Not sure if I should open up to others about the series...

I've been watching this show and have been part of the fans for a little over a year, and the only real life people who know I watch it are a certain group of friends which are my school's Equity council that I'm not a part of.

Maybe I should be more open about the fact that I watch it, specifically around other friends and possibly my parents who do know I watch some anime, but I don't want to be shrowded with bullying and stereotyping for someone my type because people can't see much in the series past girly magic and other stuff.

This show and fandom are great, but I'm concerned about what others will think of me... Should I still mostly keep it to myself?

I think if you don't make a big deal about it, I don't think most people will make a big deal about it either. Most of my friends and family I love Sailor Moon but I just act casual about it and just show my obsesseviveness around my closest friends. Like I'll casually mention going to see the Sailor Moon R movie in theaters on Facebook but I'll save obsessing over it for when I talk to my closest friends. Your closest friends are the ones that matter most and that's really all you need if they know and still accept you.

you know I'm very open about liking Sailor Moon if you were to ask any of my friends they wouldn't deny it and honestly they don't care my friends all have odd tastes hell my one friends favorite movie is Grease (but that's because he always had a crush on Olivia Newton John  ).

Another of my friends loves The Power Rangers And Has Watched Every Season (least of the ones released out here XD) I actually like Power Rangers myself I have up to Zeo Part 1 on DVD, that same friend also likes Sailor Moon too but not as much as me.

people can say what they want but in the end would it change how you feel about Sailor Moon? I doubt it will you just need to ignore the idiots and be yourself. to quote Jack Black on Shallow Hal "I Saw A Knockout I Don't Care What Anyone Else Saw!" same thing can be applied here but with Sailor Moon just change the words to "I Love Sailor Moon, I Don't Care What Anyone Else Says!"

^ That right there is the healthiest approach to dealing with this. It's okay to tell people you're a fan, if you find people with a similar interest you should bond and share with them, if not then under normal circumstances people won't mind one way or another. Nowadays most people understand that everyone has their own tastes and interests. When it comes to bullying I think that to best way to avoid it is to simply be casual about it.

Personally, I feel that you should be yourself; if you want to talk about something you like, then do it; if you care that much about what others think or say, you might end up living someone else's life instead of living your own.

Honestly, I'd keep it to yourself if you're concerned about other's reactions. It's just not relevant or vitally important to share. It doesn't say anything about your character or life. It's. Not the first thing I would tell someone who isn't a good friend. It's a harmless interest. On the other hand I think the most someone would say is "really? Weird."

All my close friends knows I like it, they don't care that I like it, other than that, nobody really. I wear my Mercury and Venus shirts a lot, in fact, I'm wearing my Venus one right now and I don't really care what people think. I don't think anyone where I live even knows what Sailor Moon is, so I don't really worry. I'd say open up to your closest friends first. My parents know I own figures and stuff but they've never asked so I can't really answer on the parent thing unfortunately. But yeah I agree with what Neon Genesis said, if you don't make a big deal about it then other people won't make a big deal of it either, or shouldn't anyway.
