Is the Sailor Moon fandom really as bad as people think?

As my 14 years on Sailor Moon: I had one guy who hated my rabbit bashing in my sprite comic, there was SaveOurSailors seeking out censorship on Sailor Stars episodes along with Prince Uranus idea, there was a crazy cosplayer who assumed everyone else who was cosplaying Usagi was ripping them off, and finally the fallout with MissDream with the rerelease of the Sailor Moon manga because they wanted their translations to be 100% accurate.

Sailor Moon fans are a mixed bag. We got our extremes but we can all enjoy a crybaby who’s willing to sacrifice herself to save her friends. I guess that’s why folks love the series.
Well I did find your Chibiusa bashing to be rather stupid. However then again I wonder why you even spend time on the series or think that you can critique other's OCs when you said yourself that you don't like the series. I personally wouldn't consider the criticism of someone who dosen't like the series legitimate for the shows fanworks.

DIdn't know this fandom was dangerous.

They were ok, except some folks on Kiwi Farms found out about their zoophilia chatroom where there was a furry ring doing terrible things to dead animals.

If you want to see terrible people and their fandoms, check out their board.

The closet we got was MissDream burning her copy of Sailor Moon manga in the microwave to get clear scans of them. Or some folks have fun times destroying a Chibi Moon figure in creative ways. Or the Prince Uranus drama which I could see why Naoko is reclusive with NA fans these days. Hence it's getting hard for fans to talk to her and businesses to bring out Sailor Moon here.

I've heard Kothorix actually defended really contraband/illegal and disgusting stuff, which I don't wanna mention here, so I wouldn't trust him, but I would say, the furry fandom (while I'm actually not a part of it despite my profile picture), whilst it does have dangerous spots there are good parts to it...

Wouldn't surprise me if the authors of :chibiusa:'s 7th Birthday and :artemis:'s Lover actually participated or became members there.

A very few 4chan trolls registered and participated here for a time when 4chan was significant.
Oh goodness, were those fanfictions horrid and obscene? Oh never mind, the first one definitely is, Robert Tsunai, the disgusting freak of/against nature who wrote that needs to get his house raided via police search/seizure.:evil::evil:

He admitted in the video somewhere close to the end.

I don't blame them for leaving as they are either an SJW or anti-SJW blob who all act like 13 year olds who never grow up.

It's like an army of Nangbaby's out to get you as he described it. That's pretty much how he described the fandom..

I never really replied much to Nangbaby.

I searched up the title of said fanfiction (did NOT read it), read it on tropes, and Google said his name. Yes, he needs an Encyclopedia Dramatica page (the Sailor Moon page on that website, though I'm sure it's for satire, unfortunately has a pretty disgusting pic with Moon and Mars I don't wanna mention and I'm surprised is up :dead:)

I don't trust anyone who complains about toxic fans but has a Patreon, because people who do that are engaging in the same "professional victim" and "anti-professional victim" bullying they complain about to make themselves look better and get more dollars. By accepting money, he's a professional victim.

Just because I don't trust him doesn't mean he's entirely wrong, though.

The furry community is crazy, and not just for the very true reasons outlined in that video. Despite the whole "SJW" stereotype there is a rampant racist -- not, not "reverse" racism, but good old fashioned "if you're not white, you ain't right" -- streak all through that community. Don't let SonicFox fool you; that community is not accepting of many racial minorities except some Asians, as they stomp all over different Native concerns (since they're appropriating the whole concept of a "spirit animal") and are often anti-black. It is no co-incidence that the closer people get to that community, the more openly they support putting down the "13%" and putting animals over people with darker skin tones.

Yes, an "army" of an individual without any backing....and who is in opposition to the hivemind of Sailor Moon fandom...

...I don't think that's how armies work. The proper analogues for the bullying, punishing fur(r)ies are the people who agree with the consensus and who do get support.

In that respect, the comparison of the furries described in the video and a wide swath of the Sailor Moon community is apt. The Sailor Moon fandom is toxic because it does not allow alternate points of view to gain standing.

I checked that website. Yeah its pretty disgusting only a 4chan veteran would appreciate. How the site is not tagged as pornography is a mystery.

Talking about the furry community (which definitely is [BLEEP]ed up) or this fandom?
Furry. That person was actually from here. Then was slowly absorbed by this furry culture.

I do like the fandom in some ways, as I love making new friends and being able to talk about it with people. I love what I love and I enjoy sharing my ideas and expressing myself with the fandoms.

There are things that really frustrat me about it as well. I'm noticing especially nowadays that people are gatekeeping and using political views against me and I'm sure other people as well especially on twitter. I have been blocked just because someone looked up my tweet history and saw my opinions about things. I'm not going to actually share to avoid the situation I'm ranting about. However, people have been so headstrong about their opinions to the point where I was been forced out of the fandom just because I liked other things as well. I was not allowed to be a sailor moon fan and to be accepted in the group if I like so and so for example.

There just seems to be a lot of hypocrisy online now. This is happening in a lot of the fandoms I enjoy sadly.

I try to stay away from role players or people in general on twitter because they can be toxic and exclusive. Twitter can be a dangerous place if your not careful. If you don't have enough self confidence like I do, it's best not to surround yourself in an environment like that and I have learned that it's what I had to do to be happy. I like being on here because I feel safe and happy to meet new friends and chat about Sailor Moon with you all.
