Seven Deadly Sins S3 In a Nutshell - YouTube
For example about how bad is Studio Deen, and also you can check MAL about Studio Deen recent Animes score.
The good fight scenes you see is from first two seasons, which Animated by A1 (aka the Studio Animated Fairy Tail and Sword Art Online, and yes the animation in Sword Art Online is insane), the scene with bad animation you are seeing is Meliodas vs Escanor
AFAIK maybe Studio Deen usually has low budget, poorly directed and inconsistent.
Yes Studio Deen animation is even worse than DBS and SMC.
i have seen some of the shots you mention, but i don't know about the groups they assigned the work
i love, hakuouki and was done by them and a ovas was released this past year
i watched one and it looked good

i think it'd be more interesting to know about the behind-the-scenes than the project itself.

I don't think Toei regrets the existence of Crystal, the producers (Toei & Kodansha, please don't forget Kodansha is also at fault) didn't invest much money, selling a lot of expensive merchandise of the 90's anime simultaneously. But also I think they do partially. I mean, they're selling a lot of products with the Eternal & Sailor Moon, R and S brands printed on them. For some (and obvious) reasons Crystal, SuperS and Sailor Stars have been swept under the rug; Crystal was a flop, SuperS merchandise is available through redesigns and patched as Eternal, the fate Sailor Stars will follow in the future. That's why I'm completely sure the Stars arc will have the classic designs; merchandise is the first rule.

I'd like to know more about the production because the whole project is the crystallisation (no pun intended) that something happened between Toei and Kodansha in 2012-2013.

Well that's Studio Deen before, and Fate Stay Night is quite good. After Konosuba you see how terrible the studio is. Especially most of Studio deen Anime after Konosuba like SDS are below 7 in MAL.
i know but i mean this ovas were release in November 2021 and are after konosuba and they looked good owo

That means we can now finally see the discarded designs for Sailor Stars in merchandise as well.

And remember, they worked with Studio Deen aka the worst Anime Studio for Eternal which means they don't regret it and they want SM for true milking purpose.

Copied from Quora about Toei flaws.
"They’re too dependent on their top rated shows

Dragon Ball Z
One Piece
Digimon
Sailor Moon
Yugioh *Note this thing doesn't belongs to toei anymore
Without argument, these are Toei’s biggest anime shows. They’re so successful almost no studio can compete with it.

Fist Of The North Star, World Trigger, and some others like Lovely Complex are worth mentioning…. But that’s it.

Out of Toei’s almost 800+ catalogue of anime shows, the majority of them are weak.

These 5 killer anime shows is why Toei Animation is still relevant.

While it’s true you could say the same for many studio’s (it’s a normal thing), in Toei Animation’s case they have an awful ratio.

If we use Kyoto Animation for comparison, they have 124 anime shows.

At least 20 of them are known, relevant, or can be considered classics on some level.

That’s not a bad ratio.

Out of almost 800+ Toei anime, can you name at least 20 or 40 besides the obvious?

Doubt it.

I’m not saying Toei is back alley content or anything like that. But it feels like they’ve struggled because their top anime tend to overshadow everything else.

It’s as these shows are too successful to allow room for any other “new” anime to reach the same level. And that reflects in their ratio.

From a financial point of view they could care less about what I think. They’re swimming in assets (money that will pay them forever, basically).

But from a creative, quality point of view, they can’t be compared to other anime studios who have less of a crutch to hold on to."

Especially SM is very easily milked by Toei compared to another Anime by what they do with Precure mostly due to the demographics Toei want. SM is a great series but I don't like Toei, the series could be better nowdays if another studio like Sunrise or Madhouse,... aired Crystal instead (90s Anime dosen't need a reboot)

Anyway, One Piece Wano arc looks very great!

Toei has more popular active shows that are still relevant nowadays worldwide: Saint Seiya, Naruto, Pretty Cure, Doremi...

Oops, true xD

Since its a license so attached to Bandai related to merchandise I always thought it was produced by Toei :O
Well, it was an honest mistake. Naruto was produced by Pierrot.

Too bad that Naoko's art style is hard to redraw for many animators. Sako said she had to do it for crystal but falls, she said also planned to mix it with the 90s but canceled. It will leave a lot of negative effects for making the series.
I don't think her designs are hard to draw, it's more that it's a style that doesn't convey well in animated from.
I think it's a bit like fashion designs, they are very pretty on paper, with few lines who emphatizes movements and forms, stylized anatomy, vaporous gowns, etc. But once it's on a TV screen and characters are actually moving, all flaws appear and it seems weird.
It's a bit like older Clamp works, big shoulders and looooong legs are fine in manga, but it's not pretty animated (like in some frames from the xxxHolic anime).

Considered how well Eternal was received by fans, in spite of a thousand flaws, because of its 90s inspired design, maybe a design mix from the get-go would prevent Crystal from taking like 10 years to finish 5 story arcs written 25+ years ago.

Yes you are right.

According of Sako's 2014s interview, Sakai was really wanted to make concept art very closer with Naoko's current art style (Kanzenban's cover art), so Sako canceled her initial concept that more anime friendly style and rewrite it over again, then a final concept created. Sako also said to she thinks Sakai expecting a different style from Tadano or Ito.

According to this post, the most difficult part of making Crystal was deciding who to character designer; It took a year from the announcement of production until Sako was chosen, and Crystal aired a year later.
To make one episode of anime, takes three months, at least one month. It's conceivable that the animetors schedule was quite overcrowded.

In 2021s Osano's interview, he said to Naoko's art style and Tadano's art style are looked like twins, and Naoko thinks Tadano's art style is like her other-self's thing.
