Yeah, I've often described it as creepy shows - they just adopt the Disney mascot thing onto whatever anime characters, & think it'd also look cute like the Mickey Mouse mascot.
Part of the franchise that never seems to get talked about are the kigurumi shows. This is partly due to the fact none of these shows were ever officially recorded, partly because none of the fan recordings seem to be subbed, and partly because kigurumi are just kind of creepy. But still. They're part of Sailor Moon's history, so I thought it might be fun to discuss them.
Here's one show that seems to have been recorded in full:
The villain seems to be called Queen Space Bodyconian, which makes me wonder if this show was a crossover story with Megami Tensei?
Call me the odd one out, but kigurumi doesn't creep me out and I always found the concept of these shows interesting. Precure even did it and when they had mascots, they usually used plushies.
Not all the shows run perfectly though, that PGSM clip showed one example.
Since the dialogue was pre-recorded by the original voice actors and included music and sound effects, I'm surprised they didn't release them as audio drama as well. What a missed opportunity.

Slightly off-topic since this (probably?) wasn't a kigurumi show (but maybe we can expand the scope of this thread a bit) but does anyone know anything about the planetarium shows? Going through the Nakayoshi scans on MissDream, I've noticed a number of announcements for these, such as this one from the September 1996 issue:
This particular show was evidently called "Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon SuperS in Planetarium ~ Starry Skies of LOVE Power." The ad seems to be saying that due to popular demand, the show's being given a winter revival. I've done some Googling, but I just can't seem to find any more information on what these shows were about.
