Yeah, you've already repeated that so many times, & we all know about your grievance about it - try talking about something new.
I just did not like that Stars season was supposed to be darker than the final product and it was changed due to Bandai and the director changing it.

But I am happy that Crystal has Reinako in it.

Was Stars having always meant to be a soft reboot the reason why there’s a total absence of all the established civilian characters? No wonder it felt off.
And a part of Act 38 was adapted in Sailor Stars which did give it a more of a soft reboot feel.

Reading the Artbook for the 4th season Naoko was excited about the 5th season, she had high hopes for Sailor Stars, she even created a couple of illustrations for Sailor Stars(which includes how the Eternal Outfits would appear in Sailor Stars Anime) which was in the Preproduction at that time...I guess Tamegai and Takeuchi seem to have a better relationship than with Igarashi.

The unused Senshi designs for Sailor Stars ended up in the Sailor Moon Eternal...instead of the actual manga designs.

I would think Toei regretted...but shouldn't. It was bad decision to direct every episodes word for word as the Manga. When the success of the original animation was having the liberties to expand the story/change allowing the concept to evolve something better. Crystal should have been the similar, but Naoko should have been more present to share more insights of what she was aiming for each panels of going with manga story plot approach. I think that where it has bothered me about from day one.

PGSM had ReiMina too!

Yes, that's true. The first anime was a looser adaptation of the source material, therefore it made to deviate.

No what was really bad about early Crystal was that it took this half-assed middle ground where it tried to stick strictly to the manga’s pacing while adding new stuff along the way and not committing to either. All while falsely advertising this was finally going to be a “faithful” adaptation of the manga. Point blank, it tried to have it’s cake and eat it too.

Crystal would’ve honestly served better if it did actually try to stick the manga like it promised to if they new they weren’t able to get the necessary additional episodes needed to expand on it.

Look at how well-received the Eternal movies were among general audiences despite being a panel for panel adaptation in comparison to Crystal’s season 1 and 2.

PGSM went for the extreme ends of both sides at the same time - in some aspects it's almost 100% faithful to the manga, while in other ones it deviates wildly from the manga (even much more so than the anime).

I don‘t get the people who think Crystal should have been closer to the source material. I mean, except for the shitenno mistake and the necklace joke it was already 1:1. Crystal‘s whole dilemma is that sticks too closely to the manga, not the opposite.

It did a lot other stuff, cutting character moments, jokes. And the whole act 6 was a hot mess

Sad fact:
Eternal movie was made under Toei collab with Studio Deen.
Studio Deen? Another horrible Anime Studio after the end of KonoSuba. You can realize how terrible are they especially in Seven Deadly Sins season 3, horrible Animation, ruined Meliodas (Most of people in this forum may haven't watched the two series I mentioned so you can explore it for instances).
About the question, the answer is actually no due to they collabed with Studio Deen for eternal, Toei literally want to kill SM so they actually collabed with Studio Deen.
For more facts about Studio Deen, just check internet. And you can correct if I'm wrong.

Perhaps it is due to Naoko's hate-love relationship with TOEI.

Seven Deadly Sins S3 In a Nutshell - YouTube
For example about how bad is Studio Deen, and also you can check MAL about Studio Deen recent Animes score.
The good fight scenes you see is from first two seasons, which Animated by A1 (aka the Studio Animated Fairy Tail and Sword Art Online, and yes the animation in Sword Art Online is insane), the scene with bad animation you are seeing is Meliodas vs Escanor
AFAIK maybe Studio Deen usually has low budget, poorly directed and inconsistent.
Yes Studio Deen animation is even worse than DBS and SMC.

Who animated the best parts of Eternal movie. Some scenes look spectacular.

I think it's more of an issue of rights and how to market the series. SM has a lot of copyright owners so everyone has something to bring to the table on what to do with the show. The anime itself has its fans but SM bread and butter (like quite a few anime) is merchandise.

Most likely Crystal probably has some executive meddling. They really don't care about the quality of the show just how much they can profit from it. I think it's like that with most businesses though. The higher up the ladder you go the less you care about the details below. I'm sure the animation staff who worked on the project cared about it but I don't think the overheads cared about it in a sense of enjoyment. Crystal had quite a few blunders but there were some gems sprinkled throughout the series that I thought were good.

I personally think it's quite odd Sailor Moon hasn't brought anything actually new to the table in so long.
