Coming good, but still got WAYS to go I think. The real problem is those moments where you look at it and something obviously GLARINGLY wrong but you can't pick out what. X_x Namely the bottom Usagi. I think it's the chin and such, but also the bangs are being a pain. I also don't think I'm getting the eyes right in general.

Left the construction lines nice and thick so you guys can see where I'm going here. Funny enough, I actually find it easier to draw 3/4 views than to draw front views, I guess mainly because I don't have to worry about symmetry as much.

Oh FYI, the random guy is another OC I made up. Supposed to be related to Yuuichirou. Also ignore that random line across the top Usagi's face; I think that's just a loose hair that got stuck in the scanner. lol

SIDE-NOTE: A major thing I'm starting to notice is with regards to fanart is something of an Uncanny Valley effect. I look at things as I draw and think "This is looking NOTHING like this person," and then realize the reason it doesn't look like the character is because I hadn't finished drawing it yet. lmao Doesn't seem to happen as much with OCs obviously.

Bit more practice with Minako. For these I used reference pics, and I think they turned out pretty good, especially for 30-minute drawings a piece. Of course, IMO, references are akin to training wheels. For the sake of learning, I'll use them, but for me to start drawing ACTUAL fanart, I need to be able to get this down without them.

Messed this next one up a tad, but I think I see where I went wrong.

This Makoto came out decent considering I used minimal references as far as the face goes.

So, I think I'm getting closer to the level I need to be at.

You should use your talent to create a fan-based manga (a doujinshi). That's how CLAMP started.
Yeah maybe down the line.

But anway, I wanna get into planning my fan-comic, but I'm split between whether to make in an H-story (as I orginally intended) or non-H. Why not both is because either one calls for a very different development for my OC.

I am leaning towards an H-story as I intended from the start; that's what I'm good at, and kinda what I'm best known for. Also, I want to avoid any kind of long-term project, as I tend to get burned out and lose interest long before I even get any kind of deep.

BTW, I know there used to be an 18+ section on this forum long long ago. What ever happened to it?? I don't think I want to (or should) delve too far into this here. It's not explicit by any major stretch; largely starts off with ryona/reverse-ryona scenarios + femdom/shota elements.

Well that sucks. Oh well.

Anyway, got some lineart for an actual piece I'm working on.

I can't put my finger on it, but the eyes just feel very off. Could someone point out a fix or something?

For NSFW reasons, I won't be posting the final product here at any point so... yeah. :/

The Usagi face actually doesn't look that wrong to me... My own attempts at drawing are so bad (especially in comparison to yours) I lack the courage to post them around here. :'-(

P. S.: Does Rei make a nasty comment in regard to the size of... some part of the male anatomy?

P. P. S.: That's some cute Ami-chan there.♥♥♥♥

Lol, well I wasn't planning on that. >.>

And to be honest, I actually was in the same boat. I wanted to draw them for YEARS, but was too afraid of butchering the characters with my limited skill. So I just drew other things, studied tons of tutorials until I felt confident enough to take a shot with some OCs. My avatar was actually more or less my end trial run before I took on any official characters.

Also, digital work makes correcting and adjusting mistakes 100x easier. ;)

UPDATE: In tune with what they say about smart people working best at night, I decided to give it a try at around 1 am last night and found out that I might actually (still) be able to draw just a little. And while the result without a doubt in no way is flawless, it still turned out somewhat cute, but that may be my personal (inflated) opinion of myself or due to the used topic. So, if I somehow manage (or find the courage) to get the pic online, please don't loathe me too much and limit yourself to constructive criticism^^.

@K. T.: I recently dug out my older-than-dirt sketches and noticed that I frequently struck through half-finished faces with adding comments along the lines of "Blechh", "Not good", "Forget it", "Not your day today" etc. just like you now. ;)

UPDATE'S UPDATE: I must've been pretty tired to mix up am & pm timeslots. :ami:
