ACT 5: STARS 5 (Part 1)

What is happening here? Galaxia's floating in magic space water? She's just blatantly Single White Female-ing Aluminum Siren, huh?

Bunny *was* just wearing her school uniform, but now she's wearing this nondescript dress because a costume change was apparently necessary.

Bunny is apparently back to wearing her uniform here, because who needs continuity? (Also: "holy cup")

Are those trees? Power poles? Crucifixes?

I am once again asking Toei et al to make this guy the main antagonist in a sequel movie / sixth season. Why didn't the musicals use him instead of *shudders* MC Fly and Kyaosu?

Galaxia causing drama in trashy dive bars across space is hilarious to me.

When exactly did Galaxia get the Saffer Crystal? Was it not her original Sailor Crystal? I have questions.

The planet of the fish-heads! Throwback to my very first thread on here!

Wiseman and...Rubeus? Hawk's Eye?

I really, really wish Wiseman's presence in this chapter was explained. Like, unless this is another Wiseman (which would feel like a copout), this is the only instance of an antagonist appearing in more than one arc. Also, Wiseman = (Death) Phantom = a human with vaguely defined supernatural powers who lived at some indeterminate point before the 30th Century. If Wiseman/Phantom were alive in present-day Tokyo, shouldn't Usagi and company have sought him out? Or even the BMC when they invaded 20th Century Tokyo? Also, how did he get from Earth to whatever planet this is? Or is this the future? Is Galaxia from the future? Or is she a time traveler? Or? I honestly think making her trash planet be Nemesis could be interesting.

Galaxia, girl, sleeping with your earrings on is just asking for trouble.

Can't wait for Crysternal Stars to botch this image!

"Lord Galaxia" "Animalmeiz" "Sailor Tein Nyanko"

Tokyopop not only botched "Galaxy Cauldron" into "Galaxy Cordon" (which will never not make me think, "Galaxy Cordon Bleu"), they also botched the order of the text.

I guess this is supposed to be Ikuko speechless at seeing Usagi up so early, but this panel is just so weird-looking to me.

"Damage to the crescent moon" sounds like a bad heavy metal song.

Not here for Kenji calling his wife "Mom" like he's Mike Pence.

Naoko really just said, "F*ck it, Chibi Chibi can use complete sentences now because I need to move this plot along," huh?

Does that apply to the past as well? Bunny's that friend who makes everyone meet up at her place but will never go to yours.

How does Kakyu know how long it takes to get from Earth to Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto? Did she have a stopwatch on her while she was plummeting to Earth?

Naoko just forgot all about Sailor Teleport, huh?

ACT 6: STARS 6

Why are those doors a pair of giant dominoes?

I know I'm not the only one who thought that tree was in the boat.

I feel like this scene must have been influenced by the Nehellenia arc.

I don't understand. Luna, Artemis, and Diana are on Earth with Bunny's family. There's no way Lethe just conveniently teleported them to the desert river, and besides that, the cats we see in this scene haven't got damaged crescent moon marks, which suggests they're just illusions and not the real cats. But then why do future Luna's and Artemis's bodies seem to be fading out of existence? Why does Rini feel this sudden, intense dread right at that moment? Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.

If I went a day without seeing my pet, I'd be freaking out, but Rini's pet can be MIA for a week before she apparently notices. Calling the SPCA.

The way Rini disassociates her mother from Sailor Moon will never not be weird.

Why? Just...why?

Deep.

Horrible typo aside, this is the first time I've noticed that Lethe is holding an oar here. Is that her magical item or something?

Not sure why they're called "Star Sailors" here, but w/e. Let me just stan my queens! Can't wait to see this chapter in full color! (Which had better be soon, Naoko/Kodansha...)

I really wish the manga delved into this more. Why was their planet such a hostile wasteland of violence? Why didn't they do something as its Sailor Scouts to restore peace? Did Galaxia perhaps feel some empathy for Mnemosyne and Lethe, since she too came from a "trash planet"?

I mean, Lethe has a point. Whether she sides with Moon or Galaxia, either way there'll still be violence. She just wants to be happy with her sister, and she'll ally herself with whomever she thinks can best help her realize that goal. Can't blame her.

That reaction shot of the unconscious Starlights will never not be funny.

Phi and Chi lost me at killing Mnemosyne and Lethe, but they won me back by offing the Useless Trio.

RINI'S PICTURE DIARY

(Finally: a side story that actually more or less fits into the timeline of the manga!)

Mermaid!Bunny is a delight. Would love to see mermaid versions of all the characters.

