How do I read the chart? Are the 480p/720p/1080p meaning the source or the final result?
Each table compares the performances for a type of model.
In the column on the left, these are the gpu and their optimizations/settings/which way it has be done etc...
In the right column, the resolution of the source with the processing speed in fps

I'm looking at the number between 1070ti and 3060ti for Compact 2x, 1070ti can go as fast as 14 fps and 3060ti at 48 fps. 48 fps is really fast, but 14 fps is also an acceptable speed.

Ah, I'm not sure if 5 minutes is enough to make an accurate judgement...

Hopefully this works, since it's not a direct link but rather one encoded with base64.
any way you can reupload this file again? I thought I had it in one of my backups but nope lol

Upscaling a video is very easy. You just need to install a few stuff. And copy/paste a command that will use a model on the frames of the video. Then you just have to wait the end of the process.
The problem is that my hardware is not good enough to upscale a video. My gpu is REALLY bad

The reason I posted my results here is to ask for help. If a lot of people are willing to help the whole series can be done quickly whereas it would take more than forever for one person. I'll share the model and then people will just have use it on the Dynit DVD Remux. There is no need for special skills, just a good gpu

I don't want to go too much into the technical aspect but this model was mostly a "proof of concept". I wanted to see if I could get good results with esrgan. The model I trained is slow, I don't think it's realistic to use it for a project aiming at upscaling 200 episodes. That's why I plan to use the results of this slow model to make a much faster model (the quality would be a bit lower but the speed difference is huge)

I'd be glad to help upscaling to get those beautiful results!

I've watched the trailer of your project.

I've got a question: How do you know those are the accurate colours? I know you had the Make Up special and the films as a reference, but those film prints might've been altered as well after scanning. It wouldn't be the first time a 35mm print has been chemically modified, among other techniques.

Besides, the Blu Ray colour palette of the films could not be the ones screened on cinemas back then, when those prints needed the warm light of the projector to transfer the intended ones. Then we have the episodes that aired directly on TV whose palette was already decided without the cinema projector in mind.

The upscale is fine though. :)

Well, it's actually a good question :0 I targeted the BD films and the rescanned SMR special 'cos those were my closest reference of what the original cels colours could be. And i'm also comparing those footages with the scans and promos of the series released back then, trying to match and create a good balance of all that. This is kinda experimental, and i tried my best to colour correct almost every scene since they may be so different between scenes, so it's hard to get a perfect balance of em overall. But i'd be nice if you help me where the colors can be improved and stuff so i can create diffferent versions of 'em for a more balanced color profile. :) I also took the time to sync all those audio languages for everyone. I was going to add portugal and french dub but i literally never got the chance or time bc my job and college. Still, hope you guys like it. <3

The Sailor Moon movies use a different brand of paint than the TV series. There are two brand of paint used for animation, STAC, which was mainly used by Toei, and Taiyo-Shikisai (Sun Color) which was used by the rest of the industry. Back in the days, the painting of Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon movies were outsourced to Korea, but the studio in Korea didn't have STAC, so they have to look through the Sun Color chart they had to try to replace them with similar color. So trying to color correct the Sailor Moon TV series with the movies color is not going to work.

this is what happens when you try too hard to make her hair appear yellow at all cost.
Yeah, you're probably right, although, Usagi's hair color was changed with color keys, so it has nothing to do the other colors appearance. The thing here is during the episodes, the colors may change drastically between scenes, so it's a bit hard to create a color profile that could work with the entire episode. Also, i'll be improving the episodes and replacing the download links with the new ones as soon as i re-render the newer version. :) As said, it's an experimental attempt, so it'd be nice you guys can help me determining where to improve the colors as the episodes are going on. :3

That's very true. Well, in the case i fail in every sense of getting as closest as possible to the films colours, i'll be opting for just white balancing the colors overall.

If you are trying to apply your color profile on the whole episode, it will never look right. Maybe some episode in the R season are more even, but overall each 15-30 seconds colors shift a lot. It is really hard work and you have my respect for the efforts.

Thank you so much lovely. Yeah, well, as said before, i created a color profile for each episode and tweak it between scenes, cos’ yeah, its more noticeable in season 1, that the color shifts almost every scene. Still, you’ll see it soon dear.

I will probably miss the streaming, it is so early in my time zone, 5am. Will you make it available for a few hours or it is going to be a live stream with no option to watch it later

Yeah, I missed it completely when it was first posted.

I’d love to see it, if it’s ever re-uploaded.
