I've heard Kothorix actually defended really contraband/illegal and disgusting stuff, which I don't wanna mention here, so I wouldn't trust him, but I would say, the furry fandom (while I'm actually not a part of it despite my profile picture), whilst it does have dangerous spots there are good parts to it...
I don't trust anyone who complains about toxic fans but has a Patreon, because people who do that are engaging in the same "professional victim" and "anti-professional victim" bullying they complain about to make themselves look better and get more dollars. By accepting money, he's a
professional victim.
Just because I don't trust him doesn't mean he's entirely wrong, though.
The furry community is crazy, and not just for the very true reasons outlined in that video. Despite the whole "SJW" stereotype there is a rampant racist -- not, not "reverse" racism, but good old fashioned "if you're not white, you ain't right" -- streak all through that community. Don't let SonicFox fool you; that community is not accepting of many racial minorities except some Asians, as they stomp all over different Native concerns (since they're appropriating the whole concept of a "spirit animal") and are often anti-black. It is no co-incidence that the closer people get to that community, the more openly they support putting down the "13%" and putting animals over people with darker skin tones.
I don't blame them for leaving as they are either an SJW or anti-SJW blob who all act like 13 year olds who never grow up.
It's like an army of Nangbaby's out to get you as he described it. That's pretty much how he described the fandom.
Yes, an "army" of an individual without any backing....and who is in opposition to the hivemind of Sailor Moon fandom...
...I don't think that's how armies work. The proper analogues for the bullying, punishing fur(r)ies are the people who agree with the consensus and who do get support.
In that respect, the comparison of the furries described in the video and a wide swath of the Sailor Moon community is apt. The Sailor Moon fandom is toxic because it does not allow alternate points of view to gain standing.
