I hope no one minds if I post something here not related to PGSM. I'm going to talk about the most recent plot development’s in Joss Whedon's current show Angel:
The genius girl/sweetheart of the team, has recently been turned evil by the bad guys who were plotting against her. She now dons the show with a new bad-ass costume, and a world destruction bent, blue-tinged makeover.

Coincidence? You be the judge.

This is not the first time that similarities have been made between Joss Whedon's shows and Sailor Moon. In his first show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the comparisons were many:

http://www.animerica-mag.com/features/b ... on_02.html
http://www.metabee.co.uk/ssuk/edit/buffy_usagi.php

Btw, those pages didn't update as far ahead, as both girl's last season adversary.
Usagi: Chaos - the embodiment of all things that cause evil. Learned that all of the enemies she has faced so far, were connected by this force. Her final adversary is dangerous, because she has directly invoked this power.

Buffy: The First Evil - the embodiment of all things that cause evil. Learned that all of the enemies she has faced so far, were connected by this force. Her final adversary is dangerous, because he has directly invoked this power.

(Then later on, he created a show called Firefly. So on a note that has nothing to do with Outlaw Star, I will describe the first episode of Firefly: A rougish hero, becomes captain of a interplanetary ship, and will begin a series of "Space Westerns": however, is puzzled about what to do, when he discovers a beautiful naked girl in a suitcase, who doesn't appear quite human.)

So I am convinced: Joss Whedon, genius that he is, is most likely a closeted anime fan. Before he seems to have been very influenced (or it's just a BIG coincidence) by Sailor Moon while writing Buffy. However, now Btv is cancelled, so there'll be no more similarities.
.... right? Except now in his only current show on TV (which he is now able to put his full attention on) there is this PGSM continuation on Angel! The similarities just keep on coming...

You know, I am willing to bet that every Saturday afternoon, Joss Whedon goes to his computer and thinks "Oh boy! I sure hope Saiyaman has this week's episode today! ^-^ I'll start up my bittorrent - GAH! Why is it a slow feed? Poor Ami-chan. ;_; - because I am expected to write what happens next on Angel by later on today."
...
....
..... hey Joss, are you on this message board? o_O

----------------------------------
Note:I am a BIG Joss Whedon fan. I love his stuff, that's truly brilliant, and mean him not an ounce of disrespect.
But coincidence? You be the judge.

Wow, I remember people talking about this a long time ago. Guess some things never die.

All sorts of people were up in arms about Firefly having shades of Cowboy Bebop, as well. I wouldn't know, as I've never seen it.