I don't remember if the name of Rini's school was ever given before, but surely it should be Crossroads Elementary. (I think "flower club" might be a reference to her gardening duties in the first Picture Diary story; it doesn't really make sense otherwise since Rini's never shown a particular interest in flowers before.)

Who is that bespectacled Hotaru-lookalike driving Ruruna and Naruru? (Also: how lazy are those names? Naoko really couldn't be bothered that day, huh?)

Placing Darien on all the lists.

Random, but I love that skull background.

Why am I not surprised that Tokyopop screwed up their names?

It's a shame Lita isn't in this story; she'd have loved that shop. (Actually, and I know this would have changed a lot of things, but I really wish that instead of Naruru and Ruruna, this story had featured Setsuna and Reika. The Infinity arc showed that they were friends, Reika's first appearance in the manga established her as a fashionista, and Setsuna is *supposed* to be a talented seamstress who dreams of being a fashion designer. A story where Reika and Setsuna are all buddy-buddy and overly excited about trendy activities and the pawn shop, and where Hotaru and Chibiusa are both jealous of Setsuna's friendship with someone else, would have been great. Plus, had Lita appeared too, she could have joined in on the jealous-of-Reika bandwagon in a little nod to the anime, and having Darien get all horny for Setsuna and Reika would have at least not been massively creepy.)

Even though "Guccicci" was clearly written on the bags in an earlier panel, and even though that's obviously what the intended Latin spelling would be, TP still went with "Gutchitchi" because competence is dead.

"Finlintze." They actually mistook the city of Florence (or "Firenze," to go with what the city is called in Japanese) for the literal gibberish that is "Finlintze." *screams*

Does Naoko exist in-universe as the author of unauthorized Sailor Moon manga? Have the Scouts publicly battled some foes between the end of Dream and this story for people to know what their Eternal uniforms look alike? (And also about Diana's human form, as mentioned later.)

How long until they actually do come out with Sailor Moon credit cards?

TP couldn't be bothered to even try preserving the pun, so the sea lion is completely inexplicable here.

I love Boho-chic Mistress 9.

Naruru and Ruruna have to be the prototypes for PQ Angels, right? I mean...come on.

This is the first time I've really noticed the way Eternal Sailor Moon's uniform is shaded in in the B&W manga. It doesn't really match up with the color artwork IMO since it suggests some kind of color gradating or maybe some kind of holographic texturing or something. I wonder how the colorized manga will handle it...

I really don't know what Naoko was thinking with all these grown men getting horny for literal elementary students.

Fatty Mask vs Aloha Mask: Text your favorite Tuxedo Mask knock-off to MOON888 now!

I think this is the only time Rini has her own Eternal Tiare in the manga, right?

Molly (omg, she's not dead!) is "Naru" now. (And another pun goes unexplained.)

Actually, Naoko assumed that Sailor Stars will be as originally planned until episodes 172 and after came out, the original plan for the Sailor Stars Manga and anime are in the Materials Collection.

Naoko really just said, "F*ck it, Chibi Chibi can use complete sentences now because I need to move this plot along," huh?
That means Sailor Cosmos might have been supposed to appear early on in the Manga in Act 53 since 52-60 are the equivalent of 190-200 just like Cosmos was supposed to appear in episode 191.

That would fit the Galaxia being Sailor Chaos narrative in the Materials Collection, so the Anime was based on a draft of the Plot prior to the Manga being finalized, I would actually want to see this version of the Story come out.

I really, really wish Wiseman's presence in this chapter was explained. The Issue here is that Takeuchi had likely changed the plot from 52-60 and did not explain much, she need to explain those added plot threads in 52-60 in Crystal.

"Also, [the] Sailor Star Lights looked so much better in the musical than in the [anime]." Cue fans saying Naoko HATED the '90s anime.

"In just two hours, I enjoyed what the [anime] and the manga couldn't provide." Cue fans saying Naoko HATED the '90s anime and her own manga.

I think it's cute how much she seems to have liked the original Stars musical, even though I'm personally not wild about it. Naoko's love of the musicals is endearing. Since she loves them so much, I wonder what the chances of a Sailor Moon musical film being made someday are...

Plus the fact that she scrapped her original planned plotline for Stars in the Manga and before that the anime scrapped that as well, which is why the Manga seemed so rushed.

in the Italian version she says "you are garbage, trash remain trash until death".

isn't wiseman but Chaos, in the end she telling Galaxia "I'm your mother". She resembles wiseman only in appearance. It represents the first meeting between Galaxia and Chaos.
in fact Galaxia defines after this dream the search for more power and a star all for her an insignificant dream of the past.
