really not much in the '90s anime or live action series either). They're such opposite characters, but I feel that's what would make any kind of storylines interesting. You can also add the Outers to this equation to. For example, what is Haruka and Setsuna's friendship like? What does Setsuna think of Haruka?
+ Literally the majority of the villains need additional scenes to help flesh out their motivations. Even if you accept groups like the Witches 5 and Amazon Trio to be just the manga's equivalent of the Monsters of the Day, the manga's villains across the board just need a bit more time to develop. You don't even need to do much, considering Sailor Moon Eternal gave A LOT more characterization to Hawk's Eye in a matter of seconds.

I just wish Sailor Saturn had gotten a full transformation sequence in the old anime.

Stock footage for her attacks would have been awesome, too.
Ditto it is a shame that Saturn is the only major Sailor Senshi to not get a transformation or attack animation.

In my opinion that would be Galaxia upgrading the Senshi to Eternal forms in the end and crowning Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion but that would mean we would need to have at least a movie if not a 6th arc.

More focus on characters that matter throughout all five seasons.
I don't mind the occasional random victim, but I'd have loved to see the villains and side characters fleshed out more...even if we used the randos to flesh them out. This did happen some, but I felt like it never changed anything.
I'd have added more interactions between the senshi and villains, for sure. The scenes we did get were usually pretty good, (Mars protecting Koan after everything she'd done...the ONLY good arc a senshi and sister had, sadly).
I love the 90s anime but the filler was wasted more often than not. ESPECIALLY in Stars. If Stars hadn't been the last arc I'd be more forgiving.

There's mention of :setsuna: about :minako: being the leader but everything was forgotten when the Starlights came.

It's nice that PGSM made it significant to the point ice queen PGSM :rei: had an argument with PGSM :minako:.

Seconding the Naru thing, of course XD I'm all about more Naru stories though. I want to make a whole storyline just following Naru through her past life and secretly investigating Usagi offscreen and what she does in Crystal Tokyo though so I'm biased XD

Additional thoughts:
  • The stuff that happened in the PC Engine Game (set between the Makaiju Arc and the Black Moon arc, but, in the actual show. Also the Kunzite/Zoisite bits from the audio dramas.

Spoilers for the PC Engine game:
    Spoiler: show
"Past Wiseman" brings the Shitennou and Beryl back to life, but this time they realize they used to be a team with Prince Endymion, and do something sort of akin to the ghost rock situation. Also Naru meets Nephrite again briefly, and he tries, again, to let her down gently because he thinks he's going to die, even though her love is what even made him snap out of the brainwashing again to begin with, and aaaaaaaaaa the PC engine game has some cool stuff.

There's also debatably hints of Sen/Shi romance in there but it's unresolved and frankly a lot more tasteful and indirect than Crystal's approach, almost feel more like them passing down the torch of protecting Earth to the senshi and trying to atone, so, it makes sense.

]The Audio Drama just has some cutesy schemes of Zoisite and Kunzite working together being ridiculous goofballs...
    Spoiler: show
And there's a part where they're kissing. And a part hwere Kunzite makes Zosiite eat a whole bunch of pork sausage buns very forcefully, oh my XD

  • Seeing the Ayakashi sisters in Crystal Tokyo at the end of R, and them seeing peaceful human versions of the BMC in the city in the distance.

  • Eudial's van driving away after falling off the cliff, with it's previously established submarine capabilities there's a cool fic about this (and the other witches) called "Witches 0", on Archive Of Our Own XD

  • The asteroid senshi stuff, and the Trio returning during the Stars Nehelennia arc to help with her second chance somehow.

  • An explanation of what happened to ex-professor Tomoe during Sailor Stars. Maybe have him standing with Hotaru in the ending?

  • The Sailor Animamates being revived at the end of Stars and flying off with Galaxia to put the other star seeds back (also Crow and Seiren being reunited especially- I actually made art of that ::love::)
