I wasn't sure if this should be in general Sailor Moon discussions or in the off-topic forum because this is about Terri Hawkes but about her non-Sailor Moon acting roles. I only just recently learned that Terri Hawkes was in General Hospital years ago which is kind of ironic for me personally as I recently turned my mother into a Sailor Moon fan and General Hospital is one of my mother's favorite soap operas, though she's only seen the Japanese version of Sailor Moon and she has no nostalgic attachments to the DiC dub. But it's funny to watch this clip of Terri Hawkes as a character that's nothing like Serena at all because if you listen to it without watching the footage, you can totally hear Terri Hawkes' Serena voice slipping in.

Have you followed any of the non-Sailor Moon career roles of the English dub cast of either the original English dub or the Viz cast and what are some of their roles you find most interesting?

I don't follow any of these actors careers but I heard about Terri being in General Hospital and I think its very cool that she was on a show like that. I mean soap operas get no respect but I think it's an accomplishment to have been on a show that has a legacy of over 50 years and 13,0000 episodes. I agree she really does sort of have the Serena voice when she is talking normally I mean obviously she puts it on a little bit but she more or less actually sounds like that and I think the fact that it comes naturally made Serena seem more real. Her GH episodes aired before I was born but characters that she interacted with such as Tristan Rodgers as Robert Scorpio still make the rounds on General Hospital to this day. I seriously dig her hair and her outfit in this she looks like a Barbie lol.

Sarah LeFleur, the original actress for Sailor Uranus, also did a lot of live action acting, but I haven't seen much of her work and I haven't been able to find many good clips of her live action acting, though she apparently appeared in Ugly Betty for 16 episodes and she seemed to play a lot of other single episode characters in shows like CSI and NCIS.

Back in the mid-90s to early 00s, Capcom had most of their games dubbed in Toronto and some of the old cast was involved.

Susan Roman (Lita) voiced Mayor Amelia in MegaMan Legends 1 and MegaMan Volnutt himself in Legends 2

Stephanie Morganstern (Mina) voiced Regina in Dino Crisis 1 & 2.

Toby Proctor (Darien #2) voiced Glyde in MegaMan Legends 2

Vince Corraza (Darien #3) voiced Carlos Oliveira in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

Nadine Rabinovitch (Ms. Haruna) voiced rookie cop Denise Marmalade and one of the Servbots in The Misadventures of Tron Bonne.

Tony Daniels (Jedite) was the voice of Gambit in the same Marvel games, reprising his role from X-Men: The Animated Series. He was also the announcer for X-Men Vs. Street Fighter & Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter.

Catherine Disher (Mimet/Princess Snow Kaguya) voiced Jill Valentine in Resident Evil 3 & Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and voiced Psylocke, Storm and Spiral in the Marvel games from X-Men: Children of the Atom to Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (same character sprites, same voice recordings). This being pretty ironic as she was only the voice of Jean Grey in X-Men: TAS.

Fast forward to the late 2000s, Capcom has moved all dub work locally in LA and most of the Viz cast has been involved in those games since.

In the original Devil May Cry, Trish was voiced by Sarah LaFleur and Mundus was voiced by Tony Daniels.

That's really interesting that both the DiC and Viz cast were so heavily involved in Capcom games. I also didn't know DiC/Cloverway voice artists were in X-men TAS which was always one of my favorite 90s cartoons. Mimete's voice artist sounds completely different as Jean Grey.

Terri Hawkes is always going to be Shreeky to me.

Though I do find it ironic or weird at one point John Stocker voiced Serena's dad, depending on what era of the show that did happen, Beastly was Shreeky's dad in the world of Sailor Moon.

Rino Romano (Darien #1) voiced Spider-man in Spiderman game for playstation. As well as in the mercifully short lived Spider-man Unlimited and Batman in the forgettable The Batman 5 season toy commercial

Vince Corazza (Darien #3) played the record producer in that obnoxious Cheetah Girls movie

On the Viz side you Artemis voiced by the actor who played the lamer Black Power Ranger and Green Zeo Ranger. Grandpa Hino is the voice of Squatt from Power Rangers. Sailor Pluto is Ash Ketchum and his mom and girl Ash from Pokemon Advance. Queen Serenity is the voice of Scorpina and Alpha 6 from In Space and Lost Galaxy.

That is incorrect.

John Stocker voiced Grandpa Hino in the Canadian dub

David Huband voiced Serena’s dad

Well I heard he was a stand in for the regular actor for some episodes when he was unavailable for some reason. Anyway he did voice direct a lot of the dub.

Adding more to the thread

Back in 2004, Toei started up their American branch in Los Angeles and planned to releasing some of their anime themselves. Their first attempt was with Air Master, Interlude & Slam Dunk DVDs released a year later and well, the DVDs were crap and two of those shows had their DVDs cancelled a year later.

The one interesting thing they did here was have those shows dubbed in Toronto and this included Sailor Moon VAs.

Air Master:

Linda Ballantyne (Serena #3) voiced Kaori Sakiyama
Julie Lemieux (Sammy/Peruru) voiced Renge Inui
Nadine Rabinovitch voiced Mina Nakanotani

Interlude:

Terri Hawkes (Serena #2) voiced Aya Watsuji
Katie Griffin (Raye #1) voiced Kaoruko Minegishi
Julie Lemieux voiced both Kim and an unnamed school girl who appeared in episode 1.
Deborah Drakeford (Fish Eye) voiced Aya's Mother & Yuki Takase.

Slam Dunk:

Robert Tinkler (Rubeus) voiced Hanamichi Sakuragi

Two of these dubs never got re-released but Slam Dunk did by Cinedigm (with only 14 of the 20 episodes that did get dubbed) and is available on dub-only DVD and on streaming.

I saw Terri Hawkes in Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II. She played the token a-hole.
She was also the snobby mean girl in Beavrly Hill Teens, so she played a lot of jerks before Sailor Moon.
Bianca DuPree! I remember that show, Beverly Hills Teens. Mary Long (Molly/Naru) played Larke Tanner on that show.

Wendy Lyon (Queen Serenity, various MODs) is in The Shape of Water, playing Sally, Michael Shannon's secretary. That film is nominated for 13 Oscars, including Best Picture. Of course, she was also the main character (Vicky) in Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II.

Also, Stephanie Beard was in The Disaster Artist, which is up for Best Adapted Screenplay.

In the Viz dub, Koan was voiced by Eden Riegel, who is best known for playing Bianca Montgomery for several years on All My Children, and even won a Daytime Emmy for her performance. She even shared the first on-screen lesbian kiss on a soap opera. I have a lot of memories of watching her in that show. Her brother is Sam Riegel, who does a lot more anime and video games than she does.
