Okay, I will admit I didn't read all of these posts, so it may have been touched upon already. Anyway, I LOVE what all your terms will be in the scanlation Elly, I'm very pleased you're not going to say things like "Senshi" and "Ginzuishou" etc. But do you mind if I make one tiny suggestion? Feel free to ignore if you disagree.

Rather than translating Mamoru's nickname for Usagi, Usako, to Usagi, would it be alright if you made him say Usa? Like you said there are no honorificis in English like there are in Japan, but we do shorten names down for nicknames, so it could make sense.

If you rather not go with my suggestion, that's totally fine as it's not an issue whatsoever. I just thought it might be nice to see the nickname he gives her. Whether or not you go for this idea, I'm very very pleased with your translation decisions.

It's very refreshing to see a fan project translate professionally and actually aim it for an English audience. Someone brand new to Sailor Moon will be like "... Wha?" at Ginzuishou, but they'd nod in understanding at "Silver Crystal." So again, thanks very much for translating the terms rather than keeping random Japanese words everywhere. @_@

But Mamoru does call her "Usa" after he stops calling her "Usako". This idea sounds like you want him to call her the same thing in both cases, when Usagi herself does take notice in the change.

That's easy enough to get around. Use 'Usa' as the nickname and in the original Japanese text when he uses the less affectionate 'Usa' over 'Usako,' translate it as 'Usagi.' That gives the same effect in English that it did in the original Japanese then.

EDIT: But anyway, nevermind. I retract my suggestion. ^^; I don't want to start a dispute before the project even gets off the ground. Neither of us are being aggressive like some people can be, but often things like Sailormoon scanlations don't happen because of things like this. ^^;
Everyone's going to have their own opinion on how it should be done, so I'm just going to let how Elly and the others working on the project call the shots. Besides, I'm extremely happy with how they're going to be handling it anyway, so. x3 <3

@ Neo Moonlight: Hey, many thanks. <3 I think I'm going to do away with truncation altogether, just to make everything a bit more streamlined and simple to understand. But I can certainly understand your reasoning for it being done =3 No worries, this project isn't going to be going anywhere (unless of course all of my shoopers quit from being over-worked, bwahaha!)

*edit* Dream Girls are all mine and are not associated with Miss Dream. If you wanna be a cool chika and hang out with Yen-sama (or not), then become a dream gal (or not)

Well, I've been on a podcast, and I'm on good terms with elly...sure, why not?

EDIT: I just noticed I have the most posts of the members. What is wrong with me?

Due to some organizational and technical issues, and me being unable to find a solution that would satisfy everybody whom it concerns, Dream Gals group is closed for now. I'll post a thread in the announcement subforum shortly explaining how anybody willing can create their very own group.

TL;DR: We are now going to be translating all of the manga and all of the anime. Cheers!
What do you mean by this? Just the songs or are you going to start doing fansubbed episode releases (like what SMC's doing)?

Fansubbed releases, like what SMC is doing, except we'll be doing our own translations and won't be using ADV's subtitles.
*sigh* Okay, now I'll be having to choose between the two to see which one I prefer (I've already got all of SMC's anime releases thus far ^_^' ).

Well, from what I understand, SMC uses R2 rips and then puts ADV's translation on them
Not without first editing some of the scripts done by ADV (Classic and R), Pioneer (movies and S), and VKLL (Sailor Stars).

I hope the video quality is indeed the same. There's are so bright and saturated.

Though, for S, SuperS, and the movies, will yours be dual audio like how theirs are, or just Japanese audio only? And will they be softsubs?
