We can only meaningfully expect it after we've actually seen Eternal or, at the very least, its trailers.
劇場版「美少女戦士セーラームーンEternal」公式サイト
Who needs trailers when it has its own official website with everything you could possibly need to know. For that matter apparently the video there apparently is the "trailer".
Sailor Moon Eternal is a movie which really lives up to its name. Thanks to Sailor Moon Eternal I now always eat my greens, exercise and have private health insurance just so I can live long enough to see it. Just kidding! I'll be watching this at least twice at the cinemas.
I'm looking forward to the next movie which will surely be called "Sailor Moon Cosmos" and will begin with a mini-movie called "Chibi No Seeds".

Well, it is not hard to guess what most peole will complain about. The artstyle sems to be well-received by the majority of the fans. While the animation is yet to be seeb, I doubtbit is going to be without flaws, so some might complain about it. Others might complain by the copy paate transmoration and attack sequences from SuperS (that would be me), while others might be complaining on the unimaginative soundtrack. But the most obvious would be complains on all the stuff that will inevitably gonna be cut from the manga. The whole point of Crystal for me was to see the Dream Arc actually adapted, so if they decided to stray too far from the source, I can see a lot of people start the Cosmic War.

There is nothing bad about being critical on something. What is bad is when people just bash, without giving reasons why, or fabricate some facts on the production and people involved with it.

I've been reading Sailor V and passed it to a German friend who was curious about what it was I was reading. Her comments were "She is very pretty but I have no idea what is happening because I cannot read Japanese and every page just appears to be her is a different pose, and why is she naked on this page?". So Maybe we do need for forgive a little and confess that the source material may not be the holy grail of excellence in regards to translating to anime. (How much hovering Senshi do you want? Yes)

I do like Crystal (particularly Season 3) but only as a derivative/supplemental work and not as a full representation of what Sailor Moon is in its own right. I saw the anime movie "Weathering with You" at the cinema and was blown away by the detail and beauty of the environments and it made me think just how rushed/sub-par Crystal was in comparison (not that it doesn't have some awesome moments but they are few and far between). Also Crystal is great for casual 90's fans who may not have read the manga and I think they will be in for a surprise when Stars is released (could it be that Eternal Sailor Moon is not the ultimate form of Sailor Moon?? OMG!), it would have really messed with their heads if Crystal Stars was released before the 90's dub of Stars.

But make no mistake, if Crystal was the only anime of Sailor Moon and the 90's anime version did not exist I would definitely have moved on long ago. It doesn't even hold a candle to the flame of passion I have for these heroes. So Crystal, that is why, in the name of the Moon, I will continue to punish you! But do keep up the good work on your improvements and I am really looking forward to seeing your movies.

Also, I don't actually care that they drew a few frames of Usako looking like a triangle with eyes added by a pin the tail on the donkey game and I never link or (usually) refer to it in my criticisms because it is just the poster-child for "Look! See! Crystal is Bad!". The real failure of crystal (which they have been improving upon very slowly) is the soulless nature with which the characters are presented and the general rigidity of animation which has led to it being called the "Sailor Moon Powerpoint Presentation". When I watch Crystal I feel like I am watching a bed-time story book retelling of what Sailor Moon did, I love a good story, but the real thing is much more engaging.
1. Nobody claims that the manga is excellent (its quite the opposite with fans, with Dream being the "best" to a lot).
2. Continue to punish ...what, exactly? Being critical is fine but if you're basically just going off biases is that really any better?
3. There's no "real" version of Sailor Moon between the manga and the 90s anime. These were developed simultaneously. Id say that they're complimentary, even with their differences. And no, popularity does NOT factor into which version is the "real" version.

I can totally agree with you, especially with #3.

