While agree the revised version looks better I feel like instead of fixing little things no one really notices she could spend the time making new pieces. Or that mythical art book, maybe.

I wonder if she has OCD? She's all about art details.

I don't know. I find myself becoming less interested in an artbook from Naoko as her art has started to feel incredibly predictable over the years (even putting her obsession with the Moon Stick aside).

I mean we're literally in the era of Stars and she hasn't even drawn Eternal Sailor Moon once (although I guess who could blame her).

She never incorporates the Eternal Fukus aside from Sailor Moon and Chibichibi in the musicals, she succumbed to fan and corporate pressure I guess.

Oh no.... She struggles with Photoshop.... imagine the crappy artwork she'd make by using an AI. :evillaugh:

She should go back to analogical painting for god's sake!

They're selling a lot of merch with her artwork (old & new) printed on it. It seems it makes more money than a simple artbook.
Besides, are there enough illustrations for a new artbook? The other day I watched a live stream on the Sailor Moon Museum instagram, and when Osano got to the illustrations room (that room nobody can film) you can see the artwork of the fifth arc and the new ones of this century. Those recent illustrations you can see on the video were the shinshouban & kanzenban covers, the Serenity's floating head one from 2016 and the recent one that became the ugly colour manga covers. Is it worth it?

Neither of which featured the Moon Stick.

Does it? I got the impression it's just going to be recycled illustrations again.
Nope.
According to No Country For All Men on Facebook, who went to the museum yesterday, all illustrations are new.
He even described a bit each illustration and said the senshis that appeared in each month so it seems Naoko’s been working a bit on art.

Sounds awesome. What a delightful surprise. Can't wait to see the new art!

Also weren’t the artbooks in the past just a compilation of art already published with Naoko’s notes?

I have a feeling fans think that an artbook means a book full of art made specifically for it…
Yes, other than the covers, the art books all just compiled old artwork. Even the art books we were promised 11 years ago were just supposed to be reprints of the old art books with a few pieces of new artwork thrown in.
