Sailor Lead Crow’s official art.. um. It looks like an amateur fan art. Aluminium Siren and Heavy Metal Papillion aren’t much better. The others look varying shades of acceptable, though.

I’m certain they’ll look better in the movies as has been the case with most the official character/promotional art for these movies.
That and the way her wings are under her collar and her hair looks like it's going through her wings.....what???

I do think they will look better on screen in motion though. Tin Nyanko is always been my favorite of the bunch and it's nice to see all the others, including the new first time onscreen appearances.

That's how it is in the manga. Her hair + wings don't make sense, which is probably part of why the '90s anime got rid of her wings, but I don't think we're meant to think too deeply about it. Looks over logic, as always

Also just realized she hasn't got her choker, so I'm guessing Tadano took inspiration from the actual interior manga art and not the Materials Collection?

I really hope they don't use Moonlight Densetsu in the movies... gosh, if they have to put a 90's song use Makenai.

This video using Moonlight Densetsu is usual, they did the same with Eternal ( first teaser trailer used this song ) and then the track didn't play in any of the movies.
I think the reason people assume they’ll use Moonlight Densetsu is because this is a new version that’s being teased in the short. I actually assumed it was the Moon Lips version when I first heard it, but like the updated Three Lights Song, whoever produced this has an uncanny ability to capture the essence of the original 90s sound.

That was the 90s Dali version, this one is completely new which AFAIK, hasn't been used for anything else like the tribute covers were for the musicals.

If those end credits last as long as Eternal did, there will be two songs in each for them again.

The designs look good to me, but I agree that they'll probably look better in motion, the settei poses are always a bit lacking. The short was very nice and I like the new Moonlight Densetsu, it'd be fitting to use it for the ending. Maybe they'll play it while all of Usagi's dead companions give her support, like in the 90s season 1 finale. We know Takeuchi likes that finale so maybe they'll go all out for the homage.

Moon Flower better be good to beat Moonlight Densetsu, I can't wait to get full versions of both songs!

It was a little extreme from me to say Toei doesn't take into account Latin America, but it's true they don't consider Latin America as a really profitable market. It's mentioned in this interview (spanish) with someone who worked in Toei:
Yes, but remember that Kayama only worked for the CGI series until before Season 2 premiered. That season was a big hit in Latin America and it was after that that the producer thanked the Latin American audience, that Toei opened official social media accounts and websites aimed at Latin America, and that they chose to premiere the live action movie in Latin America first. The region has been getting a lot of focus as of late and all of that happened after Kayama left Toei.

I’m disappointed with the Animamates designs, except for Iron Mouse, but they’ll hopefully look better in motion. I do miss Crows darker skin tone, it’s as light as Pluto’s.

I do love the funny faces of Usagi. I wonder though if the humorous scenes will be funny or just funny looking. So far the reboot didn’t make me laugh.

Some frames give me cubist Jupiter vibes.

I totally agree, it is just nice to manage expectations - there are people who can't and start speculate too much and once it doesn't happen they end up hating the final product.
I absolutely agree. IT is ok to especulate about the reasons of this or that change, but in a healthy way :)

I totally support the plot of Saturn in the musical , it makes much more sense and it's at least what the characters deserve cause in the manga arc she literally does NOTHING which is awful since she is the most powerful senshi ( in terms of physical power ).
You know? I agree with you, but I'd like her to be manipulated by Galaxia too, because that way we would see her using the Galactica Glaive Surprise, the Galactica Cannon and the Galactica Planet Attack, lol. So I'd like her to have more action, like in the musicals, but still have that scene with the rest of the senshi. It's a very strong scene too, for Sailor Moon. I wonder what will they finally do, lol.

This would be actually really cool.
Right? But for now it's only a theory fueled by both trailers, but no proof at all. We'll see if we get more clues in future pictures or trailers.

Oh, and I love the Anima Mates designs! Glad to see the "forgotten" senshi too. I wonder if we'll get to see more about Sailor Mau, Sailor Chew, Sailor Coronis.. maybe just silhouettes, if anythin at all lol.

.
Sure, I didnt say nothing about the scene of all the senshi manipulated by Galaxia, I still want it to happen and I'm sure it will happen ( we can see Venus attack against Eternal Moon in the trailer ). I just want Saturn to have some action before that xD

I think the character designs for the Animamates are fine. Their main purpose is to be a reference for the animators, so a simple, utilitarian pose is fine. Especially in a movie where you have a ton of characters as it is.

Tadano's perfectly capable of more expressive, dynamic poses. It's just that Toei/Bandai haven't been bothering to hire her or any other artist to draw more material.

Those arts are not very good either... I mean Moon is still off model like most of the posters and promotional art made by Tadano. It's like Tadano draws all of them very well in the close up settei ( as we have seen ) but when she is hired to make promotional art, characters look off model and emotionless. It's just the face, the bodies and poses are ok. In fact Moon looks better in motion most of the time than in this art and that is a huge problem. You can't make a character look better in motion with hundreds/thousands of frames than in one single static art.

I'll have to disagree on that. Her style's certainly changed since her initial designs from four years ago and from working on stuff like Yu Gi Oh Sevens this whole time, but I don't see a single problem with the poses or expressions.

I'm glad Sassy Mars is back again....I think Venus and Jupiter did a pose switch..lol

Chibi Chibi looks like a Christmas ornament...too cute. Seeing Pluto and Saturn pose without their staffs is interesting.

Yesterday when I saw that art, I realized that these Animamates all have a metal in their name, not just Sailor Iron Mouse.

It was like 12-13 years since I last watched 90s Galaxia's arc, and the one I remember the most is Iron Mouse, and kinda Lead Crow, and Aluminum Siren, but completely forgot that Tin Nyanko also appears in 90s anime as well - for some reason over the years I started thinking that she is also manga only character (probably because on MAL her main picture is from manga).

In fact I don't even remember that I ever heard the word Animamates in 90s series.

As for why I realized how their names work so late, I think it's because I kinda actually never really registered their names to begin with, like, even for Iron Mouse, she was just that mouse girl with white hair.

Lead Crow, honestly, in rare cases that someone mentioned her, I always recognized Lead as lead - leader, and for Aluminum, dunno, I probably just never looked at "her aluminum" as metal...

I guess Iron Mouse was luckiest with me because, well, she's iron - rockstar among metals.

It's such weird thing, when you realize you are dumb for not noticing something so obvious. :(

Not sure what to say about Heavy Metal Papillon, even though I most likely did saw her picture on MAL, or somewhere else.

It's official, I'm an idiot.

That aside, I have a feeling that some of them will be voiced by Kana Hanazawa, Yukari Tamura, Yui Horie, or Rie Kugimiya.