Thanks for the response. Just want to clear up that these are my personal opinions and feelings and that we are as Sailor Moon fans completely spoilt for choice when it comes to mediums through which to enjoy Sailor Moon (manga, 90's anime, crystal, live action, musicals, fan works). No, I'm not on a vendetta of punishment against crystal, I actually enjoy it, but I personally don't enjoy it as much as any of the other mediums. I don't own any copies of Sailor Moon crystal but I do own copies of all of the 90's anime and copies of all of the manga. Even when I could have purchased the limited edition of Sailor Moon Crystal Part 1 for a bargain price I didn't do so. I'm not out to punish Crystal, but it is real money and sales they have lost as a result. But again, just my groove and I am super glad it isn't everyone's groove or we might not be getting the movies at all. When I watch crystal I feel more emotionally detached from the characters than when I watch the 90's anime, in this respect it is less "real" for me. But as Usagi might say, we should all put our differences aside because we are all "おなじ セーラー 戦士" fans!

I love how their skirts look in Crystal 1-2.
Whatever people say about crystal s1 and 2, the anesthetics were very beaitiful. The skirts, the hair, the shadows. Too bad Toei didn't grant the budget and care to maintain it. We might have kept it consistent and even watching Stars by now. While some people bashed the artstyle itself most people had problems with its execution, rather than the concept. The art department for s1 and 2 definetly tried, the skirts, the propts, the dreamy title cards and eye-catches. I still think it was a wonderful concept that gave it individuality but was wasted due to time and budget issues. The skirts were definitely downgraded since s1 and 2 b8g times. The new skirrts look ok, but we are yet to see different examples to judge properly. With a whole site for these films I hope we get a full character sheets soon. The new skirts look way better than the dorito skirts and the new eyes design is wonderful. I hoped for a slightly more mature look, less round faces and a bit more details, but it still looks a lot cleaner than s3.

I do not agree with this. I mean, sure Crystal has very cute backgrounds, but the old show has it as well. I think these comparisons are unfair. The old show was completely hand drawn and very long. It came out almost 30 years ago and everything was done by hand. The backgrounds are very beautiful watercolor paintings that suffer from the lack of hd remaster, but with the newer blu ray films you can see how much effort was put in them. Crystal was trying to achieve the same pastel/watercolor feeling with modern technology, so it took them a lot less effort. The character designes were also very beautiful for the times, and the better animation directors did wonders with them. I really find any comparison in this regard unfair. On one side everything done in the old times was a lot harder to achieve, on the other there are some elements like the old style eyes that can only be done with the old hand drawn and coloring. It gave everything a bit more depth with simpler design, which look very flat with digital coloring.

Yeah, I give 90's credit. It had some questionable episodes but it was hand-drawn.

What I like about Crystal were the how refined things looked. If they had did hand drawn transformations exactly how the CGI transformations were done in the S1/S2 it would have turned out beautiful. I like the little nods they put in there such as Venus having a different method of using her pen and how she has ribbons similar to Usagi. All the transformations looked so smooth, similar to the 90s.

A really good example of Crystal style I liked was the episode Sailor Jupiter came. It was aesthetic all the way around.

I still look back at Mars' awesome Akuryo Taisen and Jupiter being surrounded in rose petals.

Honestly, for as much bad as Crystal did, there were some things they did right. I'm not a huge fan of the execution of the animation but I'm sure there have been much worse in anime history.

If they can but a good balance on these new designs for the movies with the aesthetics of S1/S2... All we need to worry about (not even worry) wonder is how they will pace it and stuff

True, while some other episodes had stunning frames, like episode 17, 21 and 25, episode 5 was consistently beautiful with very few art variation. The attacks were also quite cool. While Iwata delivered some exquisite scenes, they were here in there between good and bad frames.

Episode 5 was the best episode allround. For Crystal standards, the animation was consistent, the screenplay well written, a lot of stuff happens but never feels rushed, we have flashbacks (that look very pretty), it gets emotional and we sympathize with Makoto, nice attacks, powerful last scene and introduction of the moon stick. This episode feels like the 90s anime, but without copying it. This episode gave me hope.

It is collaboration, but still cute. It doesn't look like Yukie Sakou though. More like Arina Tanemura's take on the characters.
