‘Sailor Moon Crystal’ Anime Gets Hulu Expiration Date

The Sailor Moon Crystal anime series began its run on Hulu way back in 2014 but all good things must come to an end. The episodes have now gotten the tag of expiring soon and a 13-day window now placed on it before it departs the service. There is always a chance of renewal for it but it could be that the show is moving on to other streaming pastures soon and this one will be missing for awhile. If you’re in the midst of watching we definitely recommend finishing up before it disappears.

The first two seasons were directed by Munehisa Sakai at Toei Animation with Yuji Kobayashi doing the scripts. Yuki Sako worked on the character designs while Yasuharu Takanashi served as the composer. Art direction was done by Takashi Kurahashi and Yumi Hosaka.

The third season was directed by Chiaki Kon. The character designer position changed as well with Akira Takahashi taking on those duties after working as an episode animation director for the previous season. Yuki Kobayashi remained on board in charge of scripts for the series.

The cast for the show includes Kotono Mitsuishi as Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon, Hisako Kanemoto as Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury, Rina Satou as Rei Hino/Sailor Mars, Ami Koshimizu as Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter, Shizuka Itou as Minako Aino/Sailor Venus, Ryou Hirohashi as Luna, Kenji Nojima as Tuxedo Mask/Mamoru Chiba, Junko Minagawa as Haruka Tenou/Sailor Uranus, Sayaka Ohara as Michiru Kaioh/Sailor Neptune, Yukiyo Fujii as Hotaru, Tomoe/Sailor Saturn, Hikari Yono as Kaolinite, Takuya Kirimoto as Professor Tomoe, Takaya Hashi as Pharaoh 90, Yuki Nagaku as Mimete, Chiaki Takahashi as Eudial, Rina Hon’izumi as Viluy, Naomi Ōzora as Tellu and Umeka Shouji as Cyprine.

Property concept: Usagi Tsukino is a second-year middle school girl who is a little clumsy and a crybaby, but she is full of energy. One day, she meets Luna, a black cat with a crescent moon on her forehead, and she transforms into Sailor Moon, a sailor-uniformed pretty guardian of love and justice! As a chosen guardian of justice, Usagi seems to have a mission to find the Illusionary Silver Crystal with the other guardians and to protect the princess.

Meanwhile, the queen of the Dark Kingdom, Queen Beryl, also sends minions to the town where Usagi lives to obtain the Illusionary Silver Crystal, which has immense power. This causes strange events to unfold….

Can Sailor Moon really find the Illusionary Silver Crystal with the other Sailor guardians, and protect the princess…!?

I may not be a fan of most of Crystal very much, but that sucks for Sailor Moon fans and people who enjoy it. I'm not a fan of streaming mostly myself, but I will say that I hope it moves to somewhere like Roku, and NOT NETFLIX after the crap they pulled.

The DVDs are so expensive. I got them used from a friend.

I would love to own S, but way overpriced, even used. I may get the S movie because I love Luna.

Are you talking about the Cloverway S DVD set or the Viz DVD sets? I recently found both of the Cloverway S and SuperS DVD box sets from a girl on Facebook marketplace for $56 per set.
