I've watched all three dub clips a couple times now, and I'm really not... well. I'm not mad or anything, just disappointed. To me, these voices really sound like they're trying to imitate the DiC actors, to be honest. Mostly Beryl and Mamoru. I actually called him Darien while talking to my sister about it because he just sounded so... Darien. Really, Beryl and Darien sound nearly identical, but with more restrained acting.
Luna is obviously different by miles over Frappier. But... I feel she doesn't sound young enough, and is way too preachy (that is more based on her lines). She doesn't feel right to me for some reason.

From what I've heard, the reason the dub preformance sounds so bland is because it's being rushed. Apparently the voice cast started recording their first session literally the week before VIZ announced that they had Sailor Moon thus the cast hasn't really had much time to really excersize the voices. Now we get extremely dull preformances, something DiC at the least never had.
They sound similar, but they don't sound like they're trying to just imitate them to me. They feel very much like their own thing, with Mamoru sounding a lot more likable compared to how jerkish most Dariens sounded, and Queen Beryl doesn't sound quite as old or over-the-top. Which I think are improvements, personally.

I've watched the few dub clips released so far & urgh just no! The mixing is horrible & the acting is wooden, to be blunt.
I generally don't care about VA's BUT I was excited when I saw the cast list for this. But it's just not good (so far) to my ears. I realise they have a lot of work as they're doing the 200 episodes + specials of the original anime & Crystal. But it really might have been better to just focus on Crystal, they may have given better performances, as it just seems like they're reading lines from the released clips.

You know, if Viz does manage to keep the same VAs for the entire old and new anime (which I have faith they will), they will actually be more consistent than even the Japanese version was. Not only because Japan replaced everyone but Usagi for Crystal, but also because Usagi didn't have the same VA for the entire run of the old anime. For about 6 episodes or so at the end of Classic/early R Usagi had a replacement VA, who later went on to play Chibi-usa.
It'll be interesting to be able to hear the same VAs for not only the entirety of the old anime, but even the new one as well.
The mixing is likely not finalized yet, so it should be better when we get the full episode. Usagi manages to be really expressive at least, so hopefully Mamoru and Luna will be as well when they get more expressive scenes to do.

That's a pretty interesting point!! I always felt so bad for Kotono Mitsuishi that she missed out on voicing some of the best episodes of the series. Her replacement did a great job, though.
I think the new Usagi isn't bad- she's very good at making all of the little noises that Usagi makes. I do agree that Luna and Mamoru are wooden, though. Luna's voice just doesn't seem like Luna at all to me.

Glad it's not just me finding it interesting. 
The fact Kotono missed such pivotal episodes always stood out to me, so I couldn't help but realize her dub counterpart likely won't. I always felt so sorry for Kotono as well. She at least got to do a version of it for a CD drama, but it isn't quite the same as doing the actual episode. I'm happy she'll be around for all of the Dark Kingdom arc this time around at least, but it still won't be quite the same either. I really have to give credit to Miss Kae Akari however. Filling in for someone is already hard enough, but to come in for some of the most emotional episodes in the entire show? I can't imagine how scary that must've been for her, but she managed to completely nail it!

i appreciate the remastering, but i am on the fence about it i grew up watching them so maybe i am just wanting those nostalgia factors. it sounds a little too dry and a little too loud and isn't fluent with the background noises, like someone said already they are still mixing it probably... i hope
