I’ll get the bad things out of the way first:
I’m not really sure why there needed to be -so- many goddamn transformations and stock footage attacks. It’s be one thing if all of the stock was done well but, well, it’s not. The fact that the entire battle between the evil Senshi and Moon was literally them just going down the line firing attacks at Moon/Chibs was really so anti climactic. I was hoping for something akin to S3 in which they actually fight, but no, they just stand in a row doing nothing like something out of an old turn-based JRPG

The stock footage really messes up the narrative immersion when it happens so frequently.
The animation was.. what we have come to expect from this reboot. My main gripe was that whole nothing was super-off model they might as well not have Settei/a character designer because the style looks different it almost every scene. Usagi and go from looking gorgeous to derpy to moe in the space of 5 minutes. When Miho and Iwata draw her she looks gorgeous but the rest of the time she’s all over the place.
Also, FLASHBACKS. We don’t need a recap/reused footage of something that literally happened 10 minutes ago! It makes sense for a weekly TV anime to do this as a refresher for the viewer but in an already short movie it just felt like a cheap way to fill up time. Especially when most of the flash backs of old enemies were just stills ripped directly from the previous movies/seasons. And this doesn’t just happen once but several times.
Some of the storytelling was really confusing. Like, why does Sailor Moon lose her wings and her Eternal Tier breaks only for it to magically re-appear in the stack footage 2 minutes later? There’s no scene of them regenerating (from what I can recall?) Maybe I just missed something but it all seemed a bit pointless.
Also, why is it that Kakkyuu and the Starlights get one hit K.I’d and yet somehow the Amazon Quartet have invincibility?
I also find it strange that the Starlights and Kakyuu despite being the main plot points of this arc and just completely forgotten about the moment they die. They deserved more than that.
Also poor Artemis, unlikes Luna he doesn’t even get to appear in the finale..
